A Recap of Sorts

I have not been blogging. I have not been good at taking outfit photos. Apparently I decided to go on “spring break” this week. In fact, I suspect it may happen NEXT week as well!! Kids get two weeks off…and while they were all gone most of last week, I found myself with even less time! Go figure.

Some outfits I did remember to take a photo of:

Starting with what I wore tonight, to attend an awards ceremony for my oldest

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Handbag: Kate Spade
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin

Earlier today I ran around in this:

  1. Cardigan: Target (way old)
  2. Top: Anthropologie, but thrifted
  3. Skirt: friend gave it to me
  4. Belt: Target
  5. Shoes: Kate Spade

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Shoes: Nina

Thursday I ran down to Palm Springs, and when I arrived I realized I was not dressed for 96 degree weather!!

  1. Dress: Kate Spade
  2. Necklace: Kate Spade
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin

And this adorable purse I found last weekend at Target:

Now looks like this:

I MIGHT have bought a few more and started an assembly line….

So if you are dying for a custom strassed lemon purse for less than Kate Spade? Shoot me an email! I have a few that have not been spoken for.

And that’s all for now.

Until next time,

Weekend in Review + Big Announcement

This past weekend was unique, in that we had only our eldest child with us. Who needs LOTS of hours behind the wheel. So he was the driver and my husband and I inflicted that unique torture only parents can…SHOPPING TORTURE! I remember it as a kid! I think it’s a rite of passage!!

Saturday I wore this:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade (super old!)
  2. Belt: eBay
  3. Shoes: Nina, painted and Strassed by me
  4. Handbag: Kate Spade

We bought lots, mainly sweaters and polo shirts at the Gap for $1.79 for my husband:

And ties for $1.97 at Banana Republic:

 Sunday I wore this:

  1. Cardigan: Boden
  2. Dress: Kate Spade (outlet exclusive here in the US, available now)
  3. Belt: Kate Spade
  4. Shoes: Kate Spade

I snagged my daughter this at Target for a mere $10 (my husband thought it was Kate Spade!)

And today I wore this:

  1. Cardigan: Boden (same as yesterday)
  2. Dress: Kate Spade
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin
  4. Handbag: Kate Spade

I also bought wine based on my purse:

Hey, the oldest child went to camp this morning, so I planned a romantic Italian-themed night for dinner! Picnic style! I doubt we will open this bottle, but it seemed like a really fun idea at Costco. Along with everything else I bought that I didn’t need. Don’t. Go. To. Costco. Hungry.

Oh and the crowing moment of my day? I finally got my act together and picked giveaway winners!!! Ta-da!

In order, 1st, 2nd and 3rd: (top to bottom)

BevCruz from Instagram, JeanJu from a blog comment, and ladrini from Instagram. I’m so high tech, this is how it’s done…names written on paper pulled from a Sugarfina candy cube:

Ladies please email me with your address so I can send your prizes!!

Dessange California Blonde Review

This month I received a “VoxBox” from Influenster (a site that sends you free stuff to try and review…this was actually my first one), full of Dessange hair care products. Now being a gal who colors her hair almost as much as she changes handbags, I am ALWAYS looking for the perfect shampoo/conditioner. Anything with purple is even better (hello brassy hair!).

Let’s start with the shampoo & conditioner. I like it, it has a nice scent, did not leave my hair greasy or limp, but I didn’t see a change in my hair color or any “illuminating” from it. However, like I said, the scent is nice (and let’s face it…..I buy shampoo for the smell most of the time, tell me gals you have done this very same thing before!!), and I would buy it again. It has a nice light floral scent, and I was able to go 3 days between washes, and my hair still smelled decent! (HUGE awesomeness right there) So, a decent shampoo, decent price range, and available at Target. My local stores have a great display of the entire range! I feel for the price point, it’s a good product.

* I do wish it was sulfate-free, as I still have yet to find a sulfate-free shampoo that doesn’t RUIN my hair. Alas, chemicals here I come!!

But my FAVORITE product out of the 3 I was sent is this stuff:

It’s like purple shampoo on steroids. Seriously, if you have dyed blonde hair that tends to go brassy, this is BRILLIANT. As you can see I have been making MUCH use out of this tube, and I will be buying it again when this one is gone! I have noticed that my highlights have not been as brassy, and it leaves my hair very bouncy. I’m in love with it.

So, thank you Influenster and Dessange for these wonderful products! While I may not purchase the shampoo/conditioner (let’s face it, I’m a shampoo cheater!), the CC Cream has become a “‘must have”!

Until next time,

*I was sent the mentioned products free of charge in exchange for my unbiased review. All opinions are my own.

Officially Spring!

For weeks now it has felt like spring, but today it became official!! To “celebrate”, I threw on a simple, yet one of my favorite “sundresses”:

  1. Dress: Kate Spade (outlet, Spring 2014)
  2. Belt: Target (little girls section, 3 for $9.99!)
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin (my favorite style of flats)
  4. Handbag: Kate Spade (outlet, Holiday 2013)

I have flats in this style in more colors and leather types than I care to admit, not to mention the pairs I have strassed that are this style! But seriously, they are super comfortable, they don’t cut off circulation to my big toe, and I adore the cut of the shoe! I fully admit every pair I own was either purchased secondhand, or came to me via a pre-owned type situation. I can’t bring myself to spend $400-$500 on a pair of flats….especially when one can find them for under $100! Just have to be a little patient and willing to wait. I have collected my flats over several years, and am always on the hunt for a new color or material!

I know I still have not announced my giveaway winners, and for that I do apologize. It is on my agenda for tomorrow. We were given a HUGE piece of furniture, and I’ve spent a lot of my free “at home” time (limited as it has been, between field trip, picking up my car from being serviced, and everything else!) re-arranging existing furniture and deciding where the new piece will go. And adding some cute framed prints:

Along with my Nana’s antique rocking chair! I’ve been toying with the idea of re-doing  the rocking chair, but the fabric matches the bench on the piano, which is in the same room, so I would have to do both. I will have to see when I’m done with this room and re-evaluate my potential plans. (Yes, I have white leather couches….YIKES!!!) Of course the carpet also needs to GO (and we need to re-do our entire downstairs tile flooring), but moving furniture is just easier than home renovations!! Sigh. I have a feeling that 2016 will be the year of “my house is torn up and in shambles”!! YIKES!

Until next time,

Jillian Madness

Today I wore another Jillian dress….this an older one, but a recent acquisition (thank you eBay. Or maybe I shouldn’t thank evil bay!!), and one I was soooooo thrilled to find!!

  1. Cardigan: Kate Spade
  2. Dress: Kate Spade
  3. Shoes: Christian Louboutin, strassed in Green Tourmaline
  4. Handbag: Kate Spade

I believe this Jillian was at least 3 years ago, it’s the thick beautiful cotton with the heavy satin lining. The seams are finished a little neater, and the quality of the dress is just better than more recent pieces. I am in love! I also love the endless options it presents!!! So many color combinations!

Until next time,

Today was (as Wednesday always tends to be) long. But I pulled out a dress I haven’t worn yet in a bright pink and white stripe and made the most of it!

  1. Dress: Kate Spade Jillian (old, I snagged it on Ebay a while back)
  2. Shoes: Jimmy Choo
  3. Handbag: Kate Spade Rachelle

Did you order anything in the Surprise Sale?? Some adorable things! (Including some amazing dresses at fantastic prices!!)

Until next time,

As today was the gates St Patrick’s day, green was a must (although I’m not technically Irish, unless you count “by marriage”?!), and I also attended a field trip with my daughter who essentially picked this outfit out!

  1. Cardigan: Ross
  2. Dress: Kate Spade Lyric (Capri 2014 collection, also available at the outlets for Spring 2015!)
  3. Necklace: Target
  4. Shoes: Christian Louboutin, strassed in Green Tourmaline
  5. Handbag: Kate Spade
  6. Coin Purse: Kate Spade

I also picked this up (so glad I waited!!) at Bloomingdales….and they have a HUGE sale starting on the 25th!! (Pre-orders right now)

And of course, there is a Surprise Sale going on over at Kate Spade. I won’t spoil the surprise, but my husband picked out a couple of things (although it’s quite horrible when you have most of it already, right?!), AND the Charleen dresses I hunted down a couple of weeks ago are on there!!! Some great pieces, and it’s a “Wedding Belles” edition, so if you are getting married?! Hello great gifts for your girls!! (Or a blue sparkly sequin dress for yourself!) Hurry, ends on the 19th, and things are already selling out! Surprise Sale!!

Until next time,
