Fashion, Food, Desserts, being a 30-something mom is exciting!

Friday!

For me, yesterday was my “Friday”, so today I had some adventures. I booked a chiropractor for 7am (why?!), and then followed it up by having a coffee “date” with my husband. Or rather, I bring him hot chocolate (HE DOES NOT DRINK COFFEE! I know!), I have coffee and I watch him work for 20-30 minutes. It’s become a bit of a Friday ritual (last week it was lunch, depends on my schedule), I might call it our weekly “date”, just because by the time we get home in the late afternoon we both prefer to stay home. I know, we need to get out more!

It was another warm day, but I did start with a cardigan because it was in the 40’s when I left:

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade (outlet last year)
  2. Dress: Kate Spade (old)
  3. Belt: Kate Spade
  4. Shoes: Kate Spade
  5. Necklace: Target

I also picked out new glasses today!

They are Vera Wang…and a little bigger than the ones I have now. As I get older, it’s nice to have a bigger pair, I see better. Luckily my vision has not changed, so I’ll be able to swap between them and my current pair. I know, I look like a goofball! But that’s me! And yes, I carry a water cup EVERYWHERE. And snacks in my handbag. Such a mom!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend planned! Mine is tackling the cake orders I have (6 birthday cakes!) and helping (okay, making) my youngest with his mission project. We are making it 100% edible. I thought about doing a cake, but we are going with sugar cubes and royal icing. Should be fun! He’s super excited, my kids love it when they get to mess around in the kitchen. I should probably let them more often!

Until next time,

Jules

  3. I think this outfit is so fantastic and PERFECT for a Friday, because with the removal of the cardigan it is instant evening attire. Way to go girl! Do you have any other suggestions for switching from day to evening wear?

    • Thanks! Well, some simple and easy ideas….keep a pair of snazzy strappy sandals tucked away, and a bomb statement necklace. I work from home most of the time, so I just change shoes/necklace here, but if your in an office setting, keep a spare pair of strappy evening shoes in your desk (or locker, etc) and a really nice statement necklace, some red lipstick, and perhaps matching earrings on hand. A versatile clutch/evening bag would be good too. I always kept a “go” bag in my car when I worked days away from home. Perfume, lipstick, powder, etc. And a snack, because if you are heading to a party or to dinner somewhere, it could be some time before you actually eat! If cocktails are involved, always smart to start with something on your stomach. 🙂

Of course these days, I’m usually tucked into bed by about 9pm. Mom life! 😉
