Weekend Recap

Another crazy May weekend is coming to a close (thankfully!!), and I’ve sat down for a few moments to recap the past few days of outfits! I have kept to my “dress a day in may” resolution, and while I have repeated dresses, I think due to many outfit changes on some days, I should exceed 31 different dresses.

That said, Friday I wore this, a new (old) dress I picked up on eBay (I’ve managed some great scores lately on some older pieces!):

Cardigan: Target
Dress: Kate Spade
Belt: eBay
Shoes: Jimmy Choo strass
Bracelets: Kate Spade

Yesterday I put this on to finish some things around the house before heading to a party last night:

Dress: Alannah Hill
Shoes: Nina (but Strassed by me)

What I wore to the party last night:

Dress: Abaete (goodwill)
Belt: It’s a Wrap
Shoes: Montana Strass Christian Louboutin heels

And today I wore a new dress to church, I popped out to the Kate Spade outlet in Desert Hills (love y’all so much!!!), and my amazing sales associate out there had not only one, but two dresses I had on my “wish list”. Both were black & white, but as I’m a sucker for a good dress with pockets that fits beautifully, I am not ashamed to admit I purchased both!! It probably helped my decision that they are dresses from the retail store, not an outlet version. Soo, without further ado, my Adette dress:

Dress: Kate Spade Adette
Shoes: Kate Spade
Bracelets: Kate Spade

I just have to say, the Adette is right up there with the Emma style dress for me now! I adore the fit, the length is perfect, and of course it has pockets! Now I’m going to be looking for the grey & white version that was released earlier this year. Sigh. While I realize it’s similar to the Gayle dress (outlet only style) I purchased last month, the fabric is different and it has a small “sleeve”. The other dress I picked up Friday was the Hope dress, on sale online. Or call the outlet, they are happy to ship for a small fee.

A couple of snaps from a dear friends 30th birthday last night. I wore the white dress above at her request. And made French macarons & individual raspberry pies. The theme was “white & cobalt blue”:

So pretty! Happy Birthday C!!!

Until next time,

All Dressed Up

What a Thursday I had! I started this morning off cooking for bible study, as it was my week to bring food. However, my children have been home feeling unwell all week, and so I dropped the food and came home to spend the day with them.

I did leave a present for my table ladies though:

And I wore this:

Cardigan: Kate Spade (an early valentines present!)
Skirt: JCrew (thrifted)
Shoes: Strassed Christian Louboutin done by Joey of Redo My Shoe

And then this evening I busted out my $4 thrifted Abaete dress and my fur, and got all dressed up and went out with my husband:

Dress: Abaete (a now defunct clothing line. Retailed for over $500 new)
Belt: Vintage, $1 @ local thrift shop
Shoes Crystal AB Strassed Christian Louboutin simples
Clutch: Escada (purchased at It’s a Wrap)
Bracelets: diamond tennis bracelet + costume pearl piece from a friend
Fur: Dark Ranch Mink, given to me by a dear friend almost 4 years ago.

All in all, a good day!! Now I just need another occasion for the dress! I LOVE it!

Until next time,

Red, White, & Blue

Hey, when a girl has to go to traffic court, it pays to be patriotic, right? Okay, well, perhaps it pays to stay off roads where awful CHP officers hang out, however drive and learn I suppose? (And well, 1st ticket in 16 years, I suppose I shouldn’t complaint too much. Payback for all the times I was super speeding!!) I did have my fine reduced to 1/3 the original fee, and can take whatever traffic court I wish. The officer who wrote the ticket apparently checked every box to make it as difficult as possible! The judge was lovely though. So I paid my fine, will motor on through traffic school (first time EVER!), and watch my speed very very VERY carefully in that particular area!

Lesson learned! And done while looking rather smart if I may say so myself:

Cardigan: Kate Spade (secondhand)
Blouse: Banana Republic outlet (sale, around $10)
Skirt: Vintage made in Italy for Giorgio Beverly Hills (snagged at my local Goodwill yesterday for $2.50. So much for a shopping ban!!)
Shoes: Jimmy Choo
Necklace: Target
Belt: Thrifted (and I looked at it tonight, it’s actually dyed snakeskin! Paid .50 for it. SCORE!)

And for fun a sneak peak from my Instagram teaser tonight. My husband and I have a black tie event this week, and EVERYTHING I am wearing is secondhand in some way (eBay, thrift, it’s a wrap), and of course my shoes are DIY.

I’m still researching the dress, it appears to be a now-defunct clothing line. I thought it was MaxMara at first, but it’s Abaete. I can’t find the same exact piece other than the runway photos, but retail on that brand appears to have been $450-$700. So, $4 was a steal!!! Well, $7 really, as it was $3 to have it cleaned, steamed and one small repair (my dry cleaner didn’t charge for the small zipper repair. I suppose that means I have been spending too much $$ there recently!!). Still it’s like 99% off!

Anyway. Off to bed, 5:45am comes awful early!

Until next time,
