Fashion, Food, Desserts, being a 30-something mom is exciting!

So today was a TOTAL slump day for me. Let’s just say my head is spinning, and we are prepping for tax season at the office. Combine that with a migraine I’ve had off/on since before Christmas (this happens from time to time), with whiplash (thank you oldest child!!), and well, yeah. This is the ONLY photos I took of my outfit:

Blouse: Thrifted (no tag, love the colour!) it was maybe $3?
Cardigan: Kate Spade, picked up at It’s a Wrap in Hollywood (I admit to stalking it for almost 6 months, waiting for the price to drop!!)
Pants: Banana Republic
Necklace: Kate Spade
Shoes: Christian Louboutin

And today my final purchase of 2014 arrived, well, my husband’s final purchase. He claims this is my anniversary present, but we shall see about THAT. So, meet Rajah:

Isn’t he adorable?! Out of all the Kate Spade clutches and coin purses I picked up last year, he is by FAR the best. For now he will sit on my dresser, not sure when he will go out for his first public debut. I’m just super excited to have him, as sometimes I have waited TOO long for a whimsical piece like this (as I did get him for less than half of retail) to go on sale and end up not getting it (hello Shanghai Take Out bag! I’m looking at you here!)

So now begins the most difficult part of #noshopjanuary as all my end of December purchases have arrived (I take that back, I have one more coming tomorrow, except it’s Christmas gifts for 2015. So the box will go straight in the garage), and that’s it for fun mail! That’s what I love most about shopping, the package waiting on my doorstep when I arrive home.

Yes, I am aware I have a problem. I relate with Becky Bloomwood of Shopaholic fame far too much!

Happy Wednesday!!

Until next time,

  2. Rajah?!?!?! You mean, Agamemnon! Whatever its name (but you know what I vote) it is an awesome piece, I’m excited to see how you style it. I failed already at this whole no shop January but think it is time to start again at it. This time, I will last more than a couple hours. We are in this together (but now I wish it was February first!)

    • LOL!! You crack me up!!! Isnt Agamemnon from Lord of the Rings?! (Which would be slightly appropriate, as i may or may not have children with names from the books) If it helps any, redbox movie rentals, starbucks, and del taco DO NOT COUNT!!!! LOL!!!!!

Good luck my dear! Keep me posted!!!

      • Agamemnon is the old dude that let things go crazy and helped start the Trojan war. I think he was a bit of a jerk but he has a cool name so he was probably at least a tiny bit entitled to acting that way. However, if you want a sweet Lord of the Rings name, I fully support Treebeard and Boromir. Rajah is cute though, well played!
I was doing really well for four hours yesterday then I made the mistake of going on the Aritzia website and found my favourite skirt, in pink, on sale. I added it to the cart just for fun. And then stuff got crazy out of control. Needless to say, noshopJanuary had to start again today.
And then this evening I ended up calling the folks at Carolina Herrera in Arizona looking for a pair of shoes I saw there. I wanted to write about them but needed the model number and collection info. Anyway, I had to hang up on the poor guy when he told me they had my size and they were on sale. I hate practicing self control.
Glad Starbucks doesn’t count. Not sure what del taco is but I assume I can replace that with Tim Hortons and it’d be about the same deal…

      • LOL!!!!

Del Taco is like a mexican fast food joint, im surprised you havent been to one in Az?!

OMG TIM HORTONS!!!! LOVE THAT PLACE. Like seriously. Why oh why are they not in California. Or the US. I have always pondered that question as i begrudginly hand over my starbucks card. Always the highlight of Canada trips, let me tell you!!

Yay for not buying the shoes! Oh and GC’s and OTHER PEOPLE buying stuff is a grey area. I admit i had a HUGE ebay credit, and i had to use it (or it expired). In fact, i lost about .56 because i didnt want to go over it. That took serious self control!!

But im finding each day gets easier. Today i had time to pop into some fun shops and i just didnt do it. Its probably sheer exhaustion, but I am gonna go with “some self control”. LOL!!!!

Good luck tomorrow my dear! Are you back in Canada? So cold!!! I would shop too.
