Mid-Week Musings

Fall is here, and it’s been in the mid-high 90’s all week. Crazy weather!!!

Some outfit recaps, starting with Sunday (as Saturday was spent cleaning my house and napping)

Cardigan: Kate Spade
Dress: Kate Spade Lyric
Shoes: Jimmy Choo, strassed by me

Monday….go to work day (while my husband stayed home! Rotten that he has vacation and I don’t. Oops!!)

Dress: Kate Spade
Shoes: Christian Louboutin

Yesterday, and I may be a little crazy as our only activity was…..going to my sons’ cross country meet!

Dress: Lela Rose (Target/NM collab)
Belt: Anthropologie
Shoes: Nina, Strassed by me

And today, I kept it simple and wore what I wore last Friday (I’m even using the same photos)

Cardigan: Target
Dress: French Connection
Shoes: Christian Louboutin, Strassed by me

I was able to pop into the Fashion Island Kate Spade store on Sunday and see the new collection! These are my two favorites:

Train Clutch & Coinpurse

Raccoon Coin Purse (isn’t he the sweetest?!):

Our Fall Break is nearly over, I’m kind of excited to get back to the “normal” schedule. It always throws me off when the kids are on break and I still have to get up early to do whatever it is I have to do! I classify myself at a “stay at home mom”, but the reality is, I own a business and work a part-time (ish) job, so while I’m there for the kids for whatever they need/school stuff/etc, it seems like I’m not home very often! I wouldn’t have it any other way. I enjoy the “go go go”! Life is so exciting, it’s like “what’s next?!”.

And dare I mention the fact that Christmas is about two and a half months away?! Squee! I’m done with most of my gift buying, but I can’t wait to wrap everything and see those faces when they open them! (I love buying gifts for people. Way more than actually receiving them.) So excited for this year!

Have a great week!

Until next time,

Wednesday Doldrums

It’s summer, it’s hot, and it’s the middle of the week. If July is this bad, I can only imagine what August is going to bring!!!

What I wore to work today:

Dress: David’s Bridal, Thrifted
Brooch: off eBay
Shoes: Nina Jellies, painted & strassed

I know, oh so boring! It’s just one of those weeks I suppose, keeping cool and enjoying summer break!

Don’t forget, I announced the winners last Friday of my summer giveaway. I haven’t heard from either of them, I’ll give them until Monday, and I’ll have to pick new winners!

1. Tresjade
2. Sophia

Send me an emails ladies with your shipping information!

Until next time,

Memorial Day

To all those who have served (including my husband!), those serving, and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to ensure our freedom, thank you.

Our day has been low-key, just some errands, my oldest performing at an AFJROTC flag ceremony, & some pie-making:

Raspberry, and then a few strawberry-raspberry. This evening after dinner I plan to whip up some strawberry ice cream (why is homemade ice cream so much better??) Last night I made Andes mint ice cream:

My outfit today:

Dress: Banana Republic (goodwill)
Shoes: Nina Jellies Strassed in Violet Crystal
Bag: Kate Spade (my new obsession, tiny coin-style bags. My shoulders appreciate it)

And the highlight of errand running today? Seeing the “cookie truck”! It’s a local handyman who drives an old Mother’s Cookies truck. Always cracks me up when I spot it around town:

Never a dull moment! Happy Memorial Day y’all! Hug those loved ones tight, and remember to thank those who have served.

Until next time,

On Fridays We Wear Pink

Soooo, since Wednesday was the 10-year anniversary of Mean Girls, let’s have Pink Friday!! (Although I much much prefer Clueless. Anyway!

Yes, I know I wore this twice last week, but I love this dress!

Cardigan: Target
Dress: Kate Spade
Belt: Thrift
Shoes: Nina
Handbag: Kate Spade

We are taking the kids out tonight for my two oldest, so I imagine I will end up changing into a dress with pockets, as after sinker we are headed to play mini-golf while the kids make themselves dizzy on carnival rides tonight. And pockets are soo much easier to toss my phone, coin purse & keys in and be hands free all night!

Oh and I delivered these today:

Mmmmmm. Happy Friday y’all!!!

Until next time,

Palm Springs!

Yesterday we headed down to Palm Springs to see my parents, something which has become a bit of a school break tradition (I mean, who wouldn’t?! Hello pool time! Oh wait, I don’t do sun OR water!!). Sadly it was a short trip for me and the eldest child, he has AFJROTC starting Monday morning a 5:30am. Oy!!

It was beautiful though:

And that is the extent of photos I took! I was so busy enjoying the sites today and last night hitting all the Kate Spade stores, my phone hardly came out. Which I suppose was a good thing.

What I wore today:

Cardigan: Kate Spade
Top: Old Navy
Belt: handmade, picked up at It’s a Wrap
Skirt: J Crew (goodwill)
Shoes: Nina Jellies, Strassed by me in Violet AB

Oh and wait, what’s that shiny eye-looking thing?? Well, that is a story!!!! We visited the Kate Spade Desert Hills outlet last night and tucked on the clearance shelf is this little guy:

But wait you say, it’s missing an eye! Have no fear, it was tucked inside the bag. And what’s glueing an eye on for me? Even better? He was insanely discounted because of his “winking eye”. Which took all of about 60 seconds to remedy:

Ooo, I cannot even begin to tell you how thrilled I am that today is Friday! Because in addition to it being Friday, it’s now officially spring AND spring break starts today when the kids get out of school!

Sadly I have to work today, but I’m still embracing pastels and this gorgeous weather:

Cardigan: Kate Spade (THANKYOU to Woodbury Commons outlet! It was equivalent to the price of a target cardigan!!)
Dress: Calvin Klien
Belt: It’s a Wrap (it was made by someone)
Shoes: Strassed Nina Jelly flats
Necklace: Target (on sale!)

I have to share how much I adore Kate Spade cardigans! They wear beautifully and I hand-wash them. This and the pink one I wore two days ago both came from the Woodbury Commons outlet, a huge thank you AND shout out to the fabulous ladies who work there! They are awesome!

Have a wonderful day!!

Until next time,

Navy & White + Purple Sparkle

Happy Friday! *twirls with glee* (yes I do this, and often!)

It’s a beautiful sunny morning, and it’s shaping up to be an amazon weekend. For you Disneyland fans, today is “Monsterous Summer”, in which Disney parks stay open for 24 hours. Ohhhh how I longed to go! But then I saw photographs friends of mine started posting at 6am (it’s 6am-6am!!), and realized it was a very good thing I have a packed day close to home!! Perhaps I will convince my crew to hit the parks on Monday morning.

Anyway, just had to mention that. I still secretly wish I was there.

My outfit today (I have some casual meetings)

Top: Kohls
Skirt: Kate Spade
Shoes: Nina, painted and Strassed by me
Handbag: Coach

I’m super excited for tomorrow! I’m taking my oldest child with me to shop in LA and see a play tomorrow. I’m also going to try and hunt down some food trucks. 14-yr old boys, they love to eat! Might as well enjoy some good food, right? And hit some of my favorite little treasure spots for various things.

Any big plans this weekend?

Until next time,
