Wednesday

This week is flying! My husband gets Friday off, which makes tomorrow our “Friday”. Which I am excited about! We have a packed weekend, our oldest is running CIF Prelims this weekend for cross country and then Sunday morning we will be at the post-race water table at the Disneyland Superheros Half Marathon!

And a recent addition handbag-wise:

I daren’t spill the beans on how inexpensive this bag was…but I will confess I also bought the rosy pink one too. OOPS! Total fluke find at my local outlet.

On a more somber note, I know our country is in the middle of much turmoil. I typically avoid political posts/subjects, just because this is a fashion/FUN/shopaholic diary/blog, but I know it’s been a very emotional couple of days for so many. I don’t know what the future of America is, I just know we WILL survive because we always have. I hope healing can begin after a very ugly and brutal campaign cycle and that we will be okay. I have stayed neutral this entire time on any social media/internet platform, and will continue to do so. But my heart hurts for all the hate and violence, from everyone.

Until next time,

Jules

TGIF!

Yay Friday! My outfit today:

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade (old!)
  2. Skirt: vintage, Thrifted
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin

Isn’t this cardigan gorgeous? The detailing is just stunning! I was excited to find this piece recently!

I did decide on a costume for the fall festival tonight, I pulled out pieces and threw together a flapper ensemble. However I was hit with an insane migraine just before leaving and didn’t get any photos. I cannot tell you how thankful I was tonight that my oldest drives! He got back from a huge cross country event about an hour into the event and I was able to come home and crash. Luckily my migraine “broke”, and I feel human again, even if it is nearly midnight. Whoops! Nothing worse than a sudden migraine like that, although if I had been paying attention I would have known it was looming! I get strange auras before, but I don’t always catch them. Sigh.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend! I am off on another adventure Sunday night, so my posting may be sporadic over the next week as I travel in & out of town again.

Until next time,

Jules

Today I threw this on to run a quick errand, this was post taking off my shoes:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Belt: Anthropologie

Did you see the Spring/Summer 2016 Kate Spade presentation on Friday? So many cute things! My favorites:

I love the longer hemlines and the pretty florals! It will be interesting to see what they end up actually producing for retail sale. I wish I was in NYC, what a fun sample sale (true samples, not just an online sale) Kate Spade probably has! Occasionally I have found sample pieces on the secondhand market, but it’s rare!

I will say, Kate Spade is KILLING it on the novelty bag front lately! I’m curious to see how the shoes end up working, I’m not sure how I feel about the fact that they are Valentino Rockstud-lookalikes!

Until next time,

Jule

Forced Shopping Ban

So, sad SAD SAD news. As of yesterday, Kate Spade outlets no longer do send sales, which was 75% of my Kate Spade outlet purchases! Because really, isn’t is more fun to receive a beautifully wrapped package from UPS at your front door vs flying all over the country to hunt down your favorites?

So I suppose I’m in a forced shopping ban of sorts. Or “forced rehab” as I hash tagged on my Instagram. As a busy mom who is running 47 directions at any given time, I cherished my relationships with the Shop Stylists all over the country! Alas, the era is ending and my acquisitions of fun, pretty, sparkly, and cute things has most likely come to an end. Oh Kate Spade, WHY?!

I protested today, and went with non-Kate Spade clothing:

  1. Blouse: Kohls
  2. Belt: secondhand
  3. Skirt: Vintage
  4. Shoes: SJP (Nordstrom Rack find, and they WILL do a send sale!)

I did visit Fashion Island yesterday, and here’s some photos from the latest fall collection to drop:

The plaid dress on me (for for reference, I typically take a 00, and this is a 00, except sizing seems to be different with fall as the 00 was still loose!). FYI, the cut is similar to the Charlene, except I feel the skirt is a little fuller. It does have pockets!

I fell in love with it, however my husband hated it. Two other dresses I didn’t buy:

Fall is gorgeous. Will I buy much? Still unknown. My closet is overflowing and I suppose it has to stop SOMEWHERE!

Until next time,

Jules

Pinky

Pinky the baby owl went to the farmers market with me today! It’s been so hot and humid trying to lug around a large bag is not really fun, but it is perfect weather for jelly shoes, as they sort of mold to your feet (I do not recommend wearing for long periods of time!). I love this shift dress for this time of year…if only it had pockets!

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Shoes: Nina
  3. Handbag: Kate Spade

I found this gorgeous vintage Trifari necklace while there:

Then I came home and spent my afternoon making masses of sugar flowers:

And I finally hunted down a partial photograph from Friday night:

But alas you can’t see my shoes nor the color of my dress! Lots of sparkle though!

Until next time,

Jules

Weekend in Review

I am home!!! You have no idea how happy I was to see my driveway at 2am this morning! The last hour in the car, my husband and I came really close to stopping. But I pulled out every crazy comment I could think of and kept him awake! Whew!

Some outfit recaps. Thursday I totally repeated what I wore LAST Thursday. Because it doesn’t pull anywhere and we had a 6.5 hour car ride:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Belt: Kate Spade
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin, strassed by me

Friday, I put this on:

With a white t-shirt and the same black belt from the day before (I packed light y’all. It’s a miracle!!) Skirt is Madison Avenue.

Yesterday I wore this:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade Sonja in Navy
  2. Belt: Target (little girls’ section)
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin
  4. Handbag: Kate Spade

See, I packed two pairs of shoes for this trip…my Alexandrite AB flats and a pair of flats for “working”. We went to handle my husband’s childhood home, and put it on the market for sale. I gave myself a new title “Jules the Picker”. I spent two days rummaging through 1600sqft of antiques, papers, bills, photos, glassware, dishes, etc. It was INSANE. But we got the things my husband wanted (and some glassware no one wanted, I intend to repurpose it), and we made it. Oh and my car towed a 12″ uhaul container beautifully!

She even had a big birthday just east of Tehachapi:

140,000 miles! I’m taking her in for a big spa day this week.

We did leave the house today and I tossed on this shift dress that is oh-so-comfortable:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Shoes: Kate Spade (finally wore these!!)
  3. Handbag: Kate Spade

And a few fun photos from our travels….we were in Sonora & Angel’s Camp, about 2 hours east of Sacremento. So beautiful up there!!!!

We stayed with a cousin and they set up their motor home for the kids…of course now the kids want to buy one! We are considering a rental and a road trip next summer, but I don’t want to own the size RV we would need with a family of 6. That’s just too much!

Party bus! So fun. I’m glad we got it done, the kids had a blast, and we made it home safe. Now we have just a week to prepare for back to school AND my daughter birthday is also this week. Going to be a busy one!!

Until next time,

Jules
