Meet Arlowe

A week ago the weather was glorious and my mother decided to drag everyone outside to do a little yard work. (Sorely needed, our yard is OUT of control!!) While clearing my rosebeds the orange tabby cat who’s been hanging around our yard decided to “adopt” us. Like, he IS NEVER EVER LEAVING.

Kids came up with the name “Arlowe”. My daughter has attached herself to him, and while his preference seems to be me (why?!), he will settle for her:

Seriously, these two lay on the floor with the front door open all the time (if you shut the door Arlowe freaks out). So, we now have a cat. I took him today to make sure he wasn’t microchipped (he wasn’t!), and to get him shots. To make him even more of a perfect cat? He loved riding in the car. WHAT?!

On the way home he got the carrier open and was sitting in my center console watching the world fly by him. When I asked him to get back in his carrier, he looked at me, gave me a single meow, and crawled back in the carrier. Like seriously, has anyone ever had a cat like this? I am glad he prefers the outside, as my allergies are already bonkers wig him around, I don’t think I could deal with him inside 24/7. He’s the biggest love bug I’ve ever encountered, especially for a previously “feral” cat! I think someone dumped him….he’s so careful with his claws and everything, and he loves the kids. Sigh. And don’t worry, just because he’s an outside cat, I still picked up a quality cat food system!

We hit Disneyland again this last week….my youngest had a field trip, this was a sweet moment I captured of him pushing his sister around:

Then working on a puzzle with my dad (they always have a puzzle in the shop on Main Street!)

It was a fun day, even with the heat and crowds. We are very fortunate to have the ability to do all the things we do. Our recent situation with my daughter has reminded all of us that we only have one life, and we really should live it to the fullest we can! I am grateful for everything!

Until next time,

Jules

Hello March

So it’s been a month since my last post. Right after my last post my daughter had a medical emergency at school, and our new “normal” we had just adjusted too was turned utterly UPSIDE DOWN. I have always respected parents who take care of sick children, knowing it’s difficult and being unable to imagine what they are going through. Well, now I understand. Watching your 12-year old daughter go from this vibrant child to requiring a wheelchair and spending much of our time in Drs offices is the most difficult thing EVER. It sure does make you reflect on priorities!! Oh, and pants. Because sometimes trying to wrangle a wheelchair in a skirt is very very difficult!

Spots!

Wait, is it spots or animal print?! You decide:

  1. Shirt: Kate Spade Broome Street
  2. Skirt. Kate Spade
  3. Belt: Kohls
  4. Shoes: Jimmy Choo

The t-shirt is part of the new Broome Street collection, and it comes in white too! Isn’t it adorable? It’s a very thick cotton, and the bow is the same material on the skirt of the dress I wore yesterday! My skirt is from several seasons ago, however I picked it up secondhand last year. It could pass for spots, but it’s really animal print. I am sad that I have the outlet version, which means there is a lack of pockets.

Until next time,

Jules

Mondayyyyyyyy

Oh boy, I am DRAGGING today. We kind of changed how we “do business” in the house (meaning:FINALLY getting organized!), so add in me recovering from a cold AND spending yesterday in LA picking my oldest up from the airport, yeah. I’m exhausted! Oh, and there’s a RAGING wild fire about 30 miles south of my house, and we are right in the smoke plume. ICK!!

I got some beautiful photos with my DLSR last night, I need to download them and post them. They really show how destructive nature can be!!

Yesterday I wore this:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Belt: Oscar de la Renta
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin
  4. Necklace: Swarovski

And today:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade Adette
  2. Belt: Kate Spade (old!)
  3. Shoes: Jimmy Choo

The smoke is so bad school was actually cancelled tomorrow (I think it should have been today too, it was BAD!), so we may be total “lounge lizards” and spend the day in front of the TV! I’m looking forward to it, I haven’t had a true “do nothing” day in several weeks. I really need one!

Until next time,

Jules

July!

Happy July! The month where we celebrate the freedoms we enjoy year round as Americans. How are you planning on spending your 4th of July? My husband and I are in the unique position of being kid-free this year (WHAT?!), and so we are skipping out on anything traditional and I am dragging him to Disneyland for an adult day of adventure. (Poor man, he is a saint) Until then, I still have to be a responsible adult, as I have a wedding looming + several cake orders to prep for before we go!

Today I wore this:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Belt: secondhand
  3. Shoes: Jimmy Choo
  4. Necklace: thrifted pearls with a vintage brooch

Speaking of wedding prep….I spent last night sorting candy for the candy bar:

Sigh. I know. I have issues. If only my overflowing closet looked as tidy as these little piles.

Until next time,

Jules
