TGIF!

Yay Friday! My outfit today:

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade (old!)
  2. Skirt: vintage, Thrifted
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin

Isn’t this cardigan gorgeous? The detailing is just stunning! I was excited to find this piece recently!

I did decide on a costume for the fall festival tonight, I pulled out pieces and threw together a flapper ensemble. However I was hit with an insane migraine just before leaving and didn’t get any photos. I cannot tell you how thankful I was tonight that my oldest drives! He got back from a huge cross country event about an hour into the event and I was able to come home and crash. Luckily my migraine “broke”, and I feel human again, even if it is nearly midnight. Whoops! Nothing worse than a sudden migraine like that, although if I had been paying attention I would have known it was looming! I get strange auras before, but I don’t always catch them. Sigh.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend! I am off on another adventure Sunday night, so my posting may be sporadic over the next week as I travel in & out of town again.

Until next time,

Jules

Thursday

Today was ROUGH. It’s been really humid where we live and my arthritis has been, well rather rude about it. So those 5:30am alarms are rude too! But I dragged myself out this morning to a school board meeting at 7am (I highly recommend all parents attend at least one, it gives you a different perspective on what’s going on), and had to look halfway presentable:

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Dress: Kate Spade Liana Dress
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin Simples
  4. Necklace: Kate Spade

Of course I did change before going to work this afternoon, as the Liana dress is gorgeous, but my ribs are bugging me again, so I needed something a little looser to run around in all afternoon! So I pulled out this number:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Belt: Thrifted
  3. Shoes: Jimmy Choo (I’ve had these since before I started blogging! 4+ years)

I don’t love this dress all that much, but I get so many comments on it when I wear it. It’s got so many options for shoes and belts too, with the hot air balloon colors! My main dislike of it is the fact that it’s incredibly difficult to get on and off. The fabric is also rather heavy and we’ve had such warm weather all year! It was in the mid 70’s today, so I was able to wear it and not be too hot OR need a cardigan! Best part? It has pockets! I am glad I picked it up, I just wish it was easier to put on and take off.

Are you gearing up for Halloween? We have our school fall festival tomorrow night and I am so at a loss for a costume this year!! Any ideas? I am open to suggestions for tomorrow night!

Until next time,

Jules

Wait, WHAT?!

Yes, I am sitting here saying just that. I had a lovely day, only to check the news before bed to see that one of those Kardashion people has the same birthday as I do. (Well she’s older, but still) I celebrated in a much calmer way though!

My first outfit:

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Dress: Kate Spade (super old…I’ve had this for about a year and hadn’t worn it. It’s too big though! I guess I’ve lost weight and not realized it)
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin
  4. Handbag: Kate Spade (a birthday present from a mentor/friend/someone special)

My youngest has half day all week so he took me to Starbucks (shhhh, I gave him “his” card, which was actually a card I put money on so he could “pay”. He’s so precious!), and then I took him to Waba Grill, we shared a bowl that we took home:

Mmmmmm. So yummy. It’s a huge portion though! I think I’ll get a kids bowl next time! Of course I had a strawberry cupcake too….my favorite. I had made dessert for our bible study dinner tonight…shhhh, most of them didn’t know it was my birthday. I’m a ninja like that! I did change before we went though…I mean what’s a birthday without outfit changes?!

(Love this face I’m making…I have NO IDEA WHAT I WAS THINKING! It seemed appropriate though, so enjoy!)

  1. Kate Spade (recent poshmark find! It’s an older style, gorgeous heavy fabric & lining!!)
  2. Belt: Anthropologie
  3. Shoes: Jimmy Choo (oh how I love these! This was my INSANE find in Arizona two weeks ago. In fact, I’m going to say these are my sparkly birthday present to myself.)

I must admit, normally I go buy myself something on my birthday, but I did not this year. I’m trying to chill a bit on non-essential purchases, just because. My closet is bursting, and even with nearly a dozen pairs of shoes on loan for a film project, my shoe racks are also out of control! My weekend goal is to really take some time and clear some things out. I have a lot of pieces I don’t wear, but don’t want to get rid of! But it’s time (again!).

Until next time,

Jules

Tuesday

I am DRAGGING this week. Our trip up north took an unexpected turn due to weather and what is normally about a 6 hour drive home turned into a 9 hour drive, as we had to take a different route! It was GORGEOUS though….we came over on hwy 4 to 395 south, and the scenery on the pass was insane! We also saw the beginning of the first snow of the season! The smell was just glorious. Even though the drive was long, it was so beautiful we enjoyed every moment!! Some photos:

It was about 40 degrees out when we passed through around 4pm. We drove with the windows on and the heater running! Kept the kiddos from getting carsick.

Some attire from the past few days. Thursday for the drive north: (this dress is quickly becoming a staple! I think I need to hunt it down in blue & black)

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Belt: Secondhand
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin
  4. Handbag: Kate Spade

Friday we went to the Moaning Caverns, took the walking tour and the kids panned for gems. This is the only photo I have of my attire…we had so much fun just enjoying the moments!  (Yes, I have PANTS ON! Please excuse the background…just keeping it real)

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade (outlet a couple years ago)
  2. Blouse: Banana Republic Outlet, 2 years ago? Maybe 3?
  3. Pants: Banana Republic
  4. Handbag: Kate Spade, but I call her Belle.

I didn’t get my outfit on Saturday, but here’s Sunday after we got home and my husband and I HAD to go buy food for the week:

  1.  Cardigan: Kate Spade (3-ish years old?)
  2. Skirt: Kate Spade
  3. Handbag: Kate Spade (from the most recent surprise sale)
  4. Shoes: Kate Spade (older style)

Yesterday…as it’s finally starting to feel like fall!

  1. Sweater: Banana Republic
  2. Skirt: Vintage (this skirt is a workhorse! I’ve had it several years and it is just perfect)
  3. Shoes: Kate Spade

And finally today….school spirit colors of course!

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade Outlet (currently on sale racks! They have it in black too. I only bought the blue)
  2. Dress: Kate Spade
  3. Belt: Kate Spade
  4. Shoes: Christian Louboutin

This time of year is always so busy, it’s like the kickoff to the insanity of Chrismas Holidays. First week back from break is always brutal! Then we have our huge fall festival this week and next week is Halloween. I’m not prepared for either one! Eek!

Until next time,

Jules

Wednesday?!

Wait, what?! It’s Wednesday already?! Yikes!! This is the last week of the kids’ fall break and I am just all out of wack!

Yesterday I wore this:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Belt: Secondhand (I think it was handmade)
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin

And today:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Belt: Kate Spade
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin

I’ve had the shoes I wore today for a few months, but couldn’t bring myself to wear them!! That first time wearing a new pair of Louboutins is SO HARD!!!! But I’m glad I did, today was just an awful, no-good, very bad day! That little sparkly “love” helped though!

Until next time,

Jules

Monday Blues

Monday oh Monday. After having the last week (nearly) “off”, today was a little rough. I remember why I don’t like to be gone from home for long periods of time, between sleeping in strange beds, to breaking our normal routine, but I am thankful we went and my husband and I had some kid-free time away from our home! (Thanks to my BRAVE mom and dad who hosted the kids at “camp” for the whole time!!!)

I admit to not taking many photos of outfits while we were gone, mainly due to the lighting in the hotel in Phoenix, and our weekend here in Southern California was mostly phone-free. (I admit to checking Facebook and Instagram, but I didn’t post anything. Which is hard for me!!) But I will share some of my brilliant shopping finds while I was gone!

These gorgeous clutches, the pink is Ted Baker & the blue Kate Spade:
The Kate Spade”world map” scarves in BOTH colors!

One of the many SJP shoes I bought…I love these as I did now own a nude pair of shoes before.

This GORGEOUS Halston Heritage dress. The tailoring on it is sublime:

Some outfits:

Tueaday, my first shopping “adventure” (hit outlets + secret shopping spot)

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Dress: Kate Spade (via The Real Real)
  3. Belt: Kate Spade
  4. Shoes: Sophia Webster Remmie

I changed for dinner that night into this:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Belt: Ted Baker
  3. Shoes: Jimmy Choo
  4. Necklace: Kate Spade
  5. Clutch: Ted Baker

The dress, clutch & shoes were all purchased while in Arizona. All 3 pieces were under $100 TOTAL. I know. I was dying. See my ridiculous facial expression? And my poor discarded Sophia Webster Remmie heels in the bottom right corner? I got the best compliment from a server at the restaurant, really set the tone for the whole trip!

Wednesday, another trip to the secret shopping spot (this time not so overwhelmed and armed with a list for friends! I also hit the big mall in Scottsdale to visit Kate Spade. I didn’t buy anything at the mall, just redeemed all my birthday month freebies!)

  1. Blouse: Kohls (old, I need to find a replacement!)
  2. Skirt: Anthropologie
  3. Belt: Secondhand
  4. Shoes: Kate Spade

I also changed again for dinner, because I’m a girl, and when you find gorgeous clothes you want to wear them ASAP!

  1. Dress: Halston Heritage
  2. Clutch: Kate Spade
  3. Shoes: SJP

This was before I had finished my hair, I was still deciding on shoes and clutch. (See discarded shoe pile!) I’ve had these SJP heels for quite a while, however I wish I had waited as they were cheaper in Az. Alas, not to be! But I scored enough other gorgeous shoes for so cheap it evens out I suppose! This Halson dress was under $40, and the clutch was under $50. The dress is that gorgeous heavy silk faille fabric Kate Spade used to use. It’s very well made and I love that the hem is slightly weighted down, perfect for the windy desert I live in!!!

Thursday I slipped my new red dress on again (why oh why did I pack all those clothes again?!), and dragged my husband shopping. (I know, I have ISSUES. We had a ball though. We laughed and snorted and didn’t get lost once!)

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Belt: secondhand
  3. Shoes: SJP (I’m becoming a huge fan of her shoes!!!)

And Friday for the trek back to California and our anniversary trip (very belated!! We had intended to stay over but my husband was on call all weekend, so we had to be fairly close to home)

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Skirt: Topshop
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin, strassed by me

And finally today:

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Dress: Kate Spade
  3. Belt: Anthropologie
  4. Shoes: Kate Spade

I know, outfit repeater!!! Sometimes I fall in love with an article of clothing that I want to wear it ALL THE TIME! I’m sure this is pretty standard!! The dress I wore today is a nice fabric, cut so it won’t fly in the wind, and best of all has pockets! I have a short week before we take off yet again (however this is a last minute thing, as family situations usually are), and I needed comfort and function today as I caught up from a week gone and a short week home. I am thankful the kids have a two week break, as it allows us to have some flexibility in scheduling! So while I’m “back”, it’s still going to be a short week!

If you have questions about any of my shopping finds, please shoot me an email. I know some of the places are closely guarded secret shopping spots, and I completely understand why! And now someone PLEASE take away my Visa card, it needs a break! (And I need to unload some pieces in my closet before anymore additions!!) I even managed to not buy a thing during the sale on sale this weekend! Whew.

Until next time,

Jules
