Saturday Shenanigans

I had not intended to blog tonight, but alas, here it is, a little before midnight and while I am tired, it’s not quite time to sleep yet. This 3 and 4 hour nap thing in the afternoon is throwing my sleep schedule off! Luckily only 4 more days of the school year, and my 5:30am wake up call goes away for 7 weeks!!

This morning we did an outlet run…I wore this:

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade (currently on sale at the outlets….more on that below)
  2. Dress: Kate Spade (old…2010/2011-ish!)
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin Love flats, strassed in Montana and clear crystal by me.

And I went BACK out this evening to return some movies and ended up wearing something different:

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade Tula (2014 outlet style)
  2. Dress: Kate Spade Olivia (late 2013)
  3. Belt: Kate Spade
  4. Shoes: Christian Louboutin

So, some outlets are running 40/20 on their stock. But SOME are running 50% off and then “buy more, save more”! (I don’t remember all the levels…just that is you spent $350 or more it was an additional 25% off!!) Which is kind of an amazing promotion!! I didn’t buy anything today, but I did try these on:

I LOVE the blue one. It’s such a gorgeous color and it’s a fun little dress with a very low back. However it runs HUGE!!!! This one slipped right down without me even unzipping it. So, it stayed there. I love the shape and the color. The second one is a remake of last year, from the Havana collection. I’m on the fence about it….perhaps if it hits major sale and it’s in my size somewhere, I’ll pick it up because my husband liked it. We shall see.

I did find something else, however there is no reveal yet. Still working out the details, but I am SO EXCITED about it.

And lastly scored a second large mixer…my costco marked them down to $220. (Red only):

I had wanted a second silver one…but for that price? Red will do just dandy!!! It’s a nice upgrade from my old ones I bought 5 years ago. More power, bigger bowl, and it’s so much quieter!!! Already gave it a first whirl, starting on cake pops for a wedding next weekend. It’s going to be an insane week!

Excited for tomorrow, we told the kids and they had so much fun picking out dress clothes. I don’t know why we never considered celebrating with all 6 of us before! I feel a little mommy guilt on THAT one. Now to figure out what I’m going to wear. This whole flats-only things is really cramping my church and fancy meal style! But I have to stick to it, I slipped on heels the other night and walked maybe 100 feet total, and it was a BAD idea. Sigh. Talk about a first world problem!

Until next time,

What I’m Wearing & Thursday Recap

Wow, a day I am not wearing Kate Spade! (confession time! My glasses are Kate Spade, so I suppose I do have something on. Lol!!!!)

Today is the Kindergarten field trip. We are going to go see Mary Poppins at the local college this morning. Then I’m coming home to work, but my little one will go have fun at a working ranch here.

I considered dressing more for the play, you know, long skirt, cute jacket, a hat, but as its been 90+ degrees by 11am lately? Yeah, no!

The Rundown:
Cardigan: Tracy Reese (yes, I wore this yesterday too)
Dress: Nanette Lepore, off eBay
Shoes: Strassed Jimmy Choo flats (also worn yesterday!!)
Handbag: Coach

My bag & shoes

I now consider these my lucky shoes. Yesterday we had all these challenges. I won the crab walk with these (apparently it was very exorcist-like. I have extreme flexibility, so my can do wierd contortions. I am so used to it, but it can freak people out a bit!). And then we had some wierd “wear one flipper, a life jacket, and goggles, then kick beach ball across room”. I not only scrambled with that ball, I kicked my beautiful shoe in a huge arc across the room. Lol!!!!!

I hope someone has video. It was fun and crazy. Have you ever participated in team building challenges?? (and yes, my team totally killed it yesterday!! We were the smallest number, but mighty! We are hospitality. Ohhhh yeah!)

Here’s the flower arrangements I threw together for our morning

Our theme this year was “think outside the box”, so I was asked to do gifts for everyone. Boxes of cake balls!!

And then I came home and did this

Such a fun day! Today in doing a cake for tomorrow that will have a ninja couple cake topper and peacock feathers. I ❤ my job!

Happy Friday!!

Until next time,

Tomorrow is my stepsons’ birthday (yes, they share a birthday!!), so I am sitting here wrapping the last few presents and wrapping and packing up the giveaway prizes!! (although, Miss Zoe, please contact me!! I have one left, it’s yellow, size 39, and it has your name on it!!)

Fun fun. And I have all this gorgeous ribbon from costco… its bow time!

First package for the giveaway

Second package. This is the “mystery prize”

And a lovely pair of movie tickets to my dear friend Courtney (the one who’s birthday present I posted as a teaser!). In fact, she should be getting said present soon!

And the birthday presents (although, wrapping these aren’t nearly as fun. I don’t know that the boys will appreciate all the bows!)

Back to wrapping. Ladies, your prizes will hopefully go out tomorrow. It’s dependent on my day. I’m making separate birthday cakes this year, but luckily we aren’t doing cake until Saturday, so I have some time.

The cake requests? The eldest wants a black sphere. The younger? NO idea. So I’m making him a purple pants cake. I think he will love it. And for me, it’s something different to play around with. I have some “clothing” cakes coming up soon, so this will be good practice!

The past two years it’s been Pokemon. I’m happy for the change!

Until next time,
