Wednesday AGAIN?!

Oh boy, it’s been a CRAZY CRAZY WEEK! Can we first have a fan girl moment? We are attending the Dancing with the Stars tapings to support Kim Fields (Tootie!!), and I HAD to when I had the chance…and Andrea was the nicest most gracious lady!

I totally stopped her and asked for a photo. I am not one to go “fan girl”, but y’all, I HAD too. She was always one of my favorite tv personalities growing up.

My outfit for the experience:(already planning next Monday’s attire!)

  1. Dress: Kate Spade Madison Avenue
  2. Shoes: Christian Louboutin (strassed by me)
  3. Clutch: Kate Spade (outlet)

My Easter Sunday ensemble:

And finally today:

  2. Dress: Kate Spade Wynne

My mom and I got to see the new Kate Spade store at South Coast Plaza this last weekend. It’s HUGE! Very pretty, although we were disappointed the “fun grand opening events” didn’t seem to be happening. I didn’t buy anything, but I did try some fun dresses on:

And photos from the store:

Hope your weekend was great and your week is better! We are still on spring break, and my schedule is off. It’s nice for the break, but not for the schedule upset. Oh well.

Until next time,

Jules

Week in Review

Woah, I didn’t realize it’s been a week! Corporate taxes were due this week and so I have been heads down in that, plus prepping for all the French Macaron orders I have next week! Anyway, some recent outfits….

  1. Cardigan: Target
  2. Dress: Kate Spade
  3. Belt: Kate Spade
  4. Shoes: Kate Spade

  1. Dress: Kate Spade (I forgot I had this one! It doesn’t have pockets, so it’s not a favorite of mine)
  2. Belt: Anthropologie
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin Nude Simples

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Dress: Kate Spade Jillian (also old, another dress I’ve had for ages but haven’t worn yet)
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin (strassed by me)
  4. Handbag: Kate Spade

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Dress: Kate Spade (another oldie!)
  3. Belt: Thrifted
  4. Shoes: Sam Edelman
  5. Necklace: Target
  6. Handbag: Kate Spade

  1.  Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Dress: Kate Spade
  3. Belt: Thrifted
  4. Shoes: Christian Louboutin Simples

It’s been a brutal week, I must say! My kiddos are all stressed with finals, mid-terms and all their projects due in the next couple of days, before two weeks of spring break! I know I’m excited for them! If only I had a spring break. Sigh. Oh well, must be a proper grownup!

Until next time,

Jules

Stripes

I must admit, I wanted to do nothing more than hide in my bedroom all day today. However, I hauled myself up and got dressed and took the kids to the mall (EEKS!). I’m sure I looked quite out of place inside Hot Topic…which apparantly is THE store for the 9-16 set. I do not understand…but I sucked it up…..I never went through the “goth” stage, I don’t think I had stepped foot in that store until my oldest teenager became obsessed a few years back! It makes me feel OLD.

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade (outlet)
  2. Dress: Kate Spade Celina
  3. Belt: Kate Spade
  4. Shoes: Sam Edleman
  5. Handbag: Kate Spade

And no, I didn’t make my bed today….I had grand plans for a nap. Didn’t happen!  I did however find some lovely paperbacks at the book store (yes, I love REAL books still…there is NOTHING like the smell of a book. It’s magical)

I fully admit I chose based on the covers. And the middle one came with an attached ribbon bookmark (and is fantasy at that). I’ll read just about anything (except Twilight and 50 Shades anything), I adore books. As a kid I would read in the car by the headlights of the cars behind us! Why I didn’t have a mini book lamp I don’t know. Many 1am bedtimes are because of a book I HAD to finish. Are you a reader? I estimate I read probably 250 books last year. I re-read them as well. I will notate…I read incredibly fast. Any of the 3 books pictures is about 2-3 hours tops for me to finish.

Also, today is President’s Day! We were all off because of it. Happy day to those who have made our country great. So much sacrifice, and yet WE get the day off for them! Kind of ironic if you think about it.

Until next time,

Jules

Indecisive

Let me tell you…today was ONE OF THOSE DAYS y’all! Holy cow.

I started in this:

  1. Cardigan & Skirt: Kate Spade
  2. Shoes: Christian Louboutin (strassed by me)

Cute right? Bright, cheery, the promise of spring. But NO. I felt WRETCHED. (I know, utterly ridiculous) And so I started with my skirt, then cardigan, and now there is a pile of 6 cardigans and 7 skirts in my closet. (And I still haven’t hung them up. There’s tomorrow, right?) And left the house in this: (why?! I don’t know. My first outfit was WAY better, I know this!)

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Skirt: Unknown, picked up under $5 at a thrift store 3 years ago
  3. Shoes: Kate Spade

Why am I sharing this? Because….those who read my blog should know I don’t get dressed to take photos for my blog, I get dressed for my daily life & activities. And I am indecisive. And there are days I HATE everything about what I’m wearing and how I look. And that is OKAY y’all. Totally okay.

So there, some words of wisdom. Get dressed, even if you feel icky. Our weather is so wonky, it really affects my arthritis, and I’m still not healed from the whiplash I got last year. But I hauled myself out because it just needed to happen. And you can too! Okay, soapbox over. I’m utterly gutted for the day and have just enough left in me to crawl into bed!!!

Until next time,

Jules

Weekend Recap

Another weekend come and gone! I’ve been pretty much feet to the pavement since last Wednesday, between a road trip (15 hours in the car on Friday!), strass commissions that have a DEADLINE, and volunteering at the Star Wars Half Marathon yesterday at Disneyland! Eeks! But here’s some outfit recaps!

Thursday:

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Skirt: Kate Spade
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin

Friday…my husband and I had to attend to a family matter, which required formal business attire. I have someone amazing in my life who loaned me a KILLER bag for the event:

  1.  Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Skirt: Kate Spade (from the early collection)
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin
  4. Handbag: Hermes Crocodile Birkin, 35cm

The BAG! The BAG! Insane right?! I wish I had gotten better photographs, but I have to admit I was slightly terrified of it the whole day! (I returned it quickly) I don’t know that I would ever BUY one of these, but it sure was fun to tote it around all day, talk about a statement piece! Oh and it matched my favorite red heels. But it was heavy and is quite cumbersome, so I don’t know. I have some smaller Birkin bags (that I rarely carry), perhaps I just haven’t grown into the Hermes brand yet! But for a day?! Sure why not! It was kind of fun being the borrower, as I’m normally the one loaning pieces from my closet!

Sunday (as Saturday was a PJ day, after 15-16 hours in the car on Friday!), I changed into this after we worked the final water station at the half marathon:

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Skirt: Kate Spade (I couldn’t resist repeating it…after hunting for it for a couple of years!)
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin, strassed in Alexandrite AB stones

And finally today: (please pardon the lint!)

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Belt: secondhand
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin

For all you Disney lovers, the 13-mile marker!

Hope your weekend was grand! I know I’m excited to have tomorrow to stay home and relax, I need it.

Until next time,

Jules

On Wednesday We Wear Pink

Hello Wednesday! I actually got dressed today (whereas yesterday I stayed home in PJs all day catching up on emails and administrative stuff around the house!), and while I didn’t FEEL bright and cheery. I LOOKED bright and cheery!

  1. Cardigan: INC (secondhand)
  2. Dress: Kate Spade
  3. Belt: secondhand
  4. Shoes: Kate Spade

Both my shoes & dress came from The Real Real….oh geez I love that site!! It’s great for finding older pieces!

Until next time,

Jules

Come on Down…

Yesterday I took Auntie to the Price is Right!

We had a ball! I can’t say what happened on the show, other than it was CRAZY!!! Our episode airs on February 19, 2016! And yes, we were totally overdressed! But hey, I don’t do t-shirts and we had a theatrical performance to attend right afterwards.

Pantages for “Beauty and the Beast”:

Oh it was MAGICAL! The cast was amazing!!

I also changed my shoes:

 Today I wore this:

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Dress: Kate Spade
  3. Belt: secondhand
  4. Necklace: Kate Spade
  5. Shoes: Jimmy Choo

I spent most of the morning baking for the cross country end of season party this afternoon:

beautiful, right? Well within 10 minutes it looked like this:

Destroyed! Teenagers!!! It was like ants on a piece of cake, crazy and fun to watch. Granted, they did have to wait until AFTER awards, so I imagine it was quite torturous for them. I’m a firm believer in making kids wait every now and then, I think it’s always a good lesson, especially with how “I want IT NOW” our society has gotten (hey, I’m guilty too!).

And now to crash. I’ve been going non-stop for weeks it seems. But tomorrow I’m excited for a “down” day. I need to catch up on boring household duties!

Until next time,

Jules
