Holiday Weekend

Woot! Hello 3-day weekend! I’ve had kind of an interesting week, some major changes happening in my world and when I have things going on I tend to lose myself either in a pair of shoes or baking in the kitchen. This week it was baking! TONS of French Macarons!

Just a few of the many MANY dozens I made. There is something fulfilling about seeing them all lined up!

Yesterday I wore this:

  1. Blouse: Forever 21 (old)
  2. Skirt & Belt: Kate Spade
  3. Shoes: Kate Spade

And today:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade Wrap Dress (circa 2010-2011 I believe? It’s an older one!)
  2. Shoes: Kate Spade (also older, they are a kitten heel)

Did you see that sale is an additional 25% off this weekend online? I have some gift cards, so I may pick up one or two smaller items, but I am limiting myself for the month of September, as I went a LITTLE overboard for the month of August. I have one more big order coming from Kate Spade next week as well. OOPS.

I really need to cull my closet a bit more. I started a “closet” on Instagram ( Right here ) to unload pieces that I no longer wear, use, or items I purchased for someone at the outlets, and then was never paid for them and often times forget to return them. I know holidays are coming and I do have a few NWT items. I still need to bite the bullet and get rid of dresses I know I will NEVER EVER wear, but keep for sentimental reasons. Sigh. I’m totally a fashion hoarder!

Until next time,

Jules

Summer

It’s still summer, and it still FEELS like summer, August is typically hot and humid and this year is no exception. On the bright side, it means I can wear linen and not worry about wrinkles!!!!

  1. Dress: Kate Spade (WAY old, from one of the first collections. I have this same dress with a different trim too)
  2. Belt: Oscar de la Renta
  3. Shoes: Kate Spade Eleni In Blush (new for fall!)
  4. Handbag: Kate Spade Small Rachelle (outlet style, they bring it out in the Ballet Slipper in late winter/early spring)

I’ve been spending most of my time this week in the kitchen:

Lots and lots of Macarons this week! Eeks. Also, a reminder that sale items at Kate Spade are an additional 25% off through next Tuesday! Outlets have a sale too, but I don’t know what exactly it is. I’m trying to be good, I might have over indulged during the splurge and save this month. OOPS!

Until next time,

Jules

An Update of Sorts

Oh boy y’all, it’s been INSANE! Like “I want to crawl into a hole at the end of each day” insane. Lots of French Macarons, and lots of trips to LA for Dancing with the Stars, plus some amazing shopping trips, add in having 4 kids, and voila! By the end of the day I am just DONE. But here’s a few of my favorite outfits from the last few weeks (and maybe a fun backstage moment from Dancing with the Stars!):

  1. Dress: Prada, under $50 at Last Call (wait, WHAT?! I know right?! Our Last Call is INSANE right now! Price tag had $2065 on it!!)
  2. Belt: Ted Baker, $10 outlet find
  3. Shoes: Kate Spade (via The Real Real)

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade (via The Real Real, it’s an older one I’ve been looking for for YEARS!)
  2. Skirt: Vintage (talk about an investment piece….this $6 skirt has gotten so much wear)
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin
  4. Handbag: Kate Spade (Small Rachelle, outlet style, and my favorite bag shape/style)

  1.  Cardigan: Banana Republic Outlet
  2. Dress: Kate Spade (currently at outlets for $89.99)
  3. Belt & Necklace: Thrifted
  4. Shoes: Kate Spade

  1. Dress: Adrianna Papell (Nordstrom rack, under $50)
  2. Shoes: Christian Louboutin (strassed by me)
  3. Necklace: Kate Spade
  4. And yes, Jodie Sweetin! She’s such a doll, I love her story of redemption and seeing how she is growing as a dancer. The judges were dumb on Monday night, her dance was AWESOME. My fan girl moments are done though, I’ll try to play it cool next week! LOL

  1. Cardigan: BR Outlet

  3. Belt: Thrifted

  1.  Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Blouse: Kate Spade
  3. Pants: Kate Spade
  4. Shoes: Christian Louboutin
  5. Handbag & Necklace: Kate Spade

Those are my favorite looks from the last couple of weeks. I still can’t get over the Prada dress find….I know it’s just a simple pink sundress, but I LOVE IT. It was really windy yesterday and it held up pretty well, I didn’t flash anyone!

On a Kate Spade note, new arrivals at the outlets:  (photos were sent to me…I went up to our local one last night but didn’t buy anything)

And flamingo keychains are back! (So don’t get duped on eBay y’all!!!)

And I did French Macarons & Salted Chocolate Chip cookies for the Houston Flagship store….to celebrate the launch of their April collection:

Did you attend Emily’s tea party? Sadly I was in Vegas for a business conference, but I was totally there in spirit! I also ordered a pile of stuff during friends and family weekend…which I shall have to debut at some point.

Until next time,

Jules

Another Week Gone

Another week has come and gone. I have been really swamped with macaron orders for Easter, at this point I’m convinced I may BE a macaron!

Monday:

  2. Dress: Kate Spade Olivia
  3. Belt: secondhand
  4. Shoes: Christian Louboutin

Church on Sunday:

And last Friday:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade Adette
  2. Belt: Kate Spade (holiday 2015)
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin, strassed by me
  4. Handbag: Kate Spade (new this month!)

On the ice cream truck! It’s one of my favorite novelty bags, it’s the perfect size and it can be used cross body! Very well made with exquisite details.

I also made lots of these:

Dino Cake (isn’t he ADORABLE?!)

And a replica of my grandmothers wedding cake for her 5-year anniversary this past Saturday (they renewed their vows as well, it was so sweet), and my mom made a lovely display:

I didn’t take a photo of my outfit Saturday, simply because we had to deliver Dino, I was running on about 12 hours sleep over 3 days, and then we had to book it down to Palm Springs. But I did take a fun photo to send to my husband:

I know, I am utterly ridiculous! I wore my hazy floral dress (if you don’t own it, go buy it! Sale is on additional sale in stores at Kate Spade!!) and some sparkly shoes. It was in the 90’s out there! But a perfect sunny Palm Springs day.

Until next time,

Jules

Until next time,

Jules

Mid Week

How is it Wednesday already?! Yikes!! I wasn’t feeling well Monday, and so I took a proper sick day. I stayed in bed and binge read a book series. It was wonderful! Yesterday was back to work…and so I pulled out some bright cheery colors!

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade (outlet 2-3 years ago)
  2. Skirt: Kate Spade (tracked this down in a secondhand store in La)

I’ve been making lots of these again this week:

Until next time,

Jules

And finally, the first holiday party ensemble of the season! Some friends of ours invited us out to Los Angeles for the Delta LAX Christmas Party….we had a ball! And of course after agonizing about my dress/shoes (my bag was easy!), here’s the end result:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade Emma, holiday 2013
  2. Shoes: Christian Louboutin, strassed by me.

My husband and I got a really nice photo of the two of us, but I’m saving it to go on the family Christmas card (which I still need to order!!). We had fun. I felt like it was a great warm up to the two parties we have later this week. I may be remiss in posting this week, but my Instagram, Katespadegirlblog, is kept fairly up to date!

Meanwhile, back to this:

Bagging & tagging 100’s of French Macarons!

Until next time,

Jules
