Weekend Review

Another weekend for the books! We finished getting the kids all ready for school (only a week late!!! They have clothing now at least), and I did not get my house clean. But I looked cute!

  1. Dress: Trina Turk (from the big store in LA on 3rd. Go visit, it’s gorgeous!)
  2. Shoes: Kate Spade

Sunday, I whipped out this new (to me) Kate Spade number, with one of my favorite necklaces. I had wanted to wear heels, but my neck said “NO!”:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Shoes: Jimmy Choo, strassed in Light Siam
  3. Handbag: Kate Spade (old)
  4. Necklace: Kate Spade (this is by far one of the best ever pieces!!)

Eugene met Ladybug (who still needs a proper name), overseen by Battle Toad:

Battle Toad is a favorite with my kids, he watched movies with them Saturday night (I kid you not, they are obsessed with him!!)

I got new bedding (this doesn’t mean I’ll actually make my bed though!!)

And today I am repeating an outfit, because it’s Monday and I’m already over today!

  1.  Dress: Tracy & Michael
  2. Shoes: Christian Louboutin

Oh and I made Macarons this weekend:

A few came out all wonky.

But most were okay:

Until next time,

Wednesday, Wednesday

So I started today in this…but it was pulling strange on my shoulders/chest, so I did change. Acupuncture IS helping, it’s just a slow slow process to heal from that stupid accident!!!

  1. Dress: Trina Turk (sample sale piece)
  2. Shoes: Kate Spade

What I actually wore all day (okay until 2pm when I got home and took a nap)

  1.  Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Belt: Anthropologie
  3. Shoes: Kate Spade

Sophia gained a sister today:

And Eugene is pouting with some of my sparkly shoes:

I know. I know. We shall leave it at that!

Until next time,

Thursday Blues

This week is almost over! It’s been one of THOSE weeks for sure. Ah well, I suppose it’s part of being a grown up with a job, a business, a husband, and four kiddos!

Today I am rocking an oldie but goodie:

Cardigan: Target, girls’ section
Dress: Trina Turk, Thrifted ages ago (under $10)
Belt: Made by Moi
Shoes: Strassed Nina Flats

And there ya go. Almost at the end of a long brutal week. And it’s been so hot, ugh!

Until next time,

Big Recap!

Woah, I’ve been running pretty much non-stop since last Thursday! I haven’t even been instagramming much, for me anyway (as I am completely an Instagram addict!!). The last few weeks of school is always hectic, and add in the Relay for Life cancer event on May 31/June 1, well, there ya go!

That said, some outfit recaps. I have stuck to wearing only dresses, however I have repeated some, as I get stuck in a “rut” when I feel either self-conscious or am completely pressed for time. It’s just easier to throw on something I love! Bad, I know!!

Friday: (a 2-dress day!)

Dress: Banana Republic
Shoes: Christian Louboutin

Outfit #2 (terrible photos, I know!)

Cardigan: Kate Spade
Dress: Kate Spade
Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Belt: It’s a Wrap
Handbag: Kate Spade

Saturday I baked ALL DAY. I busted out around 200+ French Macarons for orders this week (as you know, macarons are better after 3-4 days). My baking “outfit”:

Cardigan: Banana Republic
Dress: Target (Thrifted, $2.50)
Shoes: BARE FEET!! (This happens all the time when I am home, it’s soooo bizarre!)

Sunday I spent the day in LA. Had a great time, scored some amazing vintage pieces at a thrift shop. Now to decide if I keep them or sell them! But I wore this for the “fun”:

Cardigan: Talbots (Thrifted, $6-ish)
Dress: Kate Spade Corley Dress
Shoes: Jimmy Choo Strassed by Moi
Coin Purse: Kate Spade currently on sale in different colours for $29.99 (did I mention Kate Spade is having a surprise sale?!)

And finally, today:

Cardigan: Target
Dress: Trina Turk (Thrifted)
Belt: handmade
Shoes: Coach (old!!)
Handbag: Kate Spade

Yes, Kate Spade is having a surprise sale!!! Some amazing bargains on many cute dresses. Head over and find something fabulous! I think I am passing this time around, but then again it goes until Thursday, so one never knows. I’m sort of holding out for this weekend as my favorite outlet has some new stock in that I’ve been waiting for.

Oh my. To learn self control. I must one of these days.

Have a wonderful week!

Until next time,

Thursday Blues

I am feeling rather blue today, it’s super windy and it seems to me that there is a strange, not quite sure how to describe it, but it’s just the sense of something is going to happen. Something wild and strange. Perhaps I just didn’t get enough sleep last night!

I wasn’t thrilled with my shoe choice this morning, but I ran out of time, and so grabbed my most recent “standby” shoes & bag. I was going to change by bag as well, but again, time ran out on me this morning!!

Cardigan: Target
Dress: Trina Turk, thrifted
Belt: The Cute and Sparkly Wife
Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Handbag: Hermes

And that my friends, is all I have for today! I scored some amazing deals on a quick thrifting trip this afternoon, but those I will save for another post. I have yet to decide what I’m keeping and what I’m going to resell. My operation “sell off on eBay” is going quite well!

Don’t forget to enter my giveaway , it ends on Sunday!

Until next time,

A Forced Change of Clothing

So, being as the weather is gorgeous, as in 80+ degrees gorgeous, today called for a sundress. Yes I know I have worn this recently, but I just adore this colour, so I could not resist.

The first half of today’s clothing:

Cardigan: Target
Dress: Trina Turk, thrifted
Belt: Thrifted
Shoes: Strassed Nina Flats
Handbag: Coach

So yeah, I was happy. Just peachy.

And then disaster. I spilled icing colouring gel all over my skirt. No, seriously. Sooo, I whipped it off and immediately put again remover on it (its still soaking btw, that was 8 hours ago). And had a meltdown over what to wear the rest of the day. I had such a brutal headache, it was a HUGE deal for some reason. Fairly comical looking back.

Anyway, what I ended up throwing on:

Cardigan: Target (same one)
Dress: Ann Taylor, thrifted
Shoes: Christian Louboutin

Needless to say, I’m still slightly bummed. But it worked out, as I only had to run and pick kids up this afternoon. I also finished my cake (it’s super neat! I’ll reveal it after it gets delivered), and have started on a second one. All without an apron.

Guess what? Not one single spot on my second dress. Yes, I had a huge apron on this morning and still nailed my skirt. But no apron, black and brown gel paints, and nothing. We also made a potato baby for my youngest. Not a single spot!

Seriously universe?

So there you go. Talk about a true “hump day” today! Wednesday, you are almost over, may your big sister Thursday be kinder to my clothing.

Until next time,

Weekend in Review

It’s been a whirlwind this past weekend, getting ready for Valentine’s Day is always fun & crazy! Throw in some baking, 4 kids, and bam! I tend to feel a little, well, “mommy brain” kicks in!

Friday and yesterday were repeat outfits, and I didn’t take any photos. Today was really a repeat of last weekend (what can I say? I’m in winter-denial over here!), but taken outside (quick! I went in the sun, it’s a miracle!):

Cardigan: Target
Dress: Trina Turk, thrifted
Belt: my own design, with a vintage brooch attached
Shoes: Light Sapphire strassed Christian Louboutin flats
Bag: Kate Spade Play Hooky Gia (forgot I had this!)

Of course me being outside lasted all of 2.5 seconds, as I am so obviously not a sun worshipper. In fact, I would probably be quite okay to stay inside forever. I turn red so quickly, no matter how much sunscreen I slather on. Really quite annoying, but hey, what’s a pale girl to do? Big sunglasses and sunhats all summer! Okay, I do make exceptions for Disneyland, but I also know all the shady spots to hide in. And I wear huge hats.

Some bits from the past few days. We will start with sweets, cupcakes, cake balls, & Macarons:

Then I started on a shoe project last night:

These are going to be insane. It’s for a friend of mine, sort of an early birthday present. She is so super fabulous that she needs crazy crystal shoes. And believe me, these will be crazy! Watch for teasers! Although they are still being painted, these require a pattern once the base coats are on. Should be interesting, seeing how I would have failed art class had it been required! (I cannot paint or draw worth anything. Except on cake. Go figure!!)

Then I finished Valentine cards this afternoon:

I figure I’ve started embellishing my personal stationary as of late, might as well embellish cards for my friends too! It was seriously quite simple, and I know it will bring joy to those who receive one.

My other project is still in the works. I’m embellishing a present for a new baby. I’m still working out how it’s going to work, but I can say I’m super excited. Of course it’s terribly un-practical, exactly the types of baby presents I like to give! (With the huge box of diapers of course)

And then we always celebrate Chinese New Year, so I did my normal crazy noodle stir fry (and did not take pictures). Kids love it, and it’s a fun little way to tie in the Asian heritage my step-sons inherited from their late mother. I did forget the fortune cookies this year, whoops. (No one noticed!)

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend! I’m excite for this week. The Engineer and I don’t do big crazy Valentine Day plans, but I did convince him that an adults-only Disneyland trip was a must-do, and so we are both playing hooky on Tuesday while the kids are in school. I plan on wearing my new pretty Alannah Hill dress and my ruby slippers, weather permitting. It’s been so crazy. Just 48hrs ago it was snowing, and today I wore a spring outfit. I haven’t even looked at tomorrow, although I do imagine something equally wild will occur. Hot/cold/hot/cold. Hello?! This is Southern California, it’s supposed to be 80 and sunny year round! (In theory anyway) I am thankful for the reasonably mild weather though. Even when I do complain. It is all enjoyable.

Happy Lunar New Year!

Until next time,
