Oh My!

Thats been my week. “Oh My!”.

Tuesday I wore this:

  2. Skirt: secondhand vintage
  3. Belt: Kate Spade
  4. Shoes: Christian Louboutin
  5. Handbag: Kate Spade

  1. Dress: Hobbs
  2. Belt:  Unknown (secondhand find)
  3. Shoes: Jimmy Choo
  4. Necklace: Banana Republic
  5. Handbag: Kate Spade

  1. Dress: Alannah Hill
  2. Shoes: Christian Louboutin

Yesterday was my daughter’s birthday:

And today I had to go to LA, so we did our yearly track to American Girl for our mother-daughter birthday lunch:

We visited Kate Spade in Pasadena,

(hello fall 2015!!! I left it behind, it’s adorable, but I have my eye on some pieces later in the year!)

And Sugarfina in Beverly Hills AND Pasadena:

The Pasadena store is such a hidden treasure! I love that it’s tucked away, and also right by Kate Spade!!

I got into some trouble later….I am really REALLY loving SJP shoes! So well made and the arch is PERFECT for my bony bumpy ex-ice skaters feet!

Le sigh. Yes they came home. Under $60, who could say no?! Quick, someone take away my Visa card!

The Paper Bag Princess….my favorite find of the day. Right at Robertson & Olympic in Los Angeles, it’s a unique collection is amazing treasures! The hats! The jewels! The vintage couture Chanel! It’s my new “must see” recommendation for a trip to LA! The costume jewels alone, wowzers! It’s such a gorgeously curated collection too. I did not take any photos, merely enjoyed the beauty of the treasures. Their website for more information.

Until next time,

Today The Muppet went out! But first, what I wore to stay home and bake (because my daughter requested strawberry cupcakes for school tomorrow for a party….and I said yes):

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Top: Kohls
  3. Belt: Target
  4. Skirt: Vintage (bought at 55 Thousand Dresses, I think two years ago?)
  5. Shoes: Christian Louboutin
  6. Handbag: Kate Spade

And I had an event tonight, and in true “me” fashion decided to break out some sparkles:

  1.  Blouse: Alannah Hill
  2. Skirt: Alannah Hill
  3. Necklaces: Kate Spade (Pearl & crystal one), vintage (long strand of pearls)
  4. Handbag: The Muppet (Kate Spade)
  5. Shoes: Christian Louboutin
  6. Bracelets: Banana Republic & Vintage

Not pictured, but I also threw my dark mink coat over the whole ensemble and had on HUGE earrings. So fun!!!!! Shhhhh, don’t tell anyone I wore heels…I admit to being seated most of the night and I walked around the house barefoot until I got in the car. Walking was minimal. But I AM feeling it. OOPS!

Strawberry cupcakes:

Yummy!!! I ended up with about 2 extra dozen, so my husband is going to have some VERY happy co-workers tomorrow!

Until next time,

On Wednesday We Wear Pink

Hope your Wednesday was equally beautiful!

Until next time,

May The 4th Be With You

Now, let me say, until I met my husband, married him, and acquired my two step sons, I was NOT a Star Wars fan. AT ALL. As in, I was quite proud that I had never seen the movies!

Oh how that has changed over the past four years! Especially after realizing the boys’ birthday is today, on May 4th! (Yes, they share a birthday! Always a very interesting conversation to say the least) So, I am now a Star Wars fan. In fact, The Revenge of the Sith is currently blaring on our TV. Although, I much prefer movies 4, 5, and 6, merely due to being a HUGE Harrison Ford fan.

Anyway, there’s a little fun trivia about myself today. That said, I am continuing on my “A Dress a Day in May” journey, with this striped number:

Dress: Kate Spade Mariella Dress
Belt: Alannah Hill
Shoes: Kate Spade
Handbag: Kate Spade
Brooch: Vintage

I know so far I have stuck to Kate Spade dresses this month, and while I almost have enough to wear a different one each day, I will end up mixing it up. It was nearly 90 degrees today where I live, which means I’m not going to be wearing heavy wool dresses in May! I really do need to wear more of my clothes, or purge my closet (again!). We shall see!

Have a fabulous Sunday!

Until next time,

Thursday is always an odd day for me. The kids have early release at school, plus I have bible study, and sometimes also end up going to work. Today was no exception, well, except work was at my house because I’m baking like a madwoman still!

But I decided to pull out some sparkle this morning:

Cardigan: Target
Dress: Kate Spade
Belt: Alannah Hill
Shoes: Kate Spade
Bag: Kate Spade
Necklace: unknown

Of course in addition to all the macarons this week, I have a small cake to delivery tomorrow. Some teasers:

Zebra, shimmery glittery pink AND hidden mickeys?! Yes please!! Can’t wait to throw it all together. I know the birthday girl is going to be thrilled!

In addition to the dress sale I have going on, stay tuned for my 2-year blog anniversary giveaway!! I just received the last piece of my “puzzle” today and I am SO excited to share this!! Especially as it’s things chosen by me.

Until next time,

Roaring Twenties

So, today I am embracing my inner 20’s girl. You know, I WAS born a century too late, in terms of fashion. Medically and technologically, well, I’m happy with living right now!! And air conditioning!!! Let me just say, how those southern belles survived, I am in awe.

Blouse: Target
Skirt: Alannah Hill
Shoes: Montana Strass Christian Louboutin
Handbag: Kate Spade
Earrings: Target
Necklace: Kate Spade
Headpiece: Vintage (garage sale!!)

My bible study started last Thursday, and we are blessed to hear personal testimony last week and this week. Then we will be digging in to Gideon by Priscilla Shirer. Should be interesting. I’m always excited by a good theological study. But today I was tasked to bring a dessert, so I made some almond-raspberry thumbprint cookies last night:

Mmmm. My car now smells super yummy! What is it about almond-flavoured sweets? They get me every time!

Until next time,

April Fools Day

First off, any good pranks today? I half had my oldest child convinced he had school today, a final, and that he was late! Very funny. Teenage boys, they are an interesting lot.

Second, some outfit recaps! This was Saturday:

Cardigan: Target
Camisole: Felina
Tank top: Gap (ages old!)
Skirt: Nanette Lepore
Shoes: Violet & Violet AB strass Christian Louboutin flats (done by moi)
Handbag: Coach
Necklace: my knockoff who knows where it’s from but it wishes it was VCA enamel necklace.

And today, although I’ve since shed my shoes and Miss Beatrice is back in rotation, but tucked away somewhere and frankly, I’m too tired to hunt her down:

Cardigan: Old Navy
Dress: Alannah Hill

And for the fun part! I enlisted an old friend to help me with my giveaway drawing:

My first designer item ever, Christian Dior Barbie! (Although my daughter coloured her hair with a pink market once upon a time. It gives her flair!)

She then grabbed a friend for an impromptu photo shoot:

So there you have it. Hayley and Jayna Rae, contact me to claim your prize! Congratulations!

Happy April Fools Day!

Now off to nurse my back, I pulled a muscle or something yesterday. Oops.

Until next time,
