Giveaway Winner!

Oh my goodness, I haven’t had time to sit down much this week, but I did pick a winner!!

I’ve been heads down in the kitchen:

Sunday we did make it to church, I wore this:

Cardigan: JCrew Kids
Dress: Kate Spade
Shoes: Kate Spade

Yesterday, I had dreams of Capri, as we enjoyed 80-degree weather:

Cardigan: JCrew Kids (I love this cardigan!)
Dress: Kate Spade Elza Dress
Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Handbag: Kate Spade (killer Nordstrom rack find!)

And today, (well more like yesterday as its past midnight now!) yes, I baked in this, isn’t that what an apron is for?!:

Cardigan: Kate Spade
Dress: Kate Spade (it’s like a reddish-pink hue. I didn’t like it at first, but I love it now!)
Belt: Kate Spade
Shoes: Jimmy Choo
Handbag: Kate Spade

Did you buy anything from the surprise sale? I picked up a few things, but I am disappointed that the dresses I want have not only not gone on sale, they have disappeared off Kate Spade completely! I’m not sure what’s going on over there, but I’m slightly disappointed with this season’s offerings. Hopefully as 2015 progresses the line will go back to what I love about it.

And if not? Well, I don’t need another dress anyway!

Until next time,

Giveaway Winner!

And even though it is SUPER late, it IS still the 22nd here in California!!!

To calculate a winner I assigned each entry a number (based on when they were received by me), and used

And the winner is…..

Faith Giambattista, an entry received via e-mail. Faith, send me an email with your shipping address please, and I will send this your way:

In other news my husband is starting a new job (and oh what a wonderful blessing it turned out to be!! I am super excited his commute is dropping to 10 miles vs 43 miles! Hello lunch dates!!!!), and they were kind enough to invite us to their Christmas party this past weekend (even though he doesn’t start until next year!). I wore some lovely sequins, AND we took some fun crazy photos:

We are just a couple of goofballs!!! I was exhausted from spending 15 hours at Disneyland on Friday, but managed to keep the yawns at bay until we got in the car! Sunday I wore the same dress for the Christmas Eve dinner shopping run:

Cardigan: JCrew Kids
Dress: Kate Spade (via Bloomingdales. Who has excellent customer service I might add!) It’s on sale right now too!
Shoes: heels-Kate Spade (what I wore Saturday night), flats-Christian Louboutin (they are this gorgeous navy blue with swirls of glitter, like a night sky! You cannot tell in photos)

I have been regulated to the backseat now that my teenager is driving:

And I made a bazillion cake pops yesterday AND my salted chocolate chip cookies. All that’s left for Christmas Eve is the pumpkin pie!!

I did not take an outfit shot today, I’ve been struggling with a wicked migraine and admit to coming home from work and putting on PJs earlier than I care to admit!!! Are you working this week? It hardly feels like Christmas is just two days away. As a kid you never think the magic will go away, but it totally does!!!! Frankly I’m more excited about a 4-day weekend. Tax season starts in January and so the break is very welcome!

Congratulations Faith!

Until next time,

Is it Friday again?! 2014 is flying by, and I just want time to slow down!!! Don’t get me wrong, I ADORE the holiday season, but I also wish it lasted WAY longer!!! It just seems to be going really fast this year!!!

Yesterday I stayed home. I worked on these:

Made these:

Went to see my youngest two perform in their first violin concert, and wore this:

Cardigan: Kate Spade (sample piece)
Skirt: Kate Spade
Shoes: Kate Spade
Handbag: Kate Spade

(Um, I do believe I have a problem!!)

Today I braved the windy rainy weather in this, because you know wearing pants would be, “normal”!

Cardigan: Kate Spade
Skirt: Vintage
Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Handbag: Kate Spade

And this evening I’m sitting up in my room watching the gorgeous desert evening pass me by:

Have a wonderful weekend!

Until next time,

Today was a wild day. I started out the day with a super cute skirt, but due to high winds, I had to change!

Cardigan: Talbots (thrifted)
Blouse: Anthropologie (thrifted)
Skirt: Kate Spade (the skirt that started it all!)
Shoes: Christian Louboutin

And what I changed into this afternoon (I had to run out of the house for some errands. I wasn’t keen on flashing the whole world!)

Cardigan: Kate Spade
Dress: Target (under $10 on sale!)
Shoes: Kate Spade (Off Fifth outlet)

And what I’ve been up to the past couple of days, TONS of cake pops & French Macarons:

I’m finished for the week, but it starts back up next week!! My two oldest kids’ birthday is Sunday, but they prefer a baskin-robbins ice cream cake to anything I make. While it makes me a little sad, I’m secretly relieved, as it sure is easy to walk in an order a cake!!

Hope y’all are having a fabulous week! Hard to believe it’s the end of April already!

Until next time,

In Need of a Martini

This morning I feel as if I need a martini. Now, I rarely drink, just because of health reasons, but some days.

So today, I threw on my martini skirt, which is usually as close to anything besides water I get!

Cardigan: Ann Taylor (something I tend to wear a lot, basic black cardigan!)
Skirt: itw by Claude Brown
Shoes: Jimmy Choo Jonquil Strassed flats

My shoes: (which I’ve photographed 15 different ways and then some by now!)

Yesterday The Engineer and I played hooky and went to Disneyland for an early Valentine’s date. Our schedules don’t allow for any celebration tomorrow (other than the fun I have planned for the children), so we managed the one day this week we could swing. It was busy, I didn’t realize that in addition to it being Fat Tuesday it was also a holiday for many schools down there. Oops!!

I wore my Alannah Hill dress & red Jimmy Choo flats. Sadly the only photo I got was this one:

And then I came home and spent the evening making these:

I spent much time today spreading the love, the love of cake pops that is!

Do you have big plans for tomorrow?

Until next time,

Navy Blues

Let me say, I am super excited to see that we are supposed to hit 70 degrees today! So, I rather dressed accordingly (okay, so I also have my coat, gloves and scarf, but that covers up all the color), and decided to “color block”. Not that I follow trends, I just like to dress the way I dress.

Cardigan: Ann Taylor
Blouse: Banana Republic (this is a favorite of mine)
Skirt: Banana Republic
Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Necklace: unknown
Watch: Omega Seamaster (vintage, men’s)
Handbag: purple Kate Spade (not pictured. It matches my sweater)

I made my boss a small treat last night as we tackle paperwork and taxes today:

A few lemon cake balls. I still have some Macarons from last week for myself. It’s going to be a super fun morning!

Happy Tuesday!

Until next time,

John Maxwell

I realize this is mainly a fashion blog, however I simply could not resist sharing MY morning experience!

We have had the privilege of seeing John Maxwell speak this weekend, spend time with us, share a fantastic church message with us, and of course, he signs books! (old, new, dog-eared, doesn’t matter!)

So his new book is out

And I’ve gotten about 30 pages into it, it’s really great. We are all leaders, not just those IN a leadership position. Do you have children? Then you are a leader! I just love John’s line “I’m John, and I’m your friend”. Don’t call him Mr Maxwell, Dr Maxwell, call him John. He is the anti-celebrity, which is really nice.

So we got the book signed (and a few others)

And I passed him a pair of cake pops, peanut butter cup & white chocolate. I suppose I should have taken a picture! But I didn’t want to hold up the line. He had mentioned Friday night how he loves snickers candy bars, so all weekend he’s been given 100’s of them. I figured he likes snickers, he likes peanut butter, might as well. 🙂 We have the privilege of spending a weekend with him once a year, so next year he expects more cake pops! (he is shameless when it comes to begging to things, tissues, candy, etc. it’s quite amusing)

Anyway, that was my morning. Back in the late 80’s my grandfather knew him, it’s neat to see how far and big he’s gotten and see he is just as humble now as I’m sure he was then. (not that I remember, but he remembers my grandfather, which is awesome! Sadly my grandfather is no longer with us, or I’m sure he would be up here in Vegas with us)

Have a lovely day, we are going to finish up with our conference and head home. I have a very busy week in front of me! Back to the grind!!

Until next time,
