Red, White & Black

I cannot help it, I am a sucker for black and white, especially in a dress! This was a Nordstrom exclusive in 2014, and even though mine is a little big, belted it works! Especially as I’m still struggling with whiplash and rib pain from the accident earlier this year.

  1. Dress: Kate Spade, via The Real Real
  2. Belt: Thrifted
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin
  4. Handbag: Kate Spade

I love the lace accent, and of course this dress has pockets, one of my favorite things in a dress or skirt.

Until next time,

Wednesday Insanity

Seriously, I have NO OTHER WORDS for today.  I’ll start with outfits from the past few days….

  1. Cardigan: Barney’s
  2. Dress: Kate Spade
  3. Shoes: Jimmy Choo, strassed in Light Siam stones.

Tuesday….where I wore the same dress but swapped out some details from day to evening. Everything is Kate Spade.

  1. Cardigans: Both Kate Spade
  2. Dress: Kate Spade Sonja in Navy Blue
  3. Belts: Both Kate Spade, the first came with the dress, the burgundy one is from Nordstrom.
  4. Shoes: Kate Spade (both pairs), in fact both are suede!!!
  5. Handbag: Kate Spade Rachelle (the smaller version is back at the outlets in this color!!!)
  6. Necklace: Kate Spade (current at the outlets)

Today encompassed 3 ensembles. I started in this to run some errands:

  1. Blouse: Thrifted, no brand.
  2. Skirt: Sandee Royalty
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin

Then I changed to take my oldest for his driving test!!! (Hang on…this is where my day gets REALLY REALLY INSANE)

  1.  Dress: Kate Spade Adette (some outlets may still have this dress on their clearance rack!!!!!)
  2. Belt: Kate Spade (from Nordstrom)
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin (I LOVE these heels!!! That silver bow is sublime)

Then I changed to this….

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade Girls, size Large (on sale right now!!!!)
  2. Dress: Kate Spade Adette
  3. Belt: Kate Spade
  4. Shoes: Jimmy Choo, strassed in Light Siam.

Now you ask…why the outfit change, and WHAT HAPPENED at the driving test.

Well. We pull up and the kid puts the car in park and I am going to get out of the car, as it’s his turn to meet his examiner. But all of a sudden there’s a horrific BAM BOOM BAM and the car lurches forward about 10 feet (it was in PARK mind you!!!. We both freaked thinking it was a bomb or something. But no.

The driver behind us SLAMMED INTO MY CAR. In fact they slammed into my bumper SO HARD, there is an imprint of their license plate embedded in my bumper!! And about 3 punctured holes IN the bumper. People are running and screaming at the kid to put the car in park (I don’t blame them…the car lurched that much!!), and was just plain dizzy and seeing stars. I was unbelted and about to exit the car, so I went flying.

However, as they suggested a reschedule of the test, as I was aching with whiplash, I look over and see my son calm as a cucumber. Ready to take his test. WHICH HE PASSED!!! I’m so proud of him…he got in his first accident AND passed his behind the wheel driving test all within a 45-minute period.

Of course I have who knows what wrong with my back now. I just know I am in considerable pain, dizzy, and have a wicked cool headache. But hey, THE KID PASSED HIS TEST. And he has a wicked cool story to tell.

The bright side? My flamingo survived:

I have an incredible team of Drs already lined up to fix me, and the car will get a shiny new bumper. He also has a really memorable story for the day he got his license. I’m hoping it encourages him to be a very thoughtful driver. It also could have been worse….it could have been my kid who hit someone in line to take their driving test!! I’m thankful for our car insurance company who has already handled so much. Also grateful he took his test in my big SUV, as the other cars would have been seriously injured!! My biggest concern is for my back/neck, I know tomorrow is not going to be fun! Back to flats for a while for me!

Until next time,

Sunday Recap

To say yesterday was exhausting is a major understatement! We were up super early to run to the car repair shop….one of our cars has been giving us fits, and we want to ensure its in top shape when the oldest starts driving in a couple of months (EEKS!!). I did get dressed, but then we ended up with all kinds of household “to do” lists, and then I never caught up from yesterday OR Friday!

Friday I wore this:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade Adette
  2. Belt: Kate Spade (via Nordstrom)
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin

The dress above is a perfect fit, except it started pulling my shoulder strange, and I changed for the afternoon (my ongoing neck/shoulder/lower back problems need to go bye bye!) into this:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade Gayle (outlet exclusive)
  2. Belt: Bealls of Florida (kids department)
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin

Yesterday I threw this on (at 5am):

  1. Cardigan: Boden
  2. Dress: BananaRepublic
  3. Belt: eBay
  4. Shoes: Crystal AB strassed Manolos

And today, for church I wore this:

  1. Cardigan: Tracy Reese (5 years old)
  2. Dress: Milly
  3. Belt: JCrew
  4. Shoes: Kate Spade
  5. Necklace: Ben-Amun

Don’t forget, my giveaway ends tonight at midnight PST!!

Until next time,

P.S. Please note that I would appreciate it if you didn’t use my images for your Kate Spade eBay auctions. All my images are taken and owned by me and I do take intellectual copyright laws very seriously. Same goes for Instagram. Plus, it simply isn’t very polite!

Florals & Chickens

Today I pulled out a dress I have only worn once before…a sample piece I picked up off The Real Real last year:

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade (outlet, under $30)
  2. Dress: Kate Spade
  3. Belt: Kate Spade via Nordstrom
  4. Shoes: Christian Louboutin, Strassed by me in Violet crystals
  5. Handbag: Kate Spade Rachelle

And I bought the kids these at Walmart this morning….I couldn’t resist:

They are like stretchy sticky things you flick. The boys LOVE THEM. Okay, and I had fun flicking them as well. Aren’t we all just big kids?!

Don’t forget about my giveaway! Enter here

Until next time,

Holiday Fun

This evening we had a Christmas party with our bible study, and so I used the excuse that I “had” to bake for some other last minute orders this week as an excuse to go ALL out on sweets for tonight!

Peppermint cupcakes, peppermint bark, almond roca, sugar cookies (I also made several dozen for the kids and I to decorate this weekend!), and of course the french macarons I whipped up yesterday! (So sorry I don’t have a recipe that is “fool” proof. Mine is perfect in MY kitchen, I’ve never gotten it to work so well anywhere else!!!) So much fun! Bonus? My Christmas candy for Christmas Eve is now complete and in the freezer. SCORE!

What I wore to bake (and dance around the kitchen of course!):

Cardigan: Barney’s Warehouse Sale
Sweater: Kate Spade
Scarf: Kate Spade
Pants: Banana Republic (oh why did I not buy a backup pair of these?!)
Shoes: Christian Louboutin (recent eBay find for super duper cheap! Was breaking them in this morning)

And I cleaned up for tonight. I mean, any excuse to bring the Christmas Cheer, I go for it!

Cardigan: JCrew
Dress: Kate Spade Emma (in red! thank you Nordies)
Necklace: Kate Spade
Shoes: Jimmy Choo, Strassed in light Siam by me.

And my shoe project, all painted and some strass on it:

I am SO EXCITED for these!! Although I’m honestly wondering if I should do the “Love” in clear OR a light sapphire Crystal. Decisions decisions!!! I do aspire to finish these by the end of the weekend. *cross fingers*

Only 11 days until Christmas! Are you ready?!

Until next time,
