Fashion, Food, Desserts, being a 30-something mom is exciting!

Oh hello Friday, so nice to see you! I’m super excited for the weekend ahead and the holiday next week!

Yesterday I wore this:

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Skirt: French Connection
  3. Shoes: SJP

And today:

  1. Cardigan: Banana Republic Outlet
  2. Dress: Kate Spade
  3. Belt & Necklace: Kate Spade
  4. Shoes: Jimmy Choo

I also started a new project:

Super excited for this pair! I have a pink strassed flats, but not heels. I’m using several shades of pink stones, I really am liking the effect. Hope you have a great weekend ahead, you know what’s going to be occupying my weekend!

Until next time,

Monday Blues

Monday oh Monday. After having the last week (nearly) “off”, today was a little rough. I remember why I don’t like to be gone from home for long periods of time, between sleeping in strange beds, to breaking our normal routine, but I am thankful we went and my husband and I had some kid-free time away from our home! (Thanks to my BRAVE mom and dad who hosted the kids at “camp” for the whole time!!!)

I admit to not taking many photos of outfits while we were gone, mainly due to the lighting in the hotel in Phoenix, and our weekend here in Southern California was mostly phone-free. (I admit to checking Facebook and Instagram, but I didn’t post anything. Which is hard for me!!) But I will share some of my brilliant shopping finds while I was gone!

These gorgeous clutches, the pink is Ted Baker & the blue Kate Spade:
The Kate Spade”world map” scarves in BOTH colors!

One of the many SJP shoes I bought…I love these as I did now own a nude pair of shoes before.

This GORGEOUS Halston Heritage dress. The tailoring on it is sublime:

Some outfits:

Tueaday, my first shopping “adventure” (hit outlets + secret shopping spot)

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Dress: Kate Spade (via The Real Real)
  3. Belt: Kate Spade
  4. Shoes: Sophia Webster Remmie

I changed for dinner that night into this:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Belt: Ted Baker
  3. Shoes: Jimmy Choo
  4. Necklace: Kate Spade
  5. Clutch: Ted Baker

The dress, clutch & shoes were all purchased while in Arizona. All 3 pieces were under $100 TOTAL. I know. I was dying. See my ridiculous facial expression? And my poor discarded Sophia Webster Remmie heels in the bottom right corner? I got the best compliment from a server at the restaurant, really set the tone for the whole trip!

Wednesday, another trip to the secret shopping spot (this time not so overwhelmed and armed with a list for friends! I also hit the big mall in Scottsdale to visit Kate Spade. I didn’t buy anything at the mall, just redeemed all my birthday month freebies!)

  1. Blouse: Kohls (old, I need to find a replacement!)
  2. Skirt: Anthropologie
  3. Belt: Secondhand
  4. Shoes: Kate Spade

I also changed again for dinner, because I’m a girl, and when you find gorgeous clothes you want to wear them ASAP!

  1. Dress: Halston Heritage
  2. Clutch: Kate Spade
  3. Shoes: SJP

This was before I had finished my hair, I was still deciding on shoes and clutch. (See discarded shoe pile!) I’ve had these SJP heels for quite a while, however I wish I had waited as they were cheaper in Az. Alas, not to be! But I scored enough other gorgeous shoes for so cheap it evens out I suppose! This Halson dress was under $40, and the clutch was under $50. The dress is that gorgeous heavy silk faille fabric Kate Spade used to use. It’s very well made and I love that the hem is slightly weighted down, perfect for the windy desert I live in!!!

Thursday I slipped my new red dress on again (why oh why did I pack all those clothes again?!), and dragged my husband shopping. (I know, I have ISSUES. We had a ball though. We laughed and snorted and didn’t get lost once!)

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Belt: secondhand
  3. Shoes: SJP (I’m becoming a huge fan of her shoes!!!)

And Friday for the trek back to California and our anniversary trip (very belated!! We had intended to stay over but my husband was on call all weekend, so we had to be fairly close to home)

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Skirt: Topshop
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin, strassed by me

And finally today:

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Dress: Kate Spade
  3. Belt: Anthropologie
  4. Shoes: Kate Spade

I know, outfit repeater!!! Sometimes I fall in love with an article of clothing that I want to wear it ALL THE TIME! I’m sure this is pretty standard!! The dress I wore today is a nice fabric, cut so it won’t fly in the wind, and best of all has pockets! I have a short week before we take off yet again (however this is a last minute thing, as family situations usually are), and I needed comfort and function today as I caught up from a week gone and a short week home. I am thankful the kids have a two week break, as it allows us to have some flexibility in scheduling! So while I’m “back”, it’s still going to be a short week!

If you have questions about any of my shopping finds, please shoot me an email. I know some of the places are closely guarded secret shopping spots, and I completely understand why! And now someone PLEASE take away my Visa card, it needs a break! (And I need to unload some pieces in my closet before anymore additions!!) I even managed to not buy a thing during the sale on sale this weekend! Whew.

Until next time,

A Recap of Sorts

Cam we discuss the whirlwind I’ve been on since I last posted?! Seriously, INSANE! But so much fun.

First some outfit recaps, I’ll start with Saturday:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade (Bloomingdales, no longer online but as of Monday Fashion Island still had it in a few sizes. It’s on markdown right around $300) It’s a raspberry pink version of this dress )
  2. Necklace: Kate Spade (Nordstrom Rack…it’s from 2014)
  3. Shoes: Kate Spade, a Holiday 2013 exclusive for Saks Fifth Ave (I also have them in silver…both pairs were under $100 at Off Fifth)
  4. Handbag: Kate Spade (old, off eBay)

Sunday we volunteered at the Tinkerbell Half Marathon at Disneyland. I had to wear pants (sorry Dress a Day in May gals!!!), so I wore this (and then put my snazzy yellow free t-shirt over it!)

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade (on sale right now at the outlets for under $70)
  2. Blouse: Banana Republic Outlet (late 2013/early 2014)
  3. Pants: Kate Spade (Ebay find, under $20)
  4. Shoes: Christian Louboutin, strassed by me

I did put on a skirt for the evening…

  1.  Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Skirt: Kate Spade (old, I found this on The Real Real. Use my link for a $25 credit towards your first purchase! )
  3. Shoes: Jimmy Choo, strassed by me

Monday morning was a VERY early day…I had to be somewhere by 5:30am. But I still rocked something somewhat cute:

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade Outlet (available now, same pricing as the yellow one above. They also have it in hot pink, black, and ivory)
  2. Dress: Kate Spade Kendrick Dress (outlet only style for 2015, was also released in the Asian market in 2014)
  3. Belt: Kate Spade, from Nordstrom (pops up from time to time if you stalk the sale section!)
  4. Shoes: Christian Louboutin, strassed in Green Tourmaline

And finally today called for two outfits, as when I got him this afternoon it was SO windy!!! My first outfit:

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Dress: Kate Spade (at the outlets now! Only thing is this fabric catches lint!!! And there are no pockets)
  3. Belt: Kate Spade (from Nordstrom Rack, under $50)
  4. Shoes: Christian Louboutin

And my wind-proof afternoon attire:

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Skirt: Vintage
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin

A gorgeous paid of Sophia Webster heels I tried on today….

And with the ankle straps

(Yes I have Verizon and I totally searched “Sophia Webster rabbit fur shoe) I am feeling like I did a couple weeks ago with the metallic pink ones I ended up having shipped to me!! I need to stay out of shoe departments. They were a half size too small, oh how they pinched my poor toes. But they are just adorable!!!!

So there you go. A crazy sparkly recap. I’m very happy to be home and listening to my kiddos play their assorted musical instruments. Sweetest sound ever.

Until next time,

One Dress, Three Looks

Now I do not profess to be a fashion guru, but I must admit I had fun with my most recent Kate Spade dress, all those stripes make for some fun looks!

Cardigan: thrift
Dress: Kate Spade
Belt: thrift
Shoes: Kate Spade

And previous looks with this dress:

And all 3 side by side:

And for fun, some mini cupcakes I made last night:

Have a great day!

Until next time,

Weekend Recap

Yesterday, I had the most amazing day! I drive for the high school kids, and while they do their event, I go explore the area closeby. Yesterday I dropped kids off in Cypress (right by Disneyland! Soooo missed my annual pass!!), and then another mom drove as well and she tagged along. As she had never been to downtown LA, well, I felt obliged to show her some fun spots!!!

We started at the fashion district, which was insane!!! I really didn’t buy too much, just a couple of baubles for something next month and a few small items for my daughter. But I have to say, if you are a fan of leggings? That is the place to go! Wowzers!!! Lots of great dresses, blouses, 3-4 items for $10. Nothing really up my alley, but I know where I will be taking my daughter shopping when she’s a teenager! It was discount Forever 21 haven!

My outfit:

Cardigan: Kate Spade
Skirt: Kate Spade
Shoes: Multi-Strass Manolo Blahnik flats I did

After the fashion district and a quick stop at my favorite crystal shop, we popped over to Exposition Park and had lunch at Freebirds (Chipotle on steroids!), and then a pit stop at Bottega Louie:

Before chauffeur duties came back up, I did stop at the Kate Spade outlet at the Citadel in LA. It must be one of the larger outlets I’ve been too! Sadly I felt that it was so-so. Most of the clothing was made for the outlet (and the quality was frankly, quite yuck!), and the few non-outlet items they had were more expensive (even on sale!!), than they were on the website (or had been during various sales). I did not buy a single thing! I wasn’t even tempted. Well, I was, but the two things I really wanted were not even close to being in my size!

And today I wore this to church, bringing Palm Sunday a couple months early:

And came home, finally opening my cookie boxes from Bottega Louie:

Sooooo yummy! I am highly inspired to bake this week, I think I may play around with some new macaron flavours.

My parting shot for today? I found my shadow! And my husbands!!

Until next time,

Green with Envy

Okay, perhaps I went a wee bit overboard with the green today, however I enjoyed it! My favorite compliment of the day was “your shoes remind me of ice cream and Easter”. Strange? Yes! But it was also strangely flattering in that it put a smile on my face and a lightness in my step! The weather was also gorgeous today, AND bible study started back up, all wonderful things to make Thursday a great day!

My outfit today:

Cardigan: Banana Republic (off eBay, under $15)
Dress: Kate Spade
Shoes: Manolo Blahnik Strassed by me
Necklace: Kate Spade (thanks mom!!!)

I’ve also been making progress on my heels, as the event I want to wear them is next week, not two weeks away as I previously thought! Whoopsie.

I got further after that last photo, but with the wet glue it isn’t very pretty. I figure I’ll have them done by Saturday if I keep plugging along. I also can’t wait to share the gorgeous dress I Thrifted to wear with them!!!

Until next time,

Mid-week! *jumps up and down and twirls* I’m happy to greet this sunny morning with a smile, as I know it’s the downhill mark in the week, leading into a 3-day weekend for my kids! (Not me, must work this weekend, hope to share some fun items from my weekend next Monday!)

Today I’m wearing this:

Cardigan: Banana Republic (two years ago)
Dress: Lela Rose for Target/Neiman Marcus
Belt: Thrifted
Shoes: Christian Louboutin Simples
Handbag (on bed in background): Kate Spade

Yes, I’m catching up on Downton Abbey on my iPad in the background while I get ready this morning! I have to say, I do enjoy having a portable “tv”. Not the use intended when it was purchased, but still.

I’ve made some progress on my shoes:

Not nearly as much progress as I would like, however, it is tax season, so I am swamped at the office, in addition to all the other things going on. My biggest “resolution” for 2014 is to be better about managing my time, so I am being more selective about projects I’ve taken on. We shall see how THAT goes!

Off and running, hope you have a lovely Wednesday!

Until next time,
