Weekend in Review

Well, I have survived. Barely. Day 4 has so far been the worst…..hoping tomorrow is better. My son started to feel it yesterday, it’s funny how I felt it INSTANTLY after the crash, and it took the kid about two days! I think he finally came off his adrenaline high of the whole “got rear ended, but still passed my driving test!” Sigh. Just happy that we have excellent Drs and my car isn’t that horrible (although one never knows once that bumper comes off!)

I did get dressed and leave the house yesterday…and I did out shoes on, but they were off by the time I took this photo:

  1. T-Shirt: Kohls
  2. Skirt: Kate Spade (way old….maybe 6 years?)

I picked up the cutest sandals at the Ralph Lauren outlet:

Now I could have gotten just one pair, right? But they had them in black/silver, navy/gold and tan/gold in my size. With tax, $11. So yes, I bought 3 pairs. I figure I’m going to spend the majority of the summer in flats due to my back, and I don’t actually own many sandals….so there you go. My husband just laughed and rolled his eyes.

But they are comfortable…I wore the tan ones today:

  1.  Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Belt: Kate Spade (Havana collection, 2014)
  3. Shoes: Ralph by Ralph Laureb in Tan

I had a handbag for church, but my husband carried it around all day.  I’m pretty stiff and sore and everything just HURTS today. Like pulling and tugging. Ugh. Seatbelts people, seatbelts!!(but I was about to get OUT of the car AND we were in park….)

Who knows what tomorrow will bring. Lots of hot and windy weather, and I see my Jillian summer weight cotton dresses making some serious appearances this week! Oh and lots of French Macarons. Oh boy!

Until next time,

Jules

Friday

Its Friday! I’m fairly miserable, but have great care, so I know I will survive. I’m hoping today is the worst!! Whiplash is terrible.

What I wore yesterday:

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Dress: Kate Spade Gayle (outlet only style)
  3. Belt: Old Navy (sale section, under $1!)
  4. Shoes: Jimmy Choo, strassed by me

And today:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Shoes: Christian Louboutin, strassed in Green Tourmaline
  3. Handbag: Kate Spade (outlet style…they have this size in Ballet Slipper pink right now!!)

Lots of rest, lots of ice, and I’m going to spend a lot of time at my chiropractor for a while!!

Until next time,

Jules

Wednesday Insanity

Seriously, I have NO OTHER WORDS for today.  I’ll start with outfits from the past few days….

Monday:

  1. Cardigan: Barney’s
  2. Dress: Kate Spade
  3. Shoes: Jimmy Choo, strassed in Light Siam stones.

Tuesday….where I wore the same dress but swapped out some details from day to evening. Everything is Kate Spade.

Evening:

  1. Cardigans: Both Kate Spade
  2. Dress: Kate Spade Sonja in Navy Blue
  3. Belts: Both Kate Spade, the first came with the dress, the burgundy one is from Nordstrom.
  4. Shoes: Kate Spade (both pairs), in fact both are suede!!!
  5. Handbag: Kate Spade Rachelle (the smaller version is back at the outlets in this color!!!)
  6. Necklace: Kate Spade (current at the outlets)

Today encompassed 3 ensembles. I started in this to run some errands:

  1. Blouse: Thrifted, no brand.
  2. Skirt: Sandee Royalty
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin

Then I changed to take my oldest for his driving test!!! (Hang on…this is where my day gets REALLY REALLY INSANE)

  1.  Dress: Kate Spade Adette (some outlets may still have this dress on their clearance rack!!!!!)
  2. Belt: Kate Spade (from Nordstrom)
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin (I LOVE these heels!!! That silver bow is sublime)

Then I changed to this….

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade Girls, size Large (on sale right now!!!!)
  2. Dress: Kate Spade Adette
  3. Belt: Kate Spade
  4. Shoes: Jimmy Choo, strassed in Light Siam.

Now you ask…why the outfit change, and WHAT HAPPENED at the driving test.

Well. We pull up and the kid puts the car in park and I am going to get out of the car, as it’s his turn to meet his examiner. But all of a sudden there’s a horrific BAM BOOM BAM and the car lurches forward about 10 feet (it was in PARK mind you!!!. We both freaked thinking it was a bomb or something. But no.

The driver behind us SLAMMED INTO MY CAR. In fact they slammed into my bumper SO HARD, there is an imprint of their license plate embedded in my bumper!! And about 3 punctured holes IN the bumper. People are running and screaming at the kid to put the car in park (I don’t blame them…the car lurched that much!!), and was just plain dizzy and seeing stars. I was unbelted and about to exit the car, so I went flying.

However, as they suggested a reschedule of the test, as I was aching with whiplash, I look over and see my son calm as a cucumber. Ready to take his test. WHICH HE PASSED!!! I’m so proud of him…he got in his first accident AND passed his behind the wheel driving test all within a 45-minute period.

Of course I have who knows what wrong with my back now. I just know I am in considerable pain, dizzy, and have a wicked cool headache. But hey, THE KID PASSED HIS TEST. And he has a wicked cool story to tell.

The bright side? My flamingo survived:

I have an incredible team of Drs already lined up to fix me, and the car will get a shiny new bumper. He also has a really memorable story for the day he got his license. I’m hoping it encourages him to be a very thoughtful driver. It also could have been worse….it could have been my kid who hit someone in line to take their driving test!! I’m thankful for our car insurance company who has already handled so much. Also grateful he took his test in my big SUV, as the other cars would have been seriously injured!! My biggest concern is for my back/neck, I know tomorrow is not going to be fun! Back to flats for a while for me!

Until next time,

Jules

Sunday Musings

Oh my, how I am dragging today!!!! This past week has finally caught up with me! We still went to church this morning, and so I got dressed (even though I’m back in PJ’s hanging on the couch watching TV!)

My living room has been turned into a couch fort:

Hope your weekend is grand. We are enjoying some peaceful quiet after all the excitement of the past couple of weeks. My husband is thankful to have tomorrow off, as am I.

Until next time,

Jules

A Recap of Sorts

Cam we discuss the whirlwind I’ve been on since I last posted?! Seriously, INSANE! But so much fun.

First some outfit recaps, I’ll start with Saturday:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade (Bloomingdales, no longer online but as of Monday Fashion Island still had it in a few sizes. It’s on markdown right around $300) It’s a raspberry pink version of this dress )
  2. Necklace: Kate Spade (Nordstrom Rack…it’s from 2014)
  3. Shoes: Kate Spade, a Holiday 2013 exclusive for Saks Fifth Ave (I also have them in silver…both pairs were under $100 at Off Fifth)
  4. Handbag: Kate Spade (old, off eBay)

Sunday we volunteered at the Tinkerbell Half Marathon at Disneyland. I had to wear pants (sorry Dress a Day in May gals!!!), so I wore this (and then put my snazzy yellow free t-shirt over it!)

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade (on sale right now at the outlets for under $70)
  2. Blouse: Banana Republic Outlet (late 2013/early 2014)
  3. Pants: Kate Spade (Ebay find, under $20)
  4. Shoes: Christian Louboutin, strassed by me

I did put on a skirt for the evening…

  1.  Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Skirt: Kate Spade (old, I found this on The Real Real. Use my link for a $25 credit towards your first purchase! )
  3. Shoes: Jimmy Choo, strassed by me

Monday morning was a VERY early day…I had to be somewhere by 5:30am. But I still rocked something somewhat cute:

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade Outlet (available now, same pricing as the yellow one above. They also have it in hot pink, black, and ivory)
  2. Dress: Kate Spade Kendrick Dress (outlet only style for 2015, was also released in the Asian market in 2014)
  3. Belt: Kate Spade, from Nordstrom (pops up from time to time if you stalk the sale section!)
  4. Shoes: Christian Louboutin, strassed in Green Tourmaline

And finally today called for two outfits, as when I got him this afternoon it was SO windy!!! My first outfit:

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Dress: Kate Spade (at the outlets now! Only thing is this fabric catches lint!!! And there are no pockets)
  3. Belt: Kate Spade (from Nordstrom Rack, under $50)
  4. Shoes: Christian Louboutin

And my wind-proof afternoon attire:

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Skirt: Vintage
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin

A gorgeous paid of Sophia Webster heels I tried on today….

And with the ankle straps

(Yes I have Verizon and I totally searched “Sophia Webster rabbit fur shoe) I am feeling like I did a couple weeks ago with the metallic pink ones I ended up having shipped to me!! I need to stay out of shoe departments. They were a half size too small, oh how they pinched my poor toes. But they are just adorable!!!!

So there you go. A crazy sparkly recap. I’m very happy to be home and listening to my kiddos play their assorted musical instruments. Sweetest sound ever.

Until next time,

Jules

Sunday

Whew, today has been long!! Lots of baking, tomorrow is my stepsons’ birthday (yes, they share a birthday! Among other things), and another cake that was ordered. It’s all done, and the ice cream cakes are in the freezer!

My piping skills aren’t the greatest….but it will do!

I wore my Madison Avenue dress to church this morning….

  1. Dress: Kate Spade Madison Avenue Ines Dress
  2. Necklace: Kate Spade (I could wear this one every day!!)
  3. Earrings: Nadri, picked up for under $10 at Nordstrom Rack last week.
  4. Shoes: Kate Spade (I bought these when my husband bought me this dress. They MAKE the dress!!)

I ended up changing when we got home….I was hot, and I’ll be honest, my feet weren’t terribly happy!! The shoes above aren’t all-day heels. So I put this on:

  1.  Dress: David’s Bridal, picked up at goodwill.
  2. Brooch: vintage, off eBay
  3. Shoes: Manolo Blahnik, strassed in Crystal AB.

Perhaps I’ll take the “dress a day in May” to the extreme and shoot for two dresses a day! (Kidding…although should I be ashamed to admit I could do that AND be able to not repeat a single dress? Eeks!!!) I am hoping our beautiful weather holds, although it could be a little cooler…93 degrees in early May is a little too hot.

Until next time,

Jules
