Happy Halloween!

I love when Halloween falls on a weekend night, makes the evening not feel so crazy rushed!!!

This morning I had some errands, and of course the school run. Yes, I am THAT mom who does full hair/makeup/outfit to drop kids off at school. Not for every mom, but it really makes my day go smoother and I just feel better. Crazy I know, but the insane things I do to ignore my arthritis pain as much as possible!

Sweater: No Label, picked up at Its a Wrap, it’s from the Desperate Housewives set (100% cashmere, it was chilly this morning!)
Skirt: Vintage (love this navy skirt!)
Shoes: Christian Louboutin Navy Simples

I scored some great finds at some small thrift shops by my house, the best was these:

I LOVE vintage necklaces, and the sparkly clasps are lovely!!! Less than $5 for both!

My husband and I went dressed as a “couple” this year:

The idea stemmed from his new glasses, and sort of grew from there! I couldn’t find a pocket protector (and him being an engineer, I’m not quite sure why he doesn’t HAVE one!!!), but he made do with his pile of writing instruments. My dress is vintage (thrifted, under $7), and the fur stole a friend gave me. Shoes are Kate Spade, not the ones I would have liked to wear, but when you ignore your pedicure, closed toed shoes are required! Plus it was quite chilly tonight, I think fall has finally arrived.

Hope you had a wonderful Halloween! Can you believe we have a time change this weekend?! Eeks!!

Until next time,

Happy Halloween!!

I believe the title says it all. However, some highlights from my day.

My costume (worn all day, because I’m crazy like that!!):

My husband was a good sport and went out this evening as Danny to my Sandra Dee. Sadly no photographs were taken. I’m still shocked I got him in the jeans I got him into!!!

And this evening I carved my very first pumpkin (that I remember anyway!!). Wait, it’s Halloween night, why is this crazy girl carving a pumpkin NOW?! Because there is a contest going on at my husbands work and the deadline was extended for his office until tomorrow morning. Hey, the grand prize is an IPad, I simply HAD to give it a go!

So, I present my “safety theme” pumpkin. Yoda in a hard hat:

I highly doubt my pumpkin will win the grand prize, but it should win the office prize. Hey, not bad for a first-timer!! Okay, perhaps I should do well, being as I make cakes and sparkly artsy things. But, a knife and dremel tool can be daunting! I’m only sad the kids won’t see it!

Hope your Halloween was scary and fun! Ours was!! Now it’s off to bed in anticipation for November AND a time change. I also have some super amazing cake balls to make this weekend! And shoes to ship to a dear friend.

Oh my, I better get some rest! Going to be another busy Friday!!!

Happy Halloween!!!

Until next time,

Tonight, wow, my kids got SO much candy! Wowzers. Insane.

So, as promised, my costume:

The dress & belt are thrifted. I paid $5 for the dress, an $1 for the belt. The dress, I bought two years ago, and this is the first I’ve had it on! I actually think its worth wearing just to wear. It’s a vintage Saks Fifth Avenue dress. So fun!!

These are the shoes I wore:

Back of my hair (it’s a hairpiece I tend to bust out at Halloween. My daughter or I have used this the past 5 years!). The sparkle is my Kate Spade Dragonfly statement necklace tossed in my hair:

And my jewelry I bought years ago for a wedding I attended. I believe I bought it at Nordstrom, but I honestly couldn’t tell you. We are talking over 6 years ago!!

And what was I? Who knows! I just know my youngest said “oh mommy, you look SO pretty! I bet you will get the mostest candy!!”. Can’t beat that reaction!!

And my black cat & superhero:

They didn’t want to be near each other. I love all the funny stages kids go through!! I wish I could have talked them into more elaborate costumes, but they picked what they wanted. And were thrilled. Heck, they have been wearing them since Sunday!

All in all, a good time was had by all. And now the candy consumption begins. They got soooo much, and I would wager they only went to 40-50 houses? Insane!!!

How was your Halloween? Mine is now over, I’ll let everyone else party tonight. Me and my bad back/neck are going to crash. Ugh

Until next time,
