The Horror

It finally happened. I’ve had cell phones for 16 years, and I have never lost or had one stolen.

Until Friday night. When my beloved phone was pickpocketed right out of my purse in a Nike store (NOTE: they have TERRIBLE customer service, even though this is a problem IN this particular store. I am not pleased right now, and we spend a lot of money there!!). Oh and note to self: NEVER TURN OFF FIND MY IPHONE. Gah. Lesson learned. Luckily it did get on a wifi connection and wiped itself eventually. I’m mainly mad about the two months of photos I lost. And the reaction at the Nike store where it happened. Just terrible. I did get a replacement, nothing was compromised (talk about furiously changing all my passwords in the car on my husbands phone while we raced to Verizon to replace it! The Verizon folks were AWESOME), just all my lost photos. Yes, cloud, something I am now using. Still.

So, watch your purse ladies….and never turn off “find my iPhone”! Because yes, I would have been the deranged woman chasing the thieves down.

That said, some outfits, photos taken with my new shiny phone(the camera is quite nice actually!):

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Belt: secondhand
  3. Shoes: Kate Spade

  1. Dress: Adrianna Papell
  2. Shoes: Christian Louboutin
  3. Necklace: vintage pearls & brooch

  1. Dress: Halston Heritage
  2. Necklace: Target
  3. Shoes: Sam Edleman
  4. Handbag: Kate Spade

Life has died down a bit, school is out next week and summer activities shall commence! Still working on some fun family outings, it will be interesting to only have 3 kids all summer, as our oldest will be away at camp for 8 weeks! I’m so excited for him!!

Until next time,

Coming up Roses

I hunted this skirt for ages, finally finding it in my size on evil bay, I mean eBay. I LOVE IT! Pink? Flowers? AND SEQUINS?! Yes please!!

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Skirt: Kate Spade
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin Simple 100
  4. Handbag: Kate Spade Rachelle in Ballet Slipper

I probably could have worn a bolder colour of cardigan, but I love the flower detail on this one! I spent the majority of my day in the kitchen making macarons for orders, which means my reality was socks, not my Louboutin heels!

Sorry about the change in format, I updated WordPress today and am still trying to work out what it’s all about!

Until next time,

I’m so clever, making up ridiculous words! Today was a two-outfit day. Why? Because what I threw on this morning, I honestly was NOT feeling it, and we had a concert T the kids’ school to attend tonight, and so I swapped my “bleh” outfit for something a little more “snazzy”.

What I wore to bake & run errands:

Cardigan: Kate Spade
Blouse: Banana Republic
Skirt: Vintage (Saks fifth avenue)
Belt: Anthropologie
Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Handbag: Kate Spade

You see I was “fired” from a charity “job” for this upcoming weekend. Which means the dessert for 150+ people went OFF my “task” list this week(as did prepping linens/decor and the task next week of putting everything away & the expense to launder everything!!), so I decided this morning to bake purely for ME. Selfish reasons really! Of course we have parties to attend this week, and so my selfish cookies will find their way to a pretty China plate. But it was delightful to bake what I wanted just because! (So rare!!) I made French Macarons, peppermint, orange, almond, and raspberry-pomegranite. All my favorite flavours!! And they came out to perfection:

Tomorrow I’m going to make some iced sugar cookies and peppermint crunch cupcakes for my daughter’s choir class. I figure since I have the itch to bake, I will bless those who actually appreciate the beautiful things I turn out!

And then I threw this on for the concert tonight:

Cardigan: JCrew (kids)
Dress: Kate Spade
Handbag: Kate Spade
Shoes: Kate Spade

Yes, an interesting combination, but I figure it’s the holidays, and I already dress fairly eccentric for where we live, might as well throw some wild glittery shoes & matching bag on. Why not?!

And I finally broke down and started on this project (having an entire weekend open up makes it easier to start, as I like to finish within a week or so, I hate strass projects laying around for weeks at a time!!):

I was really hesitant to paint the cork, but I am SO GLAD I DID IT!!! I think the blue & clear Crystal is going to be a brilliant contrast. I’ve wanted “Love” flats for ages, and Strassed ones at that, so I’m excited for these!! I’m on a navy blue /deep blue kick right now, so these will appeal to that colour addiction.

Speaking of, have you see the new Kate Spade arrivals?! The colours!!!!! I’m dying over the new Madison Avenue dresses, but holy cow the price points have gotten seriously out of control! I love the colour palette though, it’s gorgeous. I’m interested to see what Spring brings next year and how far from the spring/summer collection shown at NYFW the actual retail pieces end up being. Perhaps I am about to be on a Kate Spade dress ban? (One could hope? Seriously, my collection is a little out of control!!!)

Until next time,
