Fall Has Happened

Oh my! The past few days the weather has turned to, well, downright chilly!! I’m not complaining, I just suppose I wasn’t quite prepared for it!!

Anyway, some recaps of my weekend/past few days.

Today, Kate Spade is having a surprise sale! I ordered some gifts, nothing for myself. I think my order the previous weekend was enough for me! But there are some good deals on cute things! What I did order last week came Friday:

Loving my new case, and of course the mug is a must-have for my cake-baking self! The dress I had been stalking for quite some time. It has pockets!!!

Anyway. Always fun to acquire new things.

Last Friday was the schools fall festival. True to form, I simply could not resist joining in the costuming. However, I was unable to convince my husband he needed to go with me. What’s a princess to do?

Why turn him into a frog and pin the frog to the dress of course!!!

Okay, so I didn’t really do that, but I told everyone I did! It was so much fun, the little girls loved it! We also made lots of money selling my baked goods for ROTC!! (My 9th grader is in the program)

I actually whipped up about 160-ish French macarons (Larger ones!) and 250-ish cake pops. It’s official, I’m an overachiever mom. However, the leftovers went to many good causes in the past few days. (I’ve been leaving a trail of sprinkles all over Southern California!!)

Saturday was another crazy day as I delivered this masterpiece:

I love this client of mine! They always have the best cake ideas!! I did a HUGE pooh bear a couple of years ago for their son. Can’t wait for their next party!!

I failed to take outfit photos Saturday or Sunday. Sunday I spent in LA, went to church with a girlfriend, hit a street fair, and had a late lunch with another friend! (I adore Faigie, her son Benny of Team Benny is a childhood cancer survivor, and she is just an inspiring woman! Her blog touches me every time I read it!! I bedazzled a cap for her a while back) I also managed to hit up my favorite LA store, It’s a Wrap, and snagged some interesting goodies!

Like this apron from Desperate Housewives:

Isn’t it insane?! (Please excuse the mess in my closet! I’ve hardly been home the past couple of weeks) I have to take it in, but for $10, I couldn’t resist. I am tempted to make it into a skirt. It’s very well made!

Monday morning saw me back to the grind! I wore a gorgeous new dress gifted to me by Faigie (she also sells amazing clothing….she multi talented like myself, except even more so than I am!!)

Jacket: Target
Brooch: Vintage
Dress: Kay Unger
Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Stockings: Calvin Klein

Yup, it’s cold, be prepared to see me rocking nylons for the next few months!!!! (I secretly love them. Okay, perhaps it isn’t really a secret! They just make your clothing fit better)

Today, for the last cross-country meet of the season:

Cardigan: Thrifted, $1
Top: Target
Skirt: Thrifted
Belt: Thrifted
Shoes: Strassed Christian Louboutim by redo my shoe
Stockings: Calvin Klein

And by far the best part of today….one of the seniors led the entire team in prayer. It was an awesome moment:

The team ran hard and strong today, even in the 50-degree weather with 5-10mph winds!

So, there ya go. I’m slowing down a bit for the next week or so, and I have a huge list of “catch up”. It’s been a crazy month, this October. Many joys, some devastation, but I am blessed in more ways than I can ever imagine!

Until next time,

What I’m Wearing

I had a meeting with a client tonight, another event on my books. Whew, they say when you have a 90% or higher booking rate, it’s time to increase prices. But with our economy, I’d rather be that gal who keeps it simple and works with couples on a budget. I really love what I do!!

What I carry for consults:

Hey, makes it easy to find me. “I’m the blonde with the bag that says eat cake for breakfast. And I’ll have a small box of cupcakes for you”

My rather boring outfit:

The Rundown:
Blouse: Banana Republic, $9 at the outlet (I have another similar, same color)
Skirt: Kate Spade Esti skirt (the cost per wear on this is pennies at this point I’m sure!!!)
Shoes: Black Jimmy Choo Flats (I have a pair in bone coming. Snagged the bone color on eBay for $30!!!)
Handbag: Eat Cake for Breakfast Kate Spade bag

And so I go back to work this evening. This is what I’m working on:

A sugar shoe!!! So excited for this one.

Until next time,

What I’m Wearing

I might end up changing before the day is out, but for now, I am choosing to wear what I’ve worn 3 out of the last 4 Fridays!! (but always different shoes)

And my toes are still bugging me, but getting better. A couple more days I hope!!

The Rundown:
Cardigan: Target (girls’ section)
Brooch: Vintage, Salvation Army
Skirt: See by Chloe, off eBay
Shoes: Kate Spade sandals
Handbag: Kate Spade Antoinette

And as a favor to a reader from overseas, a photo with my Eat Cake for Breakfast bag on my shoulder (for those interested in scale, I’m right around 5’4)

Have a lovely Friday everyone!! I will post a giveaway update later this afternoon!! Maybe a sneak peek!

Until next time,

What I’m Wearing

Yay! Today is going to be slightly cooler than yesterday. I’m really hoping this heat wave is over and summer doesn’t come to town for at least another month!!

I’ve had this skirt for a few weeks, it came from the same eBay lot as my “Florida” skirt did. Just waiting for a good day to wear it! Sadly my toes are still swollen, so my shoe choices are very very limited!!

The Rundown:
Cardigan: Old Navy
Blouse: Design History, off eBay(I’ve seen this brand at Marshall’s and TJMaxx)
Skirt: itw by Claude Brown
Belt: thrifted
Shoes: Ross
Handbag: Orange Kate Spade Antoinette

I was going to carry my eat cake bag, but it’s just too big. Then I spotted this one in my closet! The orange matches the orange olives in my skirt:

And I’ve taken to lugging around my eat cake for breakfast Gia bag as a “makeup, snacks, pens, hand lotion, sanitizer, etc” bag. It makes changing handbags sooooo easy! I just grab my wallet, and the Gia bag, and voila! Quick change!! I always carry snacks in my bag, just in case. (I know, I am such a mom!)

Off for another crazy day! I have client meetings this afternoon and errands. I also am on the hunt for a case for my kindle fire. I need something cute. The Kate Spade one I ordered was returned, it didn’t work for my type of kindle (I didn’t realize it was model specific!!)

Don’t forget about my giveaway! It ends next Monday.

Until next time,

What I’m Wearing

It’s been a good weekend. Off to grab some breakfast and go to the morning church service. John Maxwell does the message, he really is a unique man in what he does! And he is SO approachable!! I spoke with him last year, and get this, he remembered. How insane is that?? I really have enjoyed his teachings and I started reading his new book (I’m an avid reader, thank goodness for amazon, kindle and free books!!), and I am excited to apply it in my life.

Anyway, today I’m toning it down, more casual (I changed after dinner last night, changed my blouse and took a cardigan instead of my jacket. I ❤ that jacket, but frankly cashmere is much much warmer!!) and I adore this skirt!!

The Rundown:
Cardigan: Ross
Blouse: eBay (I have a grey one too, $9 for both!)
Skirt: eBay (same seller as my blouse and I also got my Chloe skirt from her)
Shoes: Miu Miu (these are really really comfortable heels! Once I broke them in, wow. I really do believe expensive or at least leather, shoes make a difference)

I’ll probably take my yellow bag from yesterday, and I have my big tote for all the “stuff”. (concession stand food is terrible!)

Here’s a closeup of the detail on my cardigan & blouse.

I’ll probably wear my pearl & diamond earrings. The blouse is busy enough I don’t want to be fussy. 🙂

It’s going to be a beautiful day!

Until next time,

I ❤ getting a package from Kate Spade! They always wrap so beautifully!

Today this came

Ohhhh, so pretty!

What’s inside?

A sticker! Pretty tissue paper! (although, I much prefer the gold striped tissue paper they had in 2011, just saying)

And the, voila!

It’s a rather long story as to how this came into my possession, but it doesn’t matter! Now I suppose I will have to break down and buy the tshirt. Slightly a waste, as a. It’s white (yikes!) and b. it’s a tshirt! (something I rarely wear)

I also had another wrapped box in my shipment, but as its a birthday present for a friend, I shall keep it under wraps. I’m not sure if she reads this!

On another note, stopped into the outlet in Cabazon today. I didn’t buy anything, but they had some great deals! I’m heading to Vegas this weekend, so a stop in Primm on the way up is a must.

Until next time,

What I’m Wearing

It’s windy out today, but I have a client meeting, and I’m wearing a skirt anyway!!!

The Rundown:
Blouse: Kate Spade Whitney Blouse, $40 @ the outlet
Cardigan: Elle from Kohls, $14 on sale
Skirt: Thrifted, $1
Belt: Thrifted, $1
Shoes: Jimmy Choo (worn on 3/30/12)
Bag: Kate Spade (carried on 3/30/12)

And I also have my Eat Cake Bag today

Good to carry all my files & books!

Off to brave the windy weather!

Until next time,
