Fashion, Food, Desserts, being a 30-something mom is exciting!

I often wonder where the time has gone….how can I possibly be 35?! I don’t feel old enough to be that number! I know I don’t act my age, or what it seems “35” should act like anyway. So, here is to “35”, and the year ahead! 35 is the new 21 right?

I am not particularly fond of cake, and so I often end up purchasing an ice cream cake on my birthday, not for me, but for the kids:

Here’s to another year….another year of sparkles, blessings, dresses, and lots of change!

Until next time,

Bye Bye 2015

As the sun sets on the last day of 2015, we say goodbye to another year. Much joy, much sadness, and many sparkly shoes happened in 2015. 2016 already has so many possibilities, and I am excited to experience them all!

Happy New Year!

Sad Day

I know I rarely touch on politics or world events on here, but tonight my heart is heavy. As our country faces another senseless loss, I admit this is the first one that REALLY hit close to home…probably because it’s not all that far from where I live, because I’ve been at that intersection more times that I can count, because I know people who work at that facility on certain days, and because I know so many who work in law enforcement that were there on scene today. It’s senseless, awful, and heartbreaking.

I know I held my little ones closer today when they came home from school, and dreaded the discussion with them about what happened. They knew already (they don’t have social media, but their friends do!), and it sure is interesting to see the opinions kids have even at such a young age. It’s not a conversation I wanted to have with them, but it is one that is important. We live in dark times, and they need to be somewhat prepared.

So hold your loved ones a little tighter tonight and be thankful for another day on this earth. Know God’s plan, while we may not understand it, is working all around us. My condolences to anyone facing a loss today, my heart and prayers are with you. May you find peace among the turmoil of the coming days.

With a very heavy heart,

I finished some major projects last week:

Monday, AGAIN?!

Oh Monday, we meet once again. Our weather is changing (AGAIN!), and as such the winds picked up immensely. So today was a two-outfit kind of day (I secretly love it…I would love to change 3-4 times a day! I know.)

I started in this:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Belt: Anthropologie
  3. Shoes: Kate Spade
  4. Necklace: Kohls

And I changed into this, which I chose as it’s our school colors and tonight was the team meeting for fall sports!

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Shoes: Christian Louboutin
  3. Handbag: Eugene (by Kate Spade of course)

Yes, I took Eugene tonight, and the best part? My husband ended up with him! My husband is the best at that, always carrying around my stuff. I think he secretly has as much fun with the snail as I did.

Did you know I’m having a blog sale? Proceeds will go to charity. Blog Sale I also have some items listed elsewhere, but the pricing is the same across the board. I recently donated a huge pile of clothing, but decided to keep a few things to sell and donate the proceeds to a worthy cause, Skip1, who builds kitchens and feeds people all over the world. I met Shelene a few weeks back and she really touched me. I have excess…time to spread it around just a bit!

Until next time,

Happy Friday

Ooooooo, how happy am I to see the end of this week! I’ve just been “off” all week! I plan on doing lots of spring cleaning this weekend and moving some stuff around in the house. *cross fingers*

Today I started in this…but wasn’t feeling it, so I changed before heading out for the morning:

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade (off eBay)
  2. Skirt: Kate Spade (another eBay find!)
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin (secondhand site…so thrilled to find these after the initial pair I found never quite turned up. I guess I got obsessive to hunt them down after that?!)

My second outfit:

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade (currently available at the outlets…on sale for under $70 too!)
  2. Skirt: Kate Spade (another eBay score…I adore these sequins!!)
  3. Shoes: Sophia Webster (Last Call find)

I know the general “look” of both outfits is the same, but I just felt happier in the sequin skirt! And bright happy shoes. A side by side:

Maybe I just needed sequins and shiny pink shoes in my life today! After spending yesterday in my PJs most of the day, it was insanely windy, I did throw on pants to do the school runs:

Never hurts to have a little sparkle! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Until next time,
