Friday

Oh Friday (although it’s technically Saturday morning at this point!) how happy was I to see you this week! Between still trying to heal from the accident in May, to dealing with some big issues with kids, school, and utility companies, I’m wiped out! However I have a big cake tomorrow, hence why I’m up so late!

My outfit today:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade (I like this one because it’s very loose, which is beneficial on days like today when everything ACHES)
  2. Shoes: Kate Spade (Saks Fifth Avenue exclusive in 2013/2013)
  3. Handbag: Kate Spade (that one time my husband wanted to buy 5 handbags from a surprise sale…I talked him down to two)
  4. Necklace: Kohls (I think? I don’t really remember!)

I hope you have a wonderful weekend! I’m excited to finish my cake in the morning and spend some downtime with the kids & the husband. I think we all need a “lazy” weekend after the week we have had!

Until next time,

Jules

Pinky

Pinky the baby owl went to the farmers market with me today! It’s been so hot and humid trying to lug around a large bag is not really fun, but it is perfect weather for jelly shoes, as they sort of mold to your feet (I do not recommend wearing for long periods of time!). I love this shift dress for this time of year…if only it had pockets!

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Shoes: Nina
  3. Handbag: Kate Spade

I found this gorgeous vintage Trifari necklace while there:

Then I came home and spent my afternoon making masses of sugar flowers:

And I finally hunted down a partial photograph from Friday night:

But alas you can’t see my shoes nor the color of my dress! Lots of sparkle though!

Until next time,

Jules

Lucky Belle

Today I took Belle out on her first adventure. You know, initially I wasn’t going to buy her, and then I wasn’t sure if I was going to KEEP her. But alas, another novelty bag sucks me in!!

I had planned to go get Chinese food for lunch, but ended up on the other side of town. However I went home and made myself a plate of spicy pan-fried noodles:

So yummy. I always regret it a bit later (they are HOT. The sauce is a sesame garlic with chili paste & hot mustard!), but it’s totally worth it. I could live off noodles! And bread. Oh and any carb-like substance!!

My outfit:

  1. Blouse: Nanette Lepore
  2. Skirt: Escada (thrifted, I’ve had this piece for 6+ years! My sister found it for about $6)
  3. Belt: thrifted
  4. Shoes: Coach, I added Siam crystals to the pointed part, the back is glitter.
  5. Necklace & bracelet: Kate Spade
  6. Watch: Omega (my husbands, but I’ve essentially stolen it.)
  7. Handbag: Kate Spade, outlet exclusive from about a month ago. These sold out SO fast.

Tomorrow I start in on a HUGE cake project…sugar flowers anyone? I’m excited for this one, I don’t often get to make sugar flowers!

Until next time,

Jules

PS: Eugene is doing well, he says hello. Him and Lady are happily engaged. (He moves fast!)

Shoe Repeat

Yes, I repeated my shoes from yesterday today! Those sparkly bows are just TOO MUCH FUN!!

  1. Top: thrifted, $1 (best $1 I ever spent! This lace blouse is like Teflon!!!)
  2. Skirt: Kate Spade
  3. Shoes: Kate Spade

You can see I’m still tired from the weekend. I had to wear my contacts today because I left my prescription sunglasses in my husband’s car last night (oops!!!).

I popped up to the outlet, to see all the new pieces. And once again FORGOT TO TAKE PHOTOS! Duh!! Needless to say the fall bags are adorable, I LOVE the rich colors. I wasn’t excited about any of the apparel, but I don’t need anything anyway. At this point I’m waiting for a couple of the late summer dresses to go on sale and I’m probably done for the year on dresses (unless I find one of the few older ones I still have on my “wish list”). I did however buy these:

Honestly, I am unsure about the wristlet, but decided I better just buy it, or else I will decide I WANT it and it won’t be available. Sigh. I love the coin purse! I’ll probably pop up there when they have their Labor Day weekend sale going on, and hopefully I will remember photos then! If you love either of these pieces, I do suggest purchasing ASAP, as the novelty bags sell out so quick!!

Until next time,

Jules

Monday

Oh if ever there was a day for a case of the Mondays, it was today. I powered through AND got a nap AND managed to feed the family “on time”. I better up my meal planning game this week though!!!

Today I wore this:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Belt: Anthropologie
  3. Shoes: Kate Spade
  4. Handbag: Kate Spade Maryann (I’ve had it for over 3 years!)

And nope, I didn’t iron my dress. You can tell from my face I just did not care. Honestly? Today was a day that if I actually OWNED yoga pants, I would have probably worn them!

We later went out and I took Pinky with me, as my big Maryann bag was just too heavy

There’s a midnight black version too….it’s on the list. This little thing actually holds quite a bit!

Until next time,

Jules

Sunday Musings

As the sun has set on today, on this weekend, a bit of a recap. It’s been insane the past few days, and now that it’s over, I’m exhausted!!

Monday I wore this:

  1. Dress: Milly
  2. Belt: JCrew
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin

Tuesday I did not snap a photo (whoops), but here’s Wednesday’s ensemble:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Belt: Kate Spade
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin

And now for my fashion “faux pas” for the week. I wore the same dress both Thursday AND Friday morning. Because of these POCKETS! (I was running around both days doing prep work for a huge church event….those pockets were a lifesaver!)

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Belt: Kate Spade
  3. Shoes: Jimmy Choo

Friday night was the big event, and while I had a pretty awesome outfit on to match the theme, I did not have the time to stop and snap a photo. I didn’t even get a photo with the speaker at the event! (And I spent a lot of time with her!!) But here’s a few (fuzzy) shots of some of the event….it was a 20’s theme, “Puttin on the Ritz”

Me at about 2pm on Friday…at this point I’d probably put in about 40-50 hours for the whole week (and expected another 12 to go!)

We survived. The event was fantastic, and the speaker really moved me. Shelene Bryan. You. Must. Look. Her. Up. Her Organization is Skip1 and the idea is to “skip” something “extra” and donate that money to help feed a hungry child, build a kitchen, or just bless someone somewhere in the world. She wrote a book too, and I admit I cane him Friday night after cleanup and read the entire book before I went to sleep!!!! I’m very inspired, and being as she is local to me (Within 2 hours anyway), I may just jump in somewhere with them! I’m already planning to skip things. Look her up. She’s just amazing, and she’s just even more amazing in person!

Yesterday I worked on a cake for a birthday party today. Hello Kitty Mermaid:

Isn’t it gorgeous?! I can’t take credit for all the paper craft, just the desserts! Party was a huge success.

And finally, I wore this today:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Belt: secondhand
  3. Shoes: Kate Spade

And yesterday the character bags got a new baby sister:

She just needs a name! I need to rest up a bit from the past week and this weekend before I consider anything. I’m so tired she would end up with a really awful name!! Hope your weekend was fabulous!

Until next time,

Jules

A Recap

I fear I have been horrid at keeping this updated lately. Every year our church does a big women’s event, and the week before my schedule gets a little bananas. It’s great fun, and I enjoy my yearly volunteer time.

Thursday I wore this:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade Corley
  2. Belt: secondhand
  3. Shoes: Kate Spade

Friday, I wore this dress, which has been on repeat quite a bit this summer, as it’s a little big and so does not exasperate my still troublesome whiplash/neck/chest pains from our accident back in May:

  1.  Dress: Kate Spade (PS if you are a 8-10 and are looking for this dress, shoot me an email)
  2. Belt: secondhand (no label. Might be handmade)
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin strassed in Alexandrite AB

Today I wore this to church:

  1.  Dress: Kate Spade “Havana”
  2. Belt: Kate Spade (but a Goodwill find)
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin
  4. Necklace: Swarovski

This dress was actually a VERY recent purchase, as in my husband and I took a spin up to the local outlets (hey, the kids needed athletic clothes!), and this had finally gone on sale enough that I purchased it. However, it’s runs VERY big. I’m going to have to have it taken in. But it’s a fun and unique print!

Some photos I took Friday night:

I do not have any information about pricing, but you can always call your local store (or any outlet!), they ship for a mere $5. I have my eye on one of the dark blue bags, that color is so divine!!! And maybe a polka dot bag. We shall see what the Labor Day weekend sale ends up being.

Hope your weekend was grand! Until next time,

Jules

P.S.: a small reminder, please do not use my photos to sell your Kate Spade dresses. My blog content is owned by me and not for use elsewhere without my permission. That said, if you see a listing anywhere of me wearing a Kate Spade dress, it is NOT my listing and I am not associated with it. Sellers who use photos not their own, I always say be VERY wary of that when purchasing secondhand! Protect yourself, so many counterfeit items out there!!
