Anchors Away!

I am in a rut lately. I could live in about 4 pieces of clothing lately. My striped (red, white, navy & light blue) Kate Spade dress, my black Kate Spade Emma dress, and the skirt I’m wearing today, my anchor skirt.

But in the interest of general humanity and saving the world, I changed my blouse and cardigan out today:

Cardigan: Kate Spade
Blouse: Anthropologie
Skirt: Corilynn
Shoes: Manolo Blahnik, painted and strassed by me.
Necklace: Target
Belt: It’s a Wrap

In other news, I made this amazing cake last week:

And this week it’s cookies, cake balls, and sweets galore. So much baking, so little time! Happy Monday y’all!!

Until next time,

Sailing Away

Today we popped down to Palm Springs to celebrate one of my grandmothers 80th birthday! I made cookies:

And I wore this:

Cardigan: Kate Spade
Blouse: Deletta
Skirt: Corilynn
Belt: Thrifted
Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Necklace: Kate Spade
Handbag: Kate Spade

And then we hit the two Kate Spade shops (regular and outlet) down in that area. Score!! I’m excited to share soon some of my exciting finds!! I will say, if you live near an outlet? GO this weekend!!!! Incredible sales going on!

Until next time,

Anchors Away!

Oh if only I was casting off on a grand sea voyage this morning! Alas, real life calls.

That doesn’t mean a girl can’t dream though! (Of course I dislike cruising, but that’s a story for another day)

Cardigan: Kate Spade
Skirt: Corilynn
Shoes: Christian Louboutin Montana Strass
Handbag: Kate Spade (not pictured)
Necklace: Sapphire & Diamond pendant (have matching earrings) that used to be a ring. Picked the whole set up at a pawn shop for under $200. Real Ceylon sapphire to boot! (I think this is my Best Deal Ever)

Thank you to all who entered my giveaway! This afternoon I shall have to sit down and have a drawing! I may or may not have a consolation prize planned.

Until next time,

Hooray for Friday!!

I must admit, I’m not normally the “TGIF” type person, but this week? Totally!

Anyway, I wore this today:

Cardigan: Target (little girls’ section. I bought my daughter a matching one! This is a 10/12, their clothing seems to run quite large!)
Skirt: Anthropologie, but I bought secondhand
Shoes: Strassed Manolos I did earlier this year

And then I came home to a package! Last week a company, Corilynn was having a sale. I couldn’t resist. This skirt CALLED my name! The length, the fact that the size I ordered is my waist measurements exactly. It was magic. And then it arrived:

The anchors just make my day!! I’m super excited to style this skirt, soooo many possibilities!

Here’s a close up of the fabric, it has a really neat underlying print that wasn’t noticeable on the website:

So very very pleased! I especially live the length, as I’m sure y’all realize, I tend to gravitate towards a skirt/dress that covers my knees. This is a personal preference for me, I just feel since I have a son in high school (and a rapidly growing up daughter!), I should set a good example! It makes me sad to see these young girls wearing all these skimpy clothes, when a more classic dress would be so much more flattering! Plus I mean, really, some things should be kept, ahem, private. There is just too much skin and provocative temptations in our society!!

Okay, off my soapbox. I have cupcakes to make tonight and I should probably get cracking. First order of 2014! Luckily it’s a small one, as January/February is so crazy at my job (tax season), adding big events/orders isn’t smart. Why stress myself out?

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Until next time,
