Oh boy, another week has come and gone. I’ve finally gotten most of my gifts wrapped, but still waiting on some last minute items to arrive (this is so not like me! I’m usually done with everything wrapped around Thanksgiving!!) However, I have kept the “dressing up” game strong lately!

Wednesday….I wore this (I also got my hair done, FINALLY!! It’s been months…I found a new stylist and she’s made my hair what I’ve always wanted, without me giving her much information!!)

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Dress: Adriana Papell
  3. Shoes: Kate Spade
  4. Necklace: thrift store pearls with a vintage snowflake brooch.

Thursday was my LAST CHRISTMAS PARTY ever for a kiddo. My youngest is in 4th grade, and it’s the last year in our school they have fun holiday parties. We’ve had the same teacher for 3 of the 4 in 4th grade, so I am thrilled to go and do classroom stuff with her! She’s a gem and I will sorely miss her as a teacher! (But I see her all the time anyway) As I must maintain my “overdressed” reputation, I put this number on: (I picked up this dress recently…but I belted the sweater like that because even the 00 is TOO BIG. I have to take it to the tailor to have it taken in)

  1. Cardigan: Barney’s (big sale last year…I need to see if they have it again. This cardigan has really held up well!)
  2. Dress: Kate Spade (available online)
  3. Belt: Kate Spade (again, available in light blue, navy in stores)
  4. Shoes: Kate Spade (old)

Friday…I took a friend to bingo…which was actually fun! I was WAY overdressed!

  1. Cardigan: Banana Republic outlet
  2. Dress: Kate Spade (old outlet version of the Adette dress)
  3. Belt: Kate Spade (currently at outlets for around $20!)
  4. Shoes: Kate Spade (old)

Friday night was our final holiday party (I’m not counting family parties), and I pulled this number out that I bought MONTHS ago….and went for the “ice princess” look:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Shoes: Christian Louboutin strassed in Crystal AB
  3. Handbag: Rajah (also Kate Spade, holiday 2014)

The sequins are actually a matte finish, so adding the sparkly handbag and shoes didn’t make it overkill. It also has pockets, which is great when your at a casino night! We had $500 in chips to start with and at the end of the night I had turned it into $15,800!!! (Play money, but still fun, we had the biggest take of the night!)

Yesterday I threw this on for a Costco run (we went early, it wasn’t that bad)

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade (at outlets right now for under $70)
  2. Skirt: Kate Spade
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin, strassed by me.

On my shoes….I love the “Love” flats so much, I have a pair in black, AND I just found another pair last week that I am going to strass like I did these. Undecided on colour, but something wild and crazy I’m sure!

Finally, today….for church, figured I’d get in the holiday season with some BRIGHT attire, even if it is super cold and icky out today:

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade (old…I also have in black and baby pink)
  2. Dress: Kate Spade Hayden (outlet version of the Jillian) *i had forgotten about this dress, tucked away unworn!!!
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin strassed by me
  4. Necklace: Kate Spade

Whew….long recap! Hopefully I’ll get back at it more frequently. It’s just been a super super busy season…traveling makes December  rough. Hope you are enjoying your holiday season!

Until next time,

Another Long Recap

Holidays are pretty busy, and this year takes the cake for our household! I find myself forgetting to blog quite frequently!! So, here’s some outfit recaps:

  2. Dress: Kate Spade
  3. Belt: Kate Spade
  4. Shoes: Jimmy Choo (strassed by me)
  5. Handbag: Kate Spade

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Belt: Vintage
  3. Shoes: Jimmy Choo
  4. Handbag: Kate Spade

  1. Blouse: Kohls
  2. Skirt: Kate Spade
  3. Belt: Target
  4. Shoes: Kate Spade

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Skirt: Kate Spade
  3. Shoes: Jimmy Choo

And finally, the first holiday party ensemble of the season! Some friends of ours invited us out to Los Angeles for the Delta LAX Christmas Party….we had a ball! And of course after agonizing about my dress/shoes (my bag was easy!), here’s the end result:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade Emma, holiday 2013
  2. Shoes: Christian Louboutin, strassed by me.

My husband and I got a really nice photo of the two of us, but I’m saving it to go on the family Christmas card (which I still need to order!!). We had fun. I felt like it was a great warm up to the two parties we have later this week. I may be remiss in posting this week, but my Instagram, Katespadegirlblog, is kept fairly up to date!

Meanwhile, back to this:

Bagging & tagging 100’s of French Macarons!

Until next time,

Monday Blues

Monday morning always difficult, even more so after having been gone all weekend! So I tossed on one of my favorite 2015 acquisitions and rocked it: (seriously, I could wear this dress twice a week. It’s comfortable, the fabric is beautiful, and it has POCKETS!!)

  1. Cardigan: Barney’s
  2. Dress: Kate Spade Kendrick (outlet only…current here in the US)
  3. Belt: Kate Spade
  4. Shoes: Christian Louboutin

And to recap what I wore Saturday (sadly I did not take any photos yesterday of my dress!!! I need better shoes…more on that later), starting the day out in this:

  1.  Jacket: Kate Spade Valerie (off eBay, under $50. I have this is yellow too. I LOVE it)
  2. Blouse: Unknown. I don’t remember if this was an eBay or a thrift shop find, but it was secondhand.
  3. Skirt: Kate Spade (again, off eBay. Sadly they did not make this one for the outlet this year! It’s tricky to wear, as its a light silk, so any wind and you flash everyone!)
  4. Shoes: Christian Louboutin

And I changed into this for the evening, because, when in Vegas….sparkles are appropriate!!!

  1. Dress: Kate Spade (available in white right now in the sale section! The white is a very matte white sequin. My husband was a little disappointed, but I love how subtle the white is. This navy one however….not so subtle!! Some of the outlets might have it still…never hurts to call and ask!)
  2. Shoes: Christian Louboutin, strassed by me in Montana Sapphire crystals.

Sunday we popped over to the Venetian on the strip to visit Kate Spade:

And left empty handed. Of course 1. They had nothing in my size, and 2. it’s friends and family this coming weekend!! I have my eye on the Corley dress, after seeing it in person, It’s on my “want” list. But I’m not feeling the rest of spring right now!! (Which is a good thing)

Of course then we HAD to go to shoe mecca and I fell in love with a gorgeous pair of Christian Louboutins that are sooooo impractical! Luckily they were 120mm, which I cannot do, and so we left the strip with nothing more than lunch! But the sales associates at Louboutin were sooooo amazing. I just wanted to hang out with them all afternoon!

Hope your Monday was grand!

Until next time,

Giveaway Winner!

And even though it is SUPER late, it IS still the 22nd here in California!!!

To calculate a winner I assigned each entry a number (based on when they were received by me), and used

And the winner is…..

Faith Giambattista, an entry received via e-mail. Faith, send me an email with your shipping address please, and I will send this your way:

In other news my husband is starting a new job (and oh what a wonderful blessing it turned out to be!! I am super excited his commute is dropping to 10 miles vs 43 miles! Hello lunch dates!!!!), and they were kind enough to invite us to their Christmas party this past weekend (even though he doesn’t start until next year!). I wore some lovely sequins, AND we took some fun crazy photos:

We are just a couple of goofballs!!! I was exhausted from spending 15 hours at Disneyland on Friday, but managed to keep the yawns at bay until we got in the car! Sunday I wore the same dress for the Christmas Eve dinner shopping run:

Cardigan: JCrew Kids
Dress: Kate Spade (via Bloomingdales. Who has excellent customer service I might add!) It’s on sale right now too!
Shoes: heels-Kate Spade (what I wore Saturday night), flats-Christian Louboutin (they are this gorgeous navy blue with swirls of glitter, like a night sky! You cannot tell in photos)

I have been regulated to the backseat now that my teenager is driving:

And I made a bazillion cake pops yesterday AND my salted chocolate chip cookies. All that’s left for Christmas Eve is the pumpkin pie!!

I did not take an outfit shot today, I’ve been struggling with a wicked migraine and admit to coming home from work and putting on PJs earlier than I care to admit!!! Are you working this week? It hardly feels like Christmas is just two days away. As a kid you never think the magic will go away, but it totally does!!!! Frankly I’m more excited about a 4-day weekend. Tax season starts in January and so the break is very welcome!

Congratulations Faith!

Until next time,

Happy Easter!

Hope y’all had a wonderful Easter Sunday! My husband and I spent half the day traveling, from where the wedding we came north for to Santa Cruz, where I found the most darling hotel (even better in person!!), and plan to celebrate his birthday and just a “do nothing” getaway. Of course we have grand plans for tomorrow! (Let’s see how many pan out!!!)

First though, some photos from the wedding, all my desserts made it!!

Such a gorgeous afternoon!! The bride is super crafty, she made all those orbs, designed the cheese table, and pretty much did EVERYTHING but the desserts and food. On her property. Ah-mazing! And my treats were quite the hit. (Of course!!) The bridal cake, I used her dress for the inspiration, it came out so beautiful!

Of course I neglected to snap photos of my outfit, but here’s one with my shoes:

I wore my sequin Kate Spade Emma dress and my shoes were Kate Spade. I didn’t really accessorize beyond that, wasn’t needed!

Today I busted out a bright shiny happy dress:

Dress: Kate Spade
Shoes: Kate Spade
Necklace: Burlington Coat Factory

On our drive we stopped at the Livermore outlets. I did pick up a couple of things that will be revealed at a later date. The outlet there had several dresses that are full price online and in the stores in Southern California! Crazy!!!

Anyway, I hope y’all had a wonderful Easter Sunday!

I leave you with this:

Super excited to celebrate my husbands birthday tomorrow!! Boardwalk here we come!

Until next time?

Thursday is always an odd day for me. The kids have early release at school, plus I have bible study, and sometimes also end up going to work. Today was no exception, well, except work was at my house because I’m baking like a madwoman still!

But I decided to pull out some sparkle this morning:

Cardigan: Target
Dress: Kate Spade
Belt: Alannah Hill
Shoes: Kate Spade
Bag: Kate Spade
Necklace: unknown

Of course in addition to all the macarons this week, I have a small cake to delivery tomorrow. Some teasers:

Zebra, shimmery glittery pink AND hidden mickeys?! Yes please!! Can’t wait to throw it all together. I know the birthday girl is going to be thrilled!

In addition to the dress sale I have going on, stay tuned for my 2-year blog anniversary giveaway!! I just received the last piece of my “puzzle” today and I am SO excited to share this!! Especially as it’s things chosen by me.

Until next time,

Red, Navy, & Sequins?!

Sometimes I just have to make the title funny, why not? It amuses me, so I assume someone else out there gets a laugh at how utterly ridiculous I am!

What I wore today:

Cardigan: Kate Spade (forgot I had this!)
Blouse: Banana Republic
Skirt: Anthropologie (secondhand)
Belt: Kate Spade
Shoes: Christian Louboutin

I did not wear a smashing necklace today because my neck has been bothering me. I am going to blame watching the Olympics on my iPad and all the French Macarons I’ve been making. Speaking of those, I was at it again tonight!

That’s a vanilla macaron with a salted caramel cream inside. I also made chocolate, chocolate mint and coffee. This weekend I will whip up more almond, before shipping a huge order back east. I have been super good and have only snuck in 2-3 since last week. I consider THAT an act of God!!

I also got two boxes of lovelies from the Kate Spade outlet this afternoon. This purse:

And the matching dress:

It’s the exact same style/cut as the black one my husband bought me Saturday in Palm Springs. When they had this one come in to the outlet on Sunday, well, he jumped on the bandwagon and bought it! Now I just need an occasion to wear it. It’s quite blinding in the sun!!!! I know this dress really made the rounds before the holiday season last year, and I loved it then, but not at the $799 price tag!! It was discounted enough that I couldn’t say no.

Where would you wear it? I mean I would wear it to take the kids to school and maybe throw on my fur coat, but that might be pushing it a little. I would totally wear ballgowns every day if I could get away with it and it wasn’t such a pain to drive my car in a big dress. But that’s me. I love to channel my inner princess as much as possible.

Don’t forget to check out my blog sale. So far u have dresses listed, will be adding other items soon. I am open to negotiation as well.

Until next time,
