Weekend Recap

Another weekend come and gone! I’ve been pretty much feet to the pavement since last Wednesday, between a road trip (15 hours in the car on Friday!), strass commissions that have a DEADLINE, and volunteering at the Star Wars Half Marathon yesterday at Disneyland! Eeks! But here’s some outfit recaps!

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Skirt: Kate Spade
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin

Friday…my husband and I had to attend to a family matter, which required formal business attire. I have someone amazing in my life who loaned me a KILLER bag for the event:

  1.  Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Skirt: Kate Spade (from the early collection)
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin
  4. Handbag: Hermes Crocodile Birkin, 35cm

The BAG! The BAG! Insane right?! I wish I had gotten better photographs, but I have to admit I was slightly terrified of it the whole day! (I returned it quickly) I don’t know that I would ever BUY one of these, but it sure was fun to tote it around all day, talk about a statement piece! Oh and it matched my favorite red heels. But it was heavy and is quite cumbersome, so I don’t know. I have some smaller Birkin bags (that I rarely carry), perhaps I just haven’t grown into the Hermes brand yet! But for a day?! Sure why not! It was kind of fun being the borrower, as I’m normally the one loaning pieces from my closet!

Sunday (as Saturday was a PJ day, after 15-16 hours in the car on Friday!), I changed into this after we worked the final water station at the half marathon:

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Skirt: Kate Spade (I couldn’t resist repeating it…after hunting for it for a couple of years!)
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin, strassed in Alexandrite AB stones

And finally today: (please pardon the lint!)

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Belt: secondhand
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin

For all you Disney lovers, the 13-mile marker!

Hope your weekend was grand! I know I’m excited to have tomorrow to stay home and relax, I need it.

Until next time,

Owl Life

Owls! Not a bandwagon I saw myself jumping on, until I saw this dress. And HAD to have it. Luckily I got it for a killer price (and had just sold enough items to pay for it!), that it didn’t affect my pocketbook. But I may have begged, borrowed, and/or cajoled my husband into buying it if I hadn’t had the extra money in my paypal account.

Yes, it’s that cute. I present, “The Owl”:

Dress: Kate Spade (eBay)
Slip: (lace peeking out of the bottom of the skirt) Vintage (thrifted)
Shoes: Christian Louboutin (eBay)
Handbag: Hermes
Hair Barrette: Kate Spade
Necklace: 16th birthday present from my Dad.

And in other news, it’s hot today! Proof:

Crazy weather!! Oh well, I suppose I enjoyed not wearing a cardigan today, especially as it would have really taken away from the adorable-ness that is my dress. Only downside is it’s silk, which means I can’t go anywhere this afternoon unless I change as it’s super windy!!! Oh well. I’m going to take the wind as a sign to stay home the rest of the day. Not to mention, I have like 200 cookies to bake.

Don’t forget about my giveaway, details on how to enter here:

Until next time,

A Magical Day

Today was a dream come true! A very special (okay, downright AMAZING!!) person granted The Engineer and I the opportunity to have lunch at the super secret Club 33 in Disneyland. Nestled above New Orleans Square, it’s one of those “must-do” for us diehard Disney fans, however nearly impossible to actually go and do.

So of course I had to get there at some point!

My outfit for today:

Dress: Kate Spade
Shoes: Montana Strass Christian Louboutin
Handbag: Hermes Birkin
Necklace: LA find last week.

And photos from our lunch date. Us on the stairs:

Mmmm, nearly 12 hours later and I’m still dreaming of the fabulous food. I believe the experience made the food better than it probably really was. But I have no complaints, in my eyes, it was worth every penny we forked over. Just being tucked away in that quiet corner was just amazing!!

I did take a bathroom selfie (I couldn’t resist, that mirror was gorgeous!!), and while I was waiting for our souvenirs to be brought out:

And I also tucked two yummy sugar cookies into my bag for later (hey, I took them off the dessert bar, did not want to waste them!!)

I finally have a pair of Disney ears, and snagged this lovely pin for a friend who is super excited:

We finished our date with a trip to the Tiki Room, then raced home with full bellies to be parents again! I had rehearsals at church this evening, and still managed to come home and whip these up…

Lemon-Raspberry Thumbprint cookies:

A truly magical day!! I have more Disney stuff to share from last weekend, and this coming Sunday will be our last trip for a while, as our passes expire and we have chosen to not renew for a little bit. Even with over 45 trips in the past year, I have still not seen/done/experienced everything!! I need more time in a day, or to perhaps live a wee bit closer!!

Until next time,

No one, and I mean NO ONE does fireworks like Disney!!!! Amazing!

Tuesday morning I was invited to attend a coffee master tasting at a local Starbucks (much needed after the late night at Disney the night before!!!!). It was SO amazing!!!

All that espresso really got me going, Tuesday was insane!! Best part? By the end my dear friend stuffed herself into a bag (we are costuming an event at our church):

I bought an amazing dress to wear later this year, I’m super excited about it, especially the shoes I’m working on:

And today? I bought a lampshade:

With that, I shall leave you. I will work on updating more often as I continue to get into the swing of our new schedule.

Until next time,

Thursday Blues

I have been so busy this week that I’ve not taken the time to take a photograph of any outfit, much less write something! I have quite a few last minute orders, and have been baking baking baking all week. And recovering from a decision I made to do some light workouts, just to tone up with summer coming. I didn’t realize how out of shape I am! Whoops!

Anyway, my outfit today, feeling rather blue, with all the events going on in our country:

Cardigan: Ann Taylor
Dress: Calvin Klein
Shoes: Jimmy Choo
Handbag: Hermes

I added a brooch to my pearls for some fun. I was costuming the high school girls last night for their play this weekend, and I attached lots of brooches to necklaces!! It’s something different anyway.

My heart goes out to those in Boston as well as the tiny town of West, Texas. Such a week of tragedy!!

Until next time,

Thursday Blues

I am feeling rather blue today, it’s super windy and it seems to me that there is a strange, not quite sure how to describe it, but it’s just the sense of something is going to happen. Something wild and strange. Perhaps I just didn’t get enough sleep last night!

I wasn’t thrilled with my shoe choice this morning, but I ran out of time, and so grabbed my most recent “standby” shoes & bag. I was going to change by bag as well, but again, time ran out on me this morning!!

Cardigan: Target
Dress: Trina Turk, thrifted
Belt: The Cute and Sparkly Wife
Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Handbag: Hermes

And that my friends, is all I have for today! I scored some amazing deals on a quick thrifting trip this afternoon, but those I will save for another post. I have yet to decide what I’m keeping and what I’m going to resell. My operation “sell off on eBay” is going quite well!

Don’t forget to enter my giveaway , it ends on Sunday!

Until next time,

Wednesday Indecisiveness & Late Night Philosophy

Today I had the most terrible case of indecisiveness when it came to putting proper clothing on. I daresay it is the lingering effects of being slightly ill. However I pulled it together, as I had errands to run after my morning macaron party.

This is what I first had on:

Cardigan: off eBay (Australian brand)
Skirt: Banana Republic
Shoes: Christian Loubouin Simples

I’m on such a navy & blue kick these days! No idea why, I don’t even own a navy handbag (may have to remedy that, and soon). Emerald green is another favorite of mine recently. Perhaps I am just learning to love colour.

What I ended up wearing today:

Cardigan: Old Navy (I have these in 3 colours and duplicates of each colour.)
Blouse: Nanette Lepore
Camisole: Felina (also worn in my initial pairing)
Skirt: Banana Republic
Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Handbag: Miss Beatrice (Hermes Birkin)

I have realized lately I have been relying very heavily on my Christian Louboutin shoes. I fear my “others” in my closet are most likely feeling neglected and angry. Okay, maybe not as they are just shoes, but I really should try to wear my other shoes. It’s just hard, my Christian Louboutin flats and heels are just so comfortable. Really, like butter on my feet. In fact I’ve recently begun unloading on eBay some unworn shoes and clothing. In my recent closet reorganization I came to the realization that I either need an entire room for my “closet” space, or it’s time to scale back.

I’ve chosen at this point in my life to scale back. It’s hard, yes, but in the long run I think I will be more peaceful when it comes to dressing. I am ashamed to say I counted my cardigans this afternoon. Lets just say it’s not quite into 3-digit numbers, but it is close.

And my newest acquisition, Miss Beatrice. Oh my is she lovely. Excessive, outrageous, and one of 3 items in my fashion “bucket list”. The other two are: Chanel Bag & Burberry Trench. Specifically a pink Chanel bag with a linked heart strap. I saw it watching that show, The OC way back when. One of the girls carried it, and I’ve wanted one ever since!! The Burberry trench, well, it seems like something amazing. Not that I even wear the gorgeous trench coat I already own, but there you go. I probably will end up scratching it off the list eventually.

But acquiring Miss Beatrice has given me pause on “how much stuff do I really need?!”, and I’ve been working on that. I often purchase pieces to resell and then never get them listed. Not this past week!!! I’ve done rather well, netting over $750 in the span of 8 days. It’s encouraged me to keep listing and selling, although I need to set myself a goal, as I do much better with a goal in front of me! Perhaps if I keep it up finding that lovely Chanel bag will be a possibility! We shall see. I have only purchased one thing with my “earnings”, some crystals for a project I have planned for a charity event. Super excited!

So, anyway, it’s been a long day and I am going to turn in. Excited for tomorrow, we have a lovely day out planned with dear friends and our masses of children! I hope you enjoyed my tutorial I posted earlier, as well as my very random late-night musings above.

Don’t forget to enter my giveaway! It ends Sunday at midnight!!
