Fashion, Food, Desserts, being a 30-something mom is exciting!

It’s Friday!

Happy Friday! And a 3-day weekend to boot! Even better? I am spending Tuesday at my favorite place vs doing grown up “work” stuff. Kind of excited about that.

What I wore yesterday:

Cardigan: Kate Spade (under $30, outlet find!)
Dress: Banana Republic (under $30, sale find)
Belt: Kate Spade, off eBay
Shoes: Manolo Blahnik’s Strassed in Crystal AB

And today, a dress that I agonized over for months, that I now LOVE!

Dress: Kate Spade Hattie Dress
Shoes: Kate Spade, off eBay

And the shoes I started the day in, but later changed as my toe was bugging me:

A pair of glittery Kate Spade heels (I also have in gold) that I picked up at Off Fifth earlier this year. I’ve gotten more wear AND compliments on these shoes! So much fun to wear.

Hope you have a great weekend! I’m running tomorrow, but I get to hit the outlet in Desert Hills, kinda super super excited about that. For now, my fingers are sealed! I hope to get to the regular store in Palm Spring, depending on the schedule, I would love to see some of the new stuff in person! Is anyone else dying over the new small clutch bags? All the fun shapes!!!

Until next time,

Mid-Week Doldrums

I have been running so many directions the past few days, blogging just wasn’t on the radar! That said, some outfit recaps!

Saturday I went to Disneyland, I wore my Kate Spade Corley dress. I didn’t get a full shot, but I got this one:

Dress: Kate Spade Corley Dress
Shoes: Light Siam Strassed Jimmy Choo flats
Handbag: Kate Spade

Sunday, I wore this to church:

Dress: Kate Spade Jillian (holiday 2012)
Shoes: Kate Spade (off eBay)
Necklace & Bracelet: both Ben-Amun

Monday. This dress I found on eBay a couple of weeks ago for a super steal. It WAS ironed, but linen in dry weather lasts about 15 seconds before it wrinkles!

Dress: Kate Spade
Shoes: Christian Louboutin

Blouse: Banana Republic, Thrifted last summer in Northern California
Skirt: Kate Spade, off eBay
Shoes: Christian Louboutin

And finally today, embracing some polka dots! (I love this dress! I can only wear it when it isn’t windy)

Cardigan: Kohls (on sale!)
Dress: Hobbs, off eBay
Belt: thrifted
Shoes: Light Siam Strassed Jimmy Choo flats

Yesterday I made pie. Lots of pie. Apple pie, raspberry pie, AND chicken pot pie!

Mmmm. I am torn between the chicken pie and the apple pie. Savory vs Sweet. Luckily there was enough for leftovers tonight! (Yay!!)

Hope your week is going grand!

Until next time,

It’s Friday!

Yay for Friday! I’m excited to put this week to bed and embrace the weekend.

Today’s outfit (I get SO many comments on this simple little dress!)

Dress: David’s Bridal (purchased at Goodwill)
Shoes: Kate Spade (from Saks)
Brooch: Vintage, off eBay

Hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Until next time,

Another day this week has ended, and even though I wore two outfits, they were BOTH blue tones! Whoops!

My first outfit today:

Cardigan: Neiman Marcus Cashmere (secondhand, from it’s a wrap)
Dress: Carmen Marc Valvo
Shoes: goodwill, $3

My second outfit:

Top: Forever 21, from 5 years ago
Skirt: thrifted
Shoes: Christian Louboutin

Oh my goodness, I can hardly believe the 3rd week of school is coming to a close! I’m excited for this weekend, I’m driving for ROTC on Saturday and will be spending the day in my favorite place with some friends of mine. Watch my Instagram for some fun photos!

Until next time,

Wednesday Blues

Now, while my title may have “blues” in it, that does not translate to my current mental state! Merely the fact that I am wearing blue AGAIN! What can I say, I really enjoy wearing blue, it’s just a good color. Considering my two favorite rooms in my house are painted blue, I shouldn’t be surprised! (My bedroom & my kitchen)

Today’s ensemble:

Top: Halogen, purchased at It’s a Wrap. The tag said it was from the Desperate Housewives set. Hmm.
Skirt: Banana Republic, off eBay about 3 years ago
Belt: Anthropologie
Shoes: Christian Louboutin

I didn’t put lots of jewelery on today as I went for a massage (can I just say it was heavenly?! Must go more often.), and I don’t relish taking it off and putting it back on. I also went to the my first senior cadet meeting for the ROTC kids, super excited! Last year I helped the seniors plan/decorate/execute their “Dining In”, a formal cadet-only meal. This year I got pulled in even sooner, and I am SO excited! The seniors this year have such a fantastic theme planned, and it really is a privilege to be “in” on it. (The theme is always a surprise for the lower classmen) My sophomore is already tossing ideas around with his classmates! I really enjoy working with this group of kids, hopefully I inspire someone in a good way along this journey! I told the Colonel he has me for 10 years (well, 9 now), and then I’m out. We shall see!

Hope the middle of your week is grand. We are about to have an epic desert storm:

To say I am excited is an understatement. I just adore a good rainstorm. It’s magical!

Until next time,

Tuesday Bluesday

I actually don’t feel blue this morning, perhaps it’s the 9 hours of sleep I managed last night, which is a rarity in my world! I’ve been having awful migraines the past week or so, so sleep has been elusive, to say the least.

Off to the office this morning:

Cardigan: Kate Spade (off eBay, took quite a bit of time to track this one down!)
Blouse: J Crew, Thrifted
Skirt: Escada, Thrifted (under $5, about 5 years ago!)
Belt: Thrifted
Shoes: Coach (old, like 5-6 years old)
Handbag: Kate Spade
Necklace: Kohls, $3 (isn’t it cute?!)

Yesterday I spent the day editing and going through photos, talk about tedious!! But it was made a little easier by the arrival of a Purple Peridot order I made last week & a surprise postcard from one of my Australian Instagram friends!

Until next time,

Monday Monday

It’s Monday. Why are Mondays always so hard? Is it a mental thing ingrained in us? Oh the things we ponder!

Saturday I wore this:

Dress: Kate Spade Gayle (outlet dress)
Belt: Kate Spade
Shoes: Christian Louboutin Simples
Handbag: Kate Spade (my recent surprise sale splurge!)

Today I have the luxury of staying home all day! I’m working on some computer stuff, transferring files off my old laptop so my youngest can use it for homework. I still pulled myself together, even though I am just doing the kid dropoff/pickups today!

Top: Target T-Shirt (sale find, $3)
Skirt: Ann Taylor, Thrifted under $5
Shoes: Christian Louboutin Simples

Yes, I have an affinity for Christian Louboutin Simple pumps. They are just SO comfortable, for me that is. Anyway, hope y’all have a great Monday!

Until next time,
