Fashion, Food, Desserts, being a 30-something mom is exciting!

Hello Kitty!

Well, not clothing or accessories that is. But these tres adorable French Macarons I made for a friend of mine at her request:

Soooo adorable! I also made plain ones of course:

It had become my signature of sorts to put a jam or curd center in my macarons. It makes for mixing flavours in a very unique way! I imagine the patisseries in France do this, as I highly doubt I’m the first to think up such a lovely phenomenon.

I wore this today:

Dress: Kate Spade Hope (purchased the same day as my Adette dress. But I adore them both!)
Shoes: Christian Louboutin (isn’t the colour to die for?! I love it!)
Handbag: Kate Spade

Not that I actually went anywhere exciting today, mainly spent it baking and catching up some administrative stuff here at home. Oh-so-fun!

Hope the week is flying for you too, I can’t believe this week is half over, and school is only 6 more days! Eeks!!

Until next time,

  1. I need the hope dress still!! So what’s in your macaroons that gives them the pearly shine?

    • I dusted them with a luster dust after baking. I don’t always do it, just depends on MY mood, and what/who I’m baking them for. This was a special order, and the shimmer just added that extra “kick” they needed! I used to leave them plain for eating at the house, but I’m trying to NOT eat them, so if they are shimmery and pretty, the temptation is less. Probably because I know how much extra work it took!!

I’m a nerd, I know. I own it. And YES, you need the Hope dress!!! Although it’s probably too heavy for summer in Texas. I was okay until I left to pick kids up, and I went “OMG, it’s HOT OUT! I’m overdressed!!” The fabric is really a nice heavier weight. (And as I live in a wind tunnel, it’s perfect!!)

Sigh. Oh the perils of adoring Kate Spade dresses. Although I’m not terribly excited about this months collection, nor last months. Much to the relief of my husband!!!!
