Eugene

Yes, I have named the snail. Eugene(a HUGE thank you to Talk to My Shoes for the suggestion!!!). As in Eugene from Tangled. I do so love Disney movies! So here is Eugene out and about today…he likes tiaras, magic glowing hair, and bicycle baskets?!

And he assisted in a cake delivery:

Yes….that’s sugar lace and sugar burlap ribbon. I like to make custom molds for my cakes! My goal is to have it be 100% edible if possible!

My outfit matched:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade (killer deal at Last Call about a month ago. Thank you Xavier!!)
  2. Belt: JCrew
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin (I’ve had these for 3 years now?! Good shoes LAST!)
  4. Handbag: Eugene (Kate Spade)

Have a wonderful weekend!

Jules

Friday

Oh Friday, we meet again. I am still having a tough time of it, but I’m hoping things will slowly start to get better after this weekend!! (Trying some new treatment)

What I wore yesterday: (for like an hour…I spent most of the day in PJ’s!!)

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Shoes: Ralph Lauren

And today:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade Jillian
  2. Shoes: Christian Louboutin, strassed in Green Tourmaline stones by me

And let’s play “name the snail”! Any ideas of what to name him? Here he is meeting Rajah. I haven’t introduced him to Muppet yet:

Have a wonderful weekend! Until next time,

Jules

Wednesday

The week is half over! Okay, maybe not quite, since k don’t have a traditional M-F job, but for my husband, we celebrate Wednesday.

Yesterday I went to LA for business, and wore this (because everyone needs crystal shoes to roam the streets of La right?!)

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Dress: Kate Spade
  3. Belt: Kate Spade
  4. Necklace: Target
  5. Shoes: Christian Louboutin
  6. Handbag: Coach

Highlight of my day yesterday? (Okay, there were several, but this one wins) Finding this dress marked $2. Then reading receipt this morning and seeing it was only $1 because it was an additional 50% off! So of course I wore it today:

  1. Dress: Sophia Eugene
  2. Belt: secondhand
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin
  4. Necklace: Kate Spade

Never heard of the brand, but the dress is very well made…it’s merely missing pockets! But for $1, I am okay with it. I love the texture of the skirt!

Now I’m home resting the rest of the day. Whiplash is still affecting me, ugh.

Until next time,

Jules

Monday

Oh Monday, we meet again. I am still seriously gutted from the whole getting hit by a car thing. All I can say is: I have MAJOR respect for seatbelts. But when you are about to exit a vehicle….you kinda gotta take it off. Of course who expects to get rear ended in the drive test lane at the DMV?! Sigh. So taking it one day at a time. I’m not even booking new events/cakes/macaron orders right now!

Anyway, some outfits since last Wednesday:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade Kimi
  2. Belt: Kate Spade
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin

  1. Blouse: Anthropologie (thrifted for $1)
  2. Skirt: Vintage
  3. Belt: Target (little girls section)
  4. Sandals: Coach

  1. Shirt: Kohls
  2. Skirt: Kate Spade (old! I found it on Poshmark)
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin, strassed in Alexandrite AB stones (they flash from blue to purple!!!)

And yesterday I was supposed to go to a housewarming party, but barely hauled myself out of bed. However I did put on “tiki attire” and pretended I was down by the beach with her!

Dress is Kate Spade

And there you go. Lots of PJs in the afternoons while propped on my couch with lots of pillows. I’ve been on a Downton Abbey marathon….have watched the first 3 seasons, will start season 4 soon. And my husband has bought a new book series, which I have picked up the first 2500 page tome as a way to further pass the time, as I spend the summer healing. Or sitting still at least!!

Until next time,

Jules

Wednesday

Wednesday, oh Wednesday.

Wait a second, it’s been about a week and a half since I last blogged! Last week was brutal, between prepping for a wedding and dealing with severe exhaustion, AND the last week of school….yeah. I’m finally coming up for a bit of air this evening, but still dragging!

Some outfit recaps:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade (old)
  2. Belt: Kate Spade
  3. Shoes: Lilly Pulitzer for Target

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Belt: Kate Spade
  3. Shoes: Kate Spade (but I only posed in them for the photograph…I actually wore my blue crystal “Love” flats)

  1. Dress: Banana Republic (thrifted)
  2. Shoes: Nina, strassed by me

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Belt: glitter bow belt from Bealls

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Belt: Kate Spade
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin

I also wore a lot of PJ’s over the past week! (NOT PICTURED!) But the highlight was this GORGEOUS wedding my team and I pulled together on Saturday. Seriously the people who come work for me at events are brilliant….I couldn’t make this magic without them!! They do all the grunt work and it allows me to turn my brides vision into a gorgeous reality:

The weather was breathtaking and the party fabulous. I wish my couple a lifetime of happiness and amazing adventures!!!

I also did this little graduation cake:

And put together my own anniversary flowers:

And I bought (or rather my husband bought it!!!) my second Madison Avenue dress. HUGE shoutout to Trinice at the Desert Hills Outlet Kate Spade store for making this one a reality!! (At a screaming deal too!!)

The detail on the neckline! I’m in love. Now I just need to be able to wear heels for more than a photograph again and go somewhere fancy with the husband!!
And there you go. I’m going to crawl back into my couch and continue with the Downton Abbey marathon I started yesterday. I decided to start from the very first season!

Until next time,

Jules

Monday

Oh Monday, we meet again. But first, to recap our adventures yesterday.

We live up “the hill” so to speak. To go to LA or Disney, Orange County, etc, it’s a drive through a mountain pass. Normally, not a big deal. But some genius here in California decided “Let’s redo the Cajon Pass!”. Gee, thanks moron! It’s been a year and a half now of utter nightmares! But we decided to approach it with gusto and make the best of it. Going down was fine and dandy. However, coming back up?! Traffic was backed up for MILES. (We are talking probably 10-ish)  So we off-road it! Did we save time? I don’t know. But it sure was fun!!!! I didn’t get any photos (just some video), but the kids had a BLAST. It was also fun to see the route people used to take, insane!!

My outfit….we went to a fancy lunch/dinner to celebrate our 5th anniversary (this was with the kids…us as a family!)

And the funny photo our oldest took of us! (Also before I took all my jewelry off…that necklace is heavy!)

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Shoes: Christian Louboutin
  3. Handbag: Kate Spade
  4. Big necklace: Kate Spade

I didn’t take many photos….I think sometimes the memories are enough. The kids are already planning the next “anniversary”, so the whole “celebrate as a family” was a really good idea. Now to figure out when my husband and I can get away!!

Today I threw on an old favorite….the pineapples just make me happy, and I needed it today! I’m pretty sore….some is self inflicted, that whole “rest and be still” is very difficult for me!

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Shoes: Thrifted

Hope your weekend was fabulous! It’s going to be a busy week…not sure if I’ll keep up with blogging or not. Going to try!

Until next time,

Jules

Saturday Shenanigans

I had not intended to blog tonight, but alas, here it is, a little before midnight and while I am tired, it’s not quite time to sleep yet. This 3 and 4 hour nap thing in the afternoon is throwing my sleep schedule off! Luckily only 4 more days of the school year, and my 5:30am wake up call goes away for 7 weeks!!

This morning we did an outlet run…I wore this:

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade (currently on sale at the outlets….more on that below)
  2. Dress: Kate Spade (old…2010/2011-ish!)
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin Love flats, strassed in Montana and clear crystal by me.

And I went BACK out this evening to return some movies and ended up wearing something different:

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade Tula (2014 outlet style)
  2. Dress: Kate Spade Olivia (late 2013)
  3. Belt: Kate Spade
  4. Shoes: Christian Louboutin

So, some outlets are running 40/20 on their stock. But SOME are running 50% off and then “buy more, save more”! (I don’t remember all the levels…just that is you spent $350 or more it was an additional 25% off!!) Which is kind of an amazing promotion!! I didn’t buy anything today, but I did try these on:

I LOVE the blue one. It’s such a gorgeous color and it’s a fun little dress with a very low back. However it runs HUGE!!!! This one slipped right down without me even unzipping it. So, it stayed there. I love the shape and the color. The second one is a remake of last year, from the Havana collection. I’m on the fence about it….perhaps if it hits major sale and it’s in my size somewhere, I’ll pick it up because my husband liked it. We shall see.

I did find something else, however there is no reveal yet. Still working out the details, but I am SO EXCITED about it.

And lastly scored a second large mixer…my costco marked them down to $220. (Red only):

I had wanted a second silver one…but for that price? Red will do just dandy!!! It’s a nice upgrade from my old ones I bought 5 years ago. More power, bigger bowl, and it’s so much quieter!!! Already gave it a first whirl, starting on cake pops for a wedding next weekend. It’s going to be an insane week!

Excited for tomorrow, we told the kids and they had so much fun picking out dress clothes. I don’t know why we never considered celebrating with all 6 of us before! I feel a little mommy guilt on THAT one. Now to figure out what I’m going to wear. This whole flats-only things is really cramping my church and fancy meal style! But I have to stick to it, I slipped on heels the other night and walked maybe 100 feet total, and it was a BAD idea. Sigh. Talk about a first world problem!

Until next time,

Jules
