Fashion, Food, Desserts, being a 30-something mom is exciting!

Good Friday

Wow, it doesn’t feel like Easter weekend! I imagine it is because my husband and I packed up and are headed to Northern California for a wedding. Yes, we left the kids behind! I feel guilty as a mom, but my parents have them, and I know my kids are most likely (okay, totally likely!!) to be more excited about grandma & grandpa than mom & dad!!

That said, I’m glad we didn’t drag them, I did all the desserts for this wedding and the car is precariously packed, in hopes the French Macarons all survive the 6+ hour trip!!

My travel ensemble:

Cardigan: Target
Dress: Calvin Klein
Belt: Thrift
Shoes: Kate Spade

And this is why I haven’t been posting this week, I have become a cookie. Or at least it feels like it!!! French Macarons, iced sugar cookies, sugar cookies, cake balls, a small cake & some other cookies. Some teaser photos:

I’m excited to set it all up tomorrow and share photos! I also am finally going to wear the sequin Kate Spade Emma dress, eeks!!! I probably won’t post again until Sunday, I have terrible cell service where we will be. But on Sunday my husband and I are headed to Santa Cruz to celebrate his birthday, and just have some time away with nowhere to be!! I found an adorable boutique hotel and we will hit the boardwalk….it’ll be a first for both of us! I’ll take it, it’s not always easy to find things new to “us”, one of the hazards of a second marriage! But I wouldn’t change a thing in my life, the good OR the bad.

Because life is that, an experience!!

Have a wonderful Easter weekend, and those out on the road, travel safe! And travel colorfully!

Until next time,

Sunday Whimsy

How do I even describe what I’m wearing today? Glitter, pink, bows, pearls, owls, I mean, where does that even take your mind!! Well, here’s the photos, and while it sounds completely insane, it totally worked. Well, in MY mind. I do not claim to be anything close to a fashion guru, expert, or even remotely “cutting edge”. Just a gal who likes to dress for the imaginary ball.

Yes, I even ventured outside for some photos! Always nice to have the husband home and charming him into shooting a picture or two.

Cardigan: Kate Spade
Dress: Kate Spade Emma in Blush
Belt: Kate Spade
Shoes: Kate Spade
Handbag: Kate Spade (aka “Winky”)
Necklace: unknown, cheapie from Burlington

I can’t believe I waffled on buying Winky. What was I thinking? He is fabulous. So whimsical and fun. Not to mention he has gold, silver AND rose gold accents, which means I can mix metal colours! (Which I do anyway)

One last shot, from Instagram this morning, okay, two, the cardigan I had planned on wearing, but wore my hair loose so switched to the one I ended up wearing. My hair catches in the neck detail.

Have a wonderful Sunday! I’m off and running, have to prepare for the week and get my eldest child prepared to leave for AFJROTC camp tomorrow. Poor kid has no idea. I’m excited for him, it’ll be a good (yet painful!) experience!

Until next time,

Wow, it’s such a gorgeous day today!!! Seriously, can one beat this:

I mean, wow! I wish I could say I spent time out there, but alas, me + sun does not equal a nice equation! My kids are out enjoying it this afternoon though!

My outfits today(I changed it up a bit after lunch):

The photos above do NOT show the true colour of my sweater! These are more accurate (and show how important lighting is for photographs!):

Cardigan: Kate Spade (Woodbury Commons outlet)
Top: Old Navy (NWT, $3 @ goodwill)
Skirt: Corilynn
Shoes: Kate Spade Multi-Glitter Heels (I also own these in a pale rose gold pink)
Handbag: Kate Spade

And of course it seems it’s never a proper Wednesday unless I bake something! I threw together some lemon-raspberry thumbprint cookies for someone quite dear to me. Especially because he consumes large quantities of anything I bake for him!

Hope your week is going stellar!

Until next time,

The day after…..

I survived! Yesterday that is. I’m paying for it today though. My Facebook status this morning was “I require Starbucks. Thats all”. Channeling Miranda from “the devil wears prada”, and well, I need a kick this morning!

My outfit:

Cardigan: Kate Spade, eBay
Skirt: Basil & Maude, eBay
Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Handbag: Kate Spade

Yes, I’m working the crazy colorful thing today. I’m not quite sure that it works, but hey, I’m going to rock it. All I have today is my Thursday bible study (which has been really great this fall!), and a trip to Costco for gas and potstickers.

Happy November 1st! Any big plans this weekend? Mine are to get my neck and back rested so we can hop down to Disneyland next week! I’m super bummed we didn’t get to go yesterday, it was dead. *sigh* oh well!

Until next time,

What I’m Wearing

Happy Easter!

I suppose today I am “Colorblocking”. Orange & Pink. Well, mainly orange! (and 3 different shades at that!!)

The Rundown:
Cardigan: Kate Spade, $29 off eBay
Skirt: Ralph Lauren, $14 off eBay
Shoes: Nine West, $22 at Ross
Handbag: Kate Spade Antoinette, $110 at the outlet

I actually picked the wedges up on Friday, I thought they were perfect with my Chloe skirt!

Shoes & Handbag

And my contribution to Easter brunch at moms house

Have a wonderful resurrection day everyone!

Until next time,
