So if you subscribe via email, this will be the second one you receive. Nothing like hitting “post” in the middle of uploading photos!

Anyway, this dress! I snagged it while skimming through Nordstrom Rack the other day and could NOT RESIST! It’s a size up from what I normally buy, but this particular designer, sometimes her smallest is a 2, so I didn’t even think, I GRABBED! I’ll probably have my tailor take it in, although it wasn’t that noticeable….sometimes it’s nice to have a dress that isn’t a perfect fit, you can eat in it! I added some sparkly accessories and was quite pleased with the outcome:

  1. Dress: Adrianna Papell
  2. Belt: Kate Spade (same belt as yesterday, just in navy)
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin, strassed by me
  4. Handbag: Kate Spade
  5. Necklace & Bracelet: Kate Spade

The fabric on this dress is lovely, it’s lined AND has pocket. I’ve always loved Adrianna Papell, although I’ve felt in the past the dresses had a definite “20’s” feel to them. I’ve bought a few recently though, and they just fit beautifully! For under $50, I simply couldn’t resist! The length is nice as well, and the biggest bonus it due to how the skirt is cut? It’s windproof! Very important after last weeks excitement!

Until next time,

Jules

Thursday

Oooooo, this week is flying! Last night I actually changed to go out, as it was super cold! I don’t often wear tights, but I think this may be the year of exploring tights & some wild coloured ones!

  1. Jacket: Target
  2. Dress: Kate Spade
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin
  4. Necklace: glass beads with a Ben Amun brooch

Today I took a summery eyelet dress and added accessories to make it more “fall” appropriate. Granted, “cold” where we live is anything under 60 degrees, but it does drop into the 20’s and 30’s at night!

  1. Cardigan: Target (2+ years ago)
  2. Dress: Adrianna Papell
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin
  4. Necklace: glass beads (these have been on heavy rotation lately!) with a vintage brooch
  5. Handbag: Kate Spade

My outfit, if you subtract the cost of my shoes (which were still secondhand and minimal compared to their retail!) was less than $30! I got a lot of compliments today as well, it really was a classic look. Black heels would have looked just as good, however I liked the extra “pop” of the silver heels (and they are so comfortable!!).

Until next time,

Jules

Fashion District Bound!

Whew, what an exciting day today was! A girlfriend of mine and I set out early this morning for downtown LA, specifically to look at sparkly things! Along the way we stopped in Burbank at this lovely store, It’s a Wrap, where they sell items from movie & TV sets! I’ve been to the Hollywood location before.

I only bought two things, this Adrianna Papell dress ($8)

And this vintage poodle skirt ($4)

My girlfriend found a pair of Stuart Weitzman heels for $3.40!!! (The whole store was 20% or more off) They need new jewels on the toe, but we remedied that at the crystal shops in downtown LA.

I did find a few verrrry tempting items. One was too large (but a stunning DKNY skirt, black & gold brocade), and the other two skirts, well, I wasn’t willing to shell out their asking price. Which I feel was a tad high. But, defiantly a must-stop if you are in the Los Angeles area.

Here was my outfit today, all laid out last night:

Bold? Yes, but why not? Here’s it on:

Cardigan: Target, little girls’ section
Skirt: Banana Republic (summer ’12)
Shoes: Strassed Manolo Blahnik flats
Handbag: Kate Spade
Jewelry: Omega watch & vintage necklace

The shoes I actually ended up wearing:

As much as I adore my multi-colored Manolos, my feet refused to cooperate. (Naught feet!!) It worked out, as I love my Jimmy Choo flats for lots of walking.

After It’s a Wrap, we headed into downtown, and got to meet someone special, Joey from Redo My Shoe which was a real treat! He has an amazing personality, and is so real and down to earth. I felt an instant affinity for him in our emails, and I’m just so excited he IS all that and a bag of vegan veggies in person!

We of course picked up sparkly things (hello?!), Light Siam for a pair of crazy shoes I’m doing for my boss (these will be amazing, let me tell you!!!), and some trims to make bib necklaces:

I have to say though, the true highlight of my day (sorry Joey!!!!) was Freebirds World Burrito. I haven’t had one since being in Texas a few years back. My tummy is so happy, it was amazing.

Now off to play with my new “toys”!

Until next time,
