Lucky Belle

Today I took Belle out on her first adventure. You know, initially I wasn’t going to buy her, and then I wasn’t sure if I was going to KEEP her. But alas, another novelty bag sucks me in!!

I had planned to go get Chinese food for lunch, but ended up on the other side of town. However I went home and made myself a plate of spicy pan-fried noodles:

So yummy. I always regret it a bit later (they are HOT. The sauce is a sesame garlic with chili paste & hot mustard!), but it’s totally worth it. I could live off noodles! And bread. Oh and any carb-like substance!!

My outfit:

  1. Blouse: Nanette Lepore
  2. Skirt: Escada (thrifted, I’ve had this piece for 6+ years! My sister found it for about $6)
  3. Belt: thrifted
  4. Shoes: Coach, I added Siam crystals to the pointed part, the back is glitter.
  5. Necklace & bracelet: Kate Spade
  6. Watch: Omega (my husbands, but I’ve essentially stolen it.)
  7. Handbag: Kate Spade, outlet exclusive from about a month ago. These sold out SO fast.

Tomorrow I start in on a HUGE cake project…sugar flowers anyone? I’m excited for this one, I don’t often get to make sugar flowers!

Until next time,

PS: Eugene is doing well, he says hello. Him and Lady are happily engaged. (He moves fast!)

Sandra Dee

This week at school is spirit week, one of two weeks a year the kids get to dress out of uniform and rather crazy! Today is 50’s day, and as I am scheduled to go into one of the classrooms this afternoon, I decided it was the perfect occasion to whip out the poodle skirt I bought in LA earlier this year!

Cardigan: Kate Spade
Blouse: Banana Republic
Belt: Thrifted
Skirt: Vintage, from It’s a Wrap
Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Handbag: Hermes Birkin (30cm)

And some cookies I whipped up last night for a last minute thing today:

I must say I’ve been dying for an excuse to wear my poodle skirt. I suppose I could just wear it, but for where I live I already have some pretty outlandish dressing going on. Or rather “costuming” as one gal I know puts it.

Anyway, I’m off and running for the day. Tomorrow is my blog anniversary, AND a field trip, like I said, crazy week!

Until next time,

So yeah, I suppose I will dazzle in the sun. (Wait, I hate the sun!!) However, I am headed to church this morning for bible study. This study is soul searching. Nehemiah by Kelly Minter. Wow, just wow. It does make me feel a tad too materialistic, but I don’t live beyond my means, plus I do quite a bit if charity work. But there is always more.

What are you up to today? After church I have presents to buy, I still need to wrap up the adorable baby present I put together for a gal on our hospitality team. Oops.

Until next time,

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Dress: Alannah Hill
Brooch: Vintage, off eBay
Necklace: Banana Republic
Shoes: Christian Louboutin

I wore “my” Omega watch and some diamond pave earrings.

My necklace & shoes:

And the lovely table from bible study this morning, which I must admit, overwhelmed even me!

Lots of treats and goodies! I’m on a sugar overload by this point. More to come this evening for the kiddos, should be fun to surprise them!

Hope you had a lovely Valentine’s Day, may you be single or part of a couple!

Until next time,

Pink Love

I’m headed to the office this morning, so I of course made an attempt to dress the part. Not that she cares all that much, but I have to say, it does make it easier when I am in and out of banking institutions!

Cardigan: Ann Taylor
Dress: Calvin Klein (worn a little over a week ago, but it’s so bright and cheery!)
Shoes: Christian Louboutin (heels are not going to happen, not after the 10+ miles we walked yesterday!)
Necklace: The Cute and Sparkly Wife
Belt: off my Lela Rose for Target dress
Handbag: Kate Spade

Now you ask, what is this “The Cute and Sparkly Wife”? It’s something I’ve been working on, accessories and other odds and ends. It hasn’t officially launched yet (probably another couple of weeks, still waiting on graphics and packaging), but in the meantime I simply have not been able to resist wearing some of my sample pieces!!

My necklace:

I’m sure as time goes on I will share more bits and pieces here and there. Don’t worry, this blog is not going to turn into a “buy my stuff” ad. I will mention when I wear pieces from the line and that’s about it. I do normally post links to small business, so it will be like that.

Anyway. Enough of that! My bag & shoes:

Happy Monday y’all, I hope you have a wonderful first day of the week!

Until next time,

Disneyland Bound!

So excited this Superbowl Sunday! Headed to a lovely day at an overcast Disneyland.

My belt, handmade with a vintage brooch:

My shoes:

Have a magical day!

Until next time,

February 1

It’s day one readers, day one of a 28-day shopping ban. Oh my. My heart is racing, I’m a touch antsy, but I know in my heart it will be a learning experience, and one taken at the right time for me. I saw even more yesterday morning at bible study, that it is a journey I NEED to take.

That said, I have a few monthy subscriptions to various beauty boxes, and those I did not cancel or suspend for the month. I do feel that since those are paid in advance, it’s also something to look forward too! (I adore packages in the mail) I am excited to rediscover my closet and just generally work on being a little less materialistic.

My outfit today:

Cardigan: Kate Spade, off eBay
Skirt: Banana Republic
Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Stockings: Calvin Klein
Handbag: Kate Spade

I know I recently wore this sweater, but the detail is so amazing. I am not a big animal print person (this cardigan is one of two animal print items I own), but the detail makes it so unique, I’m willing to step outside of MY box and enjoy wearing it! The detail:

And my shoes & bag:

Happy Friday y’all!

Until next time,
