Fashion, Food, Desserts, being a 30-something mom is exciting!

Blue Flowers

Of course I whipped out my new dress for church this morning:

Cardigan: JCrew (I know, I am mildly obsessed with this one!! It’s just the perfect length. I should hit up the kids JCrew store to fine a few more!!)
Dress: Kate Spade (on sale here )
Shoes: Christian Louboutin “Love” flats strassed by me in clear crystal & Montana crystal)
Necklace: Kate Spade

I love the fabric on this dress, it’s a nice silk/cotton blend, with pockets! I am slightly disappointed that the length difference between my size (I bought this in a 00) and the size 4 (on the model) is 2″! I was expecting this to be 39″ and it’s only 37″. If I was any taller, it would probably be headed back. (For reference I am 5’5) But the fabric lovely, as I don’t really love the new poly/silk blend KS has been using this past year! I wish they would go back to the heavy cotton/silk blends. My favorite!!

However it was cold today, and so this was my reality:

And a copy that a friend of mine photoshopped: (ever so slight, but I love it!!!)

Coat & Scarf are both Kate Spade. I have no idea who makes my glasses, but I DID add those tiny crystals in the corners! And yes, I’m still in agony, my neck is better, but I’ve been having dizzy spells all day. Kids go back to school on the 12th, and it’s off to the chiropractor for me!!!

Hope your weekend was grand! I was lucky to be able to stay home and rest, and the kids & husband handled meals & cleaning. (Kind of. We did get Christmas down last night, only to find our vacuum cleaner died. Praying the Kirby man can fix it!!! So “clean” is a relative term.)

Until next time,

Hello Jules. I seem to always visit your blog just to ask for the fit of your kate spade dresses. But good thing is your recommendation usually works out well for me when I buy the dress (especially for the ones that don’t have reviews online). So here it goes: how does this dress fit compared to the pink roset, black hope or white and black adette dress? I have my eyes on it but I am scared cos I tried on the new charlene dress in my regular size and it was wayyyyy too tight. I found this very odd considering that I have the emma dress in two colors in the same size and they fit just fine. I mention the emma dress because the style is pretty similar to that of the charlene dress. Any pointers you can give regarding this floral one will be great.
    Thank you.

    • Really? The Charlene in my normal size (00) was PERFECT! The only thing about this dress that is disappointing is the 4 is 40″ long, but my size, 00, is only 37″ long! The 0 is 37.5″! I hate that Kate Spade shortens with sizing down. But if I went up to a 2, it would be ridiculously baggy.

As long as a dress is a fit n flare, a 0 or 00 is always perfect for me. And I usually will only get a 0 because I can’t find a 00, or I want the extra bit of length, and then have it taken in around the waist/bust area.

      Hope that helps! 🙂

      ❤ Jules
