Halfway through another very crazy busy week! Lots of macarons this week, coupled with my miscalculations, and I had a pile of these:

This was a small pile, I actually ended up with 14 dozen of these cracked half shells! However, I just match them up, fill them with whatever I have, and I offer them for half price in not-so-pretty packaging. And those 13 dozen became 7 dozen “macawrongs” that were snapped up within a couple of hours. Sigh. At least it hit me this afternoon what I did wrong! A simple miscalculation on one of the ingredients in the meringue. Proof that I am only human and often make ridiculous mistakes!

I did pull together a cute outfit yesterday (which I repeated for bible study this evening, with different shoes), for the morning. Afternoon was the first cross country meet and I changed into a bright orange dress with my new blue handbag, school colors! (And didn’t take a photo. OOPS)

  1. Blouse: Forever21, but picked up at Goodwill for $2
  2. Skirt: Kate Spade
  3. Belt: secondhand (under $5)
  4. Shoes: Kate Spade
  5. Handbag: Kate Soade Quinn

And today:

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Dress: Kate Spade Jillian
  3. Shoes: thrifted

My single surprise sale purchase came, and I fully admit I do regret not purchasing the smaller Flamingo bag as well. However, the reality is I didn’t need either one, and this one is way more practical:

I love the size. I really wish my cat maise was this size too, it’s the perfect size! Now she needs a name.

Until next time,

Forced Shopping Ban

So, sad SAD SAD news. As of yesterday, Kate Spade outlets no longer do send sales, which was 75% of my Kate Spade outlet purchases! Because really, isn’t is more fun to receive a beautifully wrapped package from UPS at your front door vs flying all over the country to hunt down your favorites?

So I suppose I’m in a forced shopping ban of sorts. Or “forced rehab” as I hash tagged on my Instagram. As a busy mom who is running 47 directions at any given time, I cherished my relationships with the Shop Stylists all over the country! Alas, the era is ending and my acquisitions of fun, pretty, sparkly, and cute things has most likely come to an end. Oh Kate Spade, WHY?!

I protested today, and went with non-Kate Spade clothing:

  1. Blouse: Kohls
  2. Belt: secondhand
  3. Skirt: Vintage
  4. Shoes: SJP (Nordstrom Rack find, and they WILL do a send sale!)

I did visit Fashion Island yesterday, and here’s some photos from the latest fall collection to drop:

The plaid dress on me (for for reference, I typically take a 00, and this is a 00, except sizing seems to be different with fall as the 00 was still loose!). FYI, the cut is similar to the Charlene, except I feel the skirt is a little fuller. It does have pockets!

I fell in love with it, however my husband hated it. Two other dresses I didn’t buy:

Fall is gorgeous. Will I buy much? Still unknown. My closet is overflowing and I suppose it has to stop SOMEWHERE!

Until next time,

Weekend Recap

I had every intention of blogging last night, and then I got wrapped in macaron-making! It’s been a busy baking weekend, that is for sure.

Saturday I wore this:

  1. Blouse: Kohls
  2. Skirt: Dress Corilynn (although ahe doesn’t make them anymore!!)
  3. Belt: secondhand
  4. Shoes: Kate Spade

Sunday I wore this to church:

  1.  Dress: Kate Spade Lyric (and a little birdie told me this dress was done in black & white for fall!)
  2. Shoes: Kate Spade
  3. Handbag: Kate Spade
  4. Necklace: Kate Spade

Today I wore this:

  1.  Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Belt: Secondhand
  3. Shoes: Kate Spade

The newest collection hit the stores today! I haven’t been in to look, however I’m loving these dresses:

And the creatures! Sigh. If only I had a winning lottery ticket. However the dresses above, I don’t know if they will find a home in my closet, as I am having a bit of a crowd control problem!

I also made this on Saturday:

Such a fun cake! It was a dad and his 3 kids’ HUGE birthday bash. The girls picked all those flowers for their part of the cake. I was informed it was a huge hit and there wasn’t a crumb left. Success!!!

And last night, these:

Mmmmm. I’m in full swing this month! Happy Monday!

Until next time,

Lucky Belle

Today I took Belle out on her first adventure. You know, initially I wasn’t going to buy her, and then I wasn’t sure if I was going to KEEP her. But alas, another novelty bag sucks me in!!

I had planned to go get Chinese food for lunch, but ended up on the other side of town. However I went home and made myself a plate of spicy pan-fried noodles:

So yummy. I always regret it a bit later (they are HOT. The sauce is a sesame garlic with chili paste & hot mustard!), but it’s totally worth it. I could live off noodles! And bread. Oh and any carb-like substance!!

My outfit:

  1. Blouse: Nanette Lepore
  2. Skirt: Escada (thrifted, I’ve had this piece for 6+ years! My sister found it for about $6)
  3. Belt: thrifted
  4. Shoes: Coach, I added Siam crystals to the pointed part, the back is glitter.
  5. Necklace & bracelet: Kate Spade
  6. Watch: Omega (my husbands, but I’ve essentially stolen it.)
  7. Handbag: Kate Spade, outlet exclusive from about a month ago. These sold out SO fast.

Tomorrow I start in on a HUGE cake project…sugar flowers anyone? I’m excited for this one, I don’t often get to make sugar flowers!

Until next time,

PS: Eugene is doing well, he says hello. Him and Lady are happily engaged. (He moves fast!)

A Recap

I fear I have been horrid at keeping this updated lately. Every year our church does a big women’s event, and the week before my schedule gets a little bananas. It’s great fun, and I enjoy my yearly volunteer time.

Thursday I wore this:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade Corley
  2. Belt: secondhand
  3. Shoes: Kate Spade

Friday, I wore this dress, which has been on repeat quite a bit this summer, as it’s a little big and so does not exasperate my still troublesome whiplash/neck/chest pains from our accident back in May:

  1.  Dress: Kate Spade (PS if you are a 8-10 and are looking for this dress, shoot me an email)
  2. Belt: secondhand (no label. Might be handmade)
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin strassed in Alexandrite AB

Today I wore this to church:

  1.  Dress: Kate Spade “Havana”
  2. Belt: Kate Spade (but a Goodwill find)
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin
  4. Necklace: Swarovski

This dress was actually a VERY recent purchase, as in my husband and I took a spin up to the local outlets (hey, the kids needed athletic clothes!), and this had finally gone on sale enough that I purchased it. However, it’s runs VERY big. I’m going to have to have it taken in. But it’s a fun and unique print!

Some photos I took Friday night:

I do not have any information about pricing, but you can always call your local store (or any outlet!), they ship for a mere $5. I have my eye on one of the dark blue bags, that color is so divine!!! And maybe a polka dot bag. We shall see what the Labor Day weekend sale ends up being.

Hope your weekend was grand! Until next time,

P.S.: a small reminder, please do not use my photos to sell your Kate Spade dresses. My blog content is owned by me and not for use elsewhere without my permission. That said, if you see a listing anywhere of me wearing a Kate Spade dress, it is NOT my listing and I am not associated with it. Sellers who use photos not their own, I always say be VERY wary of that when purchasing secondhand! Protect yourself, so many counterfeit items out there!!

Can we have a word here. Like seriously, a WORD?!

It is Friday. Which means my crazy insane week is FINALLY winding down. Hundreds of cake pops, more French Macarons, and all I have left is to dip a measly 150 strawberries tomorrow morning. Cakewalk! (It really is. Melting and tempering the chocolate is the most time consuming part!)

I’ve had my business for about 7 years, and many of those I hustled on holidays. I had good sales, but nothing NOTHING like this year. And I didn’t even really hustle this year! I suppose that means I’m doing something right, or perhaps I’m charging too little for my monster macarons:

All I know is that I did more than I dreamed this week, and kept the house clean, and went to my other “job”, and kept everyone fed. Sometimes it’s good to see how far you can push yourself! I just wish I had snapped more photos, when I had those cookies all laid out yesterday to box everything up, it was INSANE! And of course it’s all been picked up at this point today!!! Oh well.

Some outfits, starting with today (for when you have deliveries to make, specifically a pile to your husbands new co-workers, one wants to look the Valentine part, right?!)

Cardigan: Kate Spade
Dress: Kate Spade Jillian (this was the first Kate Spade dress my husband bought me. Well that we remember anyway)
Shoes: Montana Sapphire strass Christian Louboutin

Cardigan: Barney’s
Blouse: Nanette Lepore
Skirt: It’s a Wrap (it’s from Anthropologie)
Belt: Thrifted
Shoes: Light Siam strass Jimmy Choo flats

And Wednesday (yes, I’ve been rocking the Valentine theme ALL week. Seriously yall, it’s helped keep me cheerful and not stress about that huge sheet I had that listed all my orders!!):

Cardigan: Target (old! At least 2 years ago)
Blouse: thrifted, no brand
Skirt: Kate Spade
Shoes: Light Siam strass Jimmy Choo flats

And I will leave you with this….my husband is a quiet man, and at times living with an engineer can be, well, interesting (especially being as “out there” as I am!), but boy does he know how to pick a handbag! These were his choices from the recent surprise sale (minus the ship clutch, I actually bought that one), and he did good!!

I am blessed beyond measure this week.

Now back to the kitchen!

Until next time,

All Dressed Up

What a Thursday I had! I started this morning off cooking for bible study, as it was my week to bring food. However, my children have been home feeling unwell all week, and so I dropped the food and came home to spend the day with them.

I did leave a present for my table ladies though:

And I wore this:

Cardigan: Kate Spade (an early valentines present!)
Skirt: JCrew (thrifted)
Shoes: Strassed Christian Louboutin done by Joey of Redo My Shoe

And then this evening I busted out my $4 thrifted Abaete dress and my fur, and got all dressed up and went out with my husband:

Dress: Abaete (a now defunct clothing line. Retailed for over $500 new)
Belt: Vintage, $1 @ local thrift shop
Shoes Crystal AB Strassed Christian Louboutin simples
Clutch: Escada (purchased at It’s a Wrap)
Bracelets: diamond tennis bracelet + costume pearl piece from a friend
Fur: Dark Ranch Mink, given to me by a dear friend almost 4 years ago.

All in all, a good day!! Now I just need another occasion for the dress! I LOVE it!

Until next time,
