Weekend in Review + Big Announcement

This past weekend was unique, in that we had only our eldest child with us. Who needs LOTS of hours behind the wheel. So he was the driver and my husband and I inflicted that unique torture only parents can…SHOPPING TORTURE! I remember it as a kid! I think it’s a rite of passage!!

Saturday I wore this:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade (super old!)
  2. Belt: eBay
  3. Shoes: Nina, painted and Strassed by me
  4. Handbag: Kate Spade

We bought lots, mainly sweaters and polo shirts at the Gap for $1.79 for my husband:

And ties for $1.97 at Banana Republic:

 Sunday I wore this:

  1. Cardigan: Boden
  2. Dress: Kate Spade (outlet exclusive here in the US, available now)
  3. Belt: Kate Spade
  4. Shoes: Kate Spade

I snagged my daughter this at Target for a mere $10 (my husband thought it was Kate Spade!)

And today I wore this:

  1. Cardigan: Boden (same as yesterday)
  2. Dress: Kate Spade
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin
  4. Handbag: Kate Spade

I also bought wine based on my purse:

Hey, the oldest child went to camp this morning, so I planned a romantic Italian-themed night for dinner! Picnic style! I doubt we will open this bottle, but it seemed like a really fun idea at Costco. Along with everything else I bought that I didn’t need. Don’t. Go. To. Costco. Hungry.

Oh and the crowing moment of my day? I finally got my act together and picked giveaway winners!!! Ta-da!

In order, 1st, 2nd and 3rd: (top to bottom)

BevCruz from Instagram, JeanJu from a blog comment, and ladrini from Instagram. I’m so high tech, this is how it’s done…names written on paper pulled from a Sugarfina candy cube:

Ladies please email me with your address so I can send your prizes!!

Until next time,

Target & Neiman Marcus Collaboration

So, today was the big day, Target had their new collaboration out.

But I had actually forgotten about it!!

So, I got dressed (errands, church this evening, etc):

Cardigan: Banana Republic
Skirt: Gap, thrifted
Shoes: Kate Spade
Handbag (not pictured): Kate Spade (my black square one)
Necklace: Vintage (was my great-grandmother’s)

And off I went. My various errands, with a trip to Target for a white scarf for tomorrow. Which meant a trip around the store. I turned a corner, and saw the display! The clothes are gorgeous (and it seems to be a super small selection of items, at $100 for a dress, I was shocked this particular Target had any of it!!), but I wasn’t tempted once I saw price tags. I’ve just gotten too spoiled with eBay, thrifting, and other secondhand options for designer clothing.

Here’s some shots. My favorite was the girls’ dresses!! But $70? For my 8-yr old? Naw!

Were you tempted by anything today? I have to say, outside of shopping for other people, I’ve not been buying things for me. I’m trying to wear/use more of what I already own.

Hope your weekend is wonderful!

Until next time,

Weekend Recap

So, I think for now I will skip blogging on the weekends, and instead do a weekend recap on Monday mornings.

If you follow my Instagram, you already know I was in Orange County this past weekend. Let me say, it was hot!!!! Crazy hot!

Saturday we ran around, went to the beach, did our best to wear the kids out.

I just had on a $3 sundress from Target, frankly something I would not normally wear! So I took a shadow snap.

And this, sand toes!

And then yesterday we went to South Coast Plaza, and I saw these:

Animal-print Elisa 100’s. Soooo gorgeous. I didn’t buy them, but I soooo wanted to!!!

But I did find this dress, $4.50 at Goodwill somewhere down there:

It’s Ann Taylor, and my sandals are Kate Spade.

And then today, I am headed to work:

Cardigan: Banana Republic
Top: Target
Skirt: Gap, $2.75 @ Goodwill
Shoes: Green Christian Louboutin flats
Handbag: Kate Spade

And my bag & shoes:

Whew! Anyway, have a wonderful week!

Until next time,
