Fashion, Food, Desserts, being a 30-something mom is exciting!

Fourth of July!

Oh goodness, this summer is FLYING!! Happy Fourth of July!!!

Thought I would recap some recent adventures over the last week. I’ve been super heads down in wedding season and still trying to recover from the stupid accident. Sigh. Oh, and my kids came home from “camp grandparents” (well, I went to Palm Springs to pick them up…that was my downfall, or rather Visa’s downfall!)

Sunday I pulled out my new Corley dress and some very low heels…just for church:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade Corley, available here, $159 additional 25% off (or call the El Paseo or Fashion Island store and speak to one of their shop girls! They ship for a nominal fee)
  2. Belt: Unknown. Picked up secondhand
  3. Shoes: Kate Spade

Monday….errands, Dr, work

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Belt: Kate Spade
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin, strassed by me in Alexandrite AB
  4. Handbag: Kate Spade Quinn(oh how I wish they would bring this back!!)

I didn’t remember to take photos of the skirt I wore Wednesday:

It’s a Lilith I snagged on eBay for fairly inexpensive! (Another style I wish they would still make!!)

I threw this one after I got to my moms on Wednesday, and we did some shopping at the store on El Paseo…and I wore it again Thursday to go house hunting with my grandmother (note I took these in one of the places we looked at!). It was what 108 or something in Palm Springs? Too hot to care about what to wear!!

  1.  Dress: Banana Republic (last summer)
  2. Belt: Ted Baker (outlet find!!! $9, they were having an incredible sale)
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin, strassed in Alexandrite AB
  4. Handbag: Kate Spade Quinn

Eugene met a friend:

But alas, little friend did not come home with us. I’m so excited for the cat & mouse items though!!!!

Yesterday I started in this:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade Gayle (please don’t use my photos of these dresses without my permission! And no, I’m not selling my Gayle dresses ANYWHERE! People keep using my blog photos on their sale listings!)
  2. Belt: Kate Spade
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin
  4. Handbag: Kate Spade Quinn

And I put on my newest Madison Avenue piece last night to take a girlfriend of mine shopping (it was successful!!). Isn’t this skirt divine?! It’s serendipity when a Madison piece pops up in the outlet, one piece in my size…it’s meant to be, right?!

  1. Top: thrifted, no brand (was $1!)
  2. Skirt: Kate Spade Madison Ave (and yes, it has pockets!!)
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin
  4. Handbag: Kate Spade (outlet, holiday 2013 collection)

I also picked up other items in my travels this week. But as much is for gifts and a future giveaway, I won’t be sharing those! But right now, outlets are 60% off everything, with additional 20% off handbags! Don’t forget they do give a student/teacher discount if you have an ID (it’s additional 15%, but you can only use two discounts, so you wouldn’t get additional 15% off the 60/20 handbag deal), or if you have AAA, it’s 10%! So many stores offer these types of additional discounts, you just have to ask!!

Happy Fourth of July! Have a very safe and fun holiday. My favorite photo of the week…taken way up in Palm Springs:

 Until next time,

Jules

P.S. Please remember my photos are my personal property, and stealing them to use elsewhere is not polite. Please email me direct if you would like to discuss using my photos. Also, I do not use my blog photos to sell anything ANYWHERE. So if you see my photos on eBay/posh mark/etc, you are NOT buying from me!

    • Yay!!! Oh man, I need to pass my Madison Avenue luck on to you! 3 dresses and a skirt since April. And 2 dresses and the skirt all in a 20-day period. OOPS!!!! I also snagged another dress with the additional 30% in stores. Seriously I need an intervention at this point. However I got a sneak peek at outlet for the next couple of floor sets and thankfully there is only about 2 pieces. But the specialty collection with the Cat & Mouse pieces is going to send me over the edge!! Followed by the candy and cake stuff in the fall! Then holiday.

Oh man. I need an intervention!!!! 😂 Hope you two have a fabulous vacation in Arizona!!! I’m staying home probably in PJs all day. Trying to clean out the closet and get some stuff up on eBay to unload it. Sigh.

  2. I love them ALL!! 😁 Especially the Madison Ave skirt, it’s just beautiful! The outlet sales sound amazing!! I can’t even look on the KS U.S. site here,as it just redirects to the (insanely expensive) UK site! 😢 I think I *may* need a new handbag, so that’s the next thing I’m on the hunt for!! Hope you’re feeling a bit better xxx

  3. oh I love the little, sparkly “fireworks” on your belly for the 4th – and sexy cute in the ‘net’ dress – and I adore that stripy skirt

I am on a shopping hiatus at the moment which is sort of killing me with all these sales! As for the the photo stealing, it hits me as a strange phenomenon. I’ve had travel pics used by people and passed off as their own – only one individual has ever asked for my permission. I’m not seriously bothered by it as much as some people are, but then I’ve not had anyone use them for personal gain like yours have been

    • It’s not so much the use, is it’s technically illegal, and mainly, people contact me via email assuming I’m selling my clothes, and then want to buy for less than listed on eBay. I’ve had some interesting email exchanges because of it!!! Oh and it’s actually against eBay rules.

But mainly? It’s just kind of rude! Happens to a lot of bloggers, but it sure doesn’t make it right! I mean with technology, how hard is it to snap a photo of the dress you are selling? Not to mention most sellers don’t use anything but my photos. It’s just shady. Do they even have the dress? So many scammers out there, one never knows!!

I know, the sales are so amazing, it’s killing me!!!!!

  5. This is an insane round up and I totally love it! Your new Lilith skirt is adorbs as well as your Madison Ave skirt. I’m still thinking of that hot air balloon skirt but am pretty sure that I missed the boat on it. Darn.
Wanted to wish you a happy fourth of July yesterday but didn’t get a chance to touch my computer or anything. Hope it was amazing and free and independent and all those other things that makes ‘Merica wonderful. Glad you guys are our neighbours!

    • Thanks so much!!! We stayed home, we have an incredible view, so many fireworks from my balcony!!!

I’ve seen that skirt at Nordstrom rack and a few outlets still. It’s hanging around.
