Weekend Review

Another weekend has come and gone. We had an interesting week last week, and I just got consumed in real life instead of virtual life. But I did take SOME photos!

Last Thursday:

  1. Blouse: Anthropologie, but I got it secondhand.
  2. Belt: Old Navy (10+ years old)
  3. Skirt: from a friend
  4. Shoes: Kate Spade

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Belt: came with dress
  3. Shoes: Thrifted
  4. Handbag: Kate Spade

And today:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Belt: Kate Spade
  3. Shoes: Kate Spade
  4. Handbag: Kate Spade

I didn’t snap any photo of that gorgeous moon last night, but wasn’t it insane?! I love seeing natures beauty!

Have a wonderful week! Until next time,

Oh my goodness, did you get caught up in the Lilly Pulitzer for Target frenzy?! I didn’t mean too…I just happened to see it, and then it snowballed into buying tons of stuff for ladies all over the country who couldn’t get what they wanted because of the crazy eBay re-sellers!!! Total insanity!!! It’s a cute line, and I did manage to trade some pieces I purchased for the pineapple sandals I had my eye on, so I’m thrilled. But I am soooo tempted to keep this bag for myself:

However, I don’t NEED it. If your looking for this bag, shoot me an email…I’ll hang on to t for a week or so, and then return it if no one wants it. I have a couple of scarves & cosmetic case too:  (The headband is spoken for….but the two scarves, cosmetic case, and large pink bag, I have those. Shoot me an email: Katespadegirlblog at gmail. Happy to ship overseas as well)

What I wore yesterday to church:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade (super duper outlet steal! Under $70)
  2. Belt: JCrew, off eBay
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin (secondhand site. After missing out on a pair on eBay, these popped up on one of the secondhand sites I stalk…I was SO excited!!)
  4. Bracelet: Kate Spade

And today:

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade (outlet)
  2. Top: Old Navy (thrifted)
  3. Belt: JCrew
  4. Skirt: Dress Corilynn
  5. Shoes: Christian Louboutin, strassed by me
  6. Handbag: Kate Spade

Here’s to a great week! Lots of baking for me this week!

Until next time,

It’s Thursday Already?!

This week is flying by!! Anyway, a quick recap, I am keeping up with my “dress a day in may”, except I will have to break it for Saturday, as I realized I don’t have any appropriate dresses that are grey! (Our team colours for Relay for Life) In fact, my lone grey dress is my wedding gown! (It’s more of a cocktail dress, but still)

Cardigan: Old Navy
Dress: Target
Belt: Old Navy
Shoes Manolo Blahnik (I rarely wear them as they aren’t terribly comfortable)

And today:

Dress: Calvin Klein (5+ years old!)
Shoes: Kate Spade

And that’s it for today. I’m back to slaving in the kitchen, cupcakes, cake pops, and white chocolate macadamia cookies are on the “schedule” tonight. Along with some peach ice cream for my kids & husband. Mmmmmm.

Until next time,

Palm Springs!

Yesterday we headed down to Palm Springs to see my parents, something which has become a bit of a school break tradition (I mean, who wouldn’t?! Hello pool time! Oh wait, I don’t do sun OR water!!). Sadly it was a short trip for me and the eldest child, he has AFJROTC starting Monday morning a 5:30am. Oy!!

It was beautiful though:

And that is the extent of photos I took! I was so busy enjoying the sites today and last night hitting all the Kate Spade stores, my phone hardly came out. Which I suppose was a good thing.

What I wore today:

Cardigan: Kate Spade
Top: Old Navy
Belt: handmade, picked up at It’s a Wrap
Skirt: J Crew (goodwill)
Shoes: Nina Jellies, Strassed by me in Violet AB

Oh and wait, what’s that shiny eye-looking thing?? Well, that is a story!!!! We visited the Kate Spade Desert Hills outlet last night and tucked on the clearance shelf is this little guy:

But wait you say, it’s missing an eye! Have no fear, it was tucked inside the bag. And what’s glueing an eye on for me? Even better? He was insanely discounted because of his “winking eye”. Which took all of about 60 seconds to remedy:

Wow, it’s such a gorgeous day today!!! Seriously, can one beat this:

I mean, wow! I wish I could say I spent time out there, but alas, me + sun does not equal a nice equation! My kids are out enjoying it this afternoon though!

My outfits today(I changed it up a bit after lunch):

The photos above do NOT show the true colour of my sweater! These are more accurate (and show how important lighting is for photographs!):

Cardigan: Kate Spade (Woodbury Commons outlet)
Top: Old Navy (NWT, $3 @ goodwill)
Skirt: Corilynn
Shoes: Kate Spade Multi-Glitter Heels (I also own these in a pale rose gold pink)
Handbag: Kate Spade

And of course it seems it’s never a proper Wednesday unless I bake something! I threw together some lemon-raspberry thumbprint cookies for someone quite dear to me. Especially because he consumes large quantities of anything I bake for him!

Hope your week is going stellar!

Until next time,

April Fools Day

First off, any good pranks today? I half had my oldest child convinced he had school today, a final, and that he was late! Very funny. Teenage boys, they are an interesting lot.

Second, some outfit recaps! This was Saturday:

Cardigan: Target
Camisole: Felina
Tank top: Gap (ages old!)
Skirt: Nanette Lepore
Shoes: Violet & Violet AB strass Christian Louboutin flats (done by moi)
Handbag: Coach
Necklace: my knockoff who knows where it’s from but it wishes it was VCA enamel necklace.

And today, although I’ve since shed my shoes and Miss Beatrice is back in rotation, but tucked away somewhere and frankly, I’m too tired to hunt her down:

Cardigan: Old Navy
Dress: Alannah Hill

And for the fun part! I enlisted an old friend to help me with my giveaway drawing:

My first designer item ever, Christian Dior Barbie! (Although my daughter coloured her hair with a pink market once upon a time. It gives her flair!)

She then grabbed a friend for an impromptu photo shoot:

So there you have it. Hayley and Jayna Rae, contact me to claim your prize! Congratulations!

Happy April Fools Day!

Now off to nurse my back, I pulled a muscle or something yesterday. Oops.

Until next time,

Wednesday Indecisiveness & Late Night Philosophy

Today I had the most terrible case of indecisiveness when it came to putting proper clothing on. I daresay it is the lingering effects of being slightly ill. However I pulled it together, as I had errands to run after my morning macaron party.

This is what I first had on:

Cardigan: off eBay (Australian brand)
Skirt: Banana Republic
Shoes: Christian Loubouin Simples

I’m on such a navy & blue kick these days! No idea why, I don’t even own a navy handbag (may have to remedy that, and soon). Emerald green is another favorite of mine recently. Perhaps I am just learning to love colour.

What I ended up wearing today:

Cardigan: Old Navy (I have these in 3 colours and duplicates of each colour.)
Blouse: Nanette Lepore
Camisole: Felina (also worn in my initial pairing)
Skirt: Banana Republic
Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Handbag: Miss Beatrice (Hermes Birkin)

I have realized lately I have been relying very heavily on my Christian Louboutin shoes. I fear my “others” in my closet are most likely feeling neglected and angry. Okay, maybe not as they are just shoes, but I really should try to wear my other shoes. It’s just hard, my Christian Louboutin flats and heels are just so comfortable. Really, like butter on my feet. In fact I’ve recently begun unloading on eBay some unworn shoes and clothing. In my recent closet reorganization I came to the realization that I either need an entire room for my “closet” space, or it’s time to scale back.

I’ve chosen at this point in my life to scale back. It’s hard, yes, but in the long run I think I will be more peaceful when it comes to dressing. I am ashamed to say I counted my cardigans this afternoon. Lets just say it’s not quite into 3-digit numbers, but it is close.

And my newest acquisition, Miss Beatrice. Oh my is she lovely. Excessive, outrageous, and one of 3 items in my fashion “bucket list”. The other two are: Chanel Bag & Burberry Trench. Specifically a pink Chanel bag with a linked heart strap. I saw it watching that show, The OC way back when. One of the girls carried it, and I’ve wanted one ever since!! The Burberry trench, well, it seems like something amazing. Not that I even wear the gorgeous trench coat I already own, but there you go. I probably will end up scratching it off the list eventually.

But acquiring Miss Beatrice has given me pause on “how much stuff do I really need?!”, and I’ve been working on that. I often purchase pieces to resell and then never get them listed. Not this past week!!! I’ve done rather well, netting over $750 in the span of 8 days. It’s encouraged me to keep listing and selling, although I need to set myself a goal, as I do much better with a goal in front of me! Perhaps if I keep it up finding that lovely Chanel bag will be a possibility! We shall see. I have only purchased one thing with my “earnings”, some crystals for a project I have planned for a charity event. Super excited!

So, anyway, it’s been a long day and I am going to turn in. Excited for tomorrow, we have a lovely day out planned with dear friends and our masses of children! I hope you enjoyed my tutorial I posted earlier, as well as my very random late-night musings above.

Don’t forget to enter my giveaway! It ends Sunday at midnight!!

Giveaway Here!

It’s open to all countries, and I have surprises set aside for each prize that I will not reveal until I package to ship. Needless to say, I’m excited to gift something fun and special to two of my readers!
