Fashion, Food, Desserts, being a 30-something mom is exciting!

Such a Sad Sad Day

This week has been brutal, so crazy. But I had made it to Thursday, and was so excited.

Until this afternoon. When I went to change and the zipper on my blush pink Emma dress broke! What?! How does a zipper on a Kate Spade dress break?! This is NOT OKAY!!! See photos:

Upon closer inspection, it appears that someone had messed with this zipper before. (I purchased it from an outlet location) I was so SO livid. While I realize I picked it up at about 75% off retail, it’s still a $400 dress, which means the zipper should not break!! Anyway, I have contacted Kate Spade and am seeing if I can get a whole new zipper and have a seamstress replace it. Sigh.

But before that, my outfit:

Yesterday I went to Disneyland with my daughter for a field trip & my mom tagged along. I totally repeated my dress, because pockets are essential at Disneyland!! I didn’t get a full shot, but here’s a few:

Don’t even ask what is going on with my hands! So funny!!

Cardigan: INC, from it’s a wrap (off the Desperate Housewives set)
Dress: Kate Spade Gayle dress (outlet only style)
Shoes: Multi-Strass Manolo Blahniks

And lastly, Tuesday:

So much else going on, but I will save it for another day. Yesterday was long and crowded and the scandal of my zipper breaking today has done me in. I’m going to tuck myself into bed and hope the zipper gods find me soon.

Until next time,

Jules

  1. I hope they get you a zipper and you can get it fixed because that outfit is perfection! I’m jealous every time I see it!!!

    • Right?! I can totally replace the zipper, but I just NEED one. Since, putting in a non-rose gold exposed zipper would ruin the dress!!! Sigh. Still haven’t heard back. I imagine I will be harassing customer service a lot over the next couple of weeks!!!!

Hi! Kate Spade outlet in Citadel has 50% off everything in store plus an additional 20% off on all handbags. It ends Tuesday May 27th πŸ™‚

  3. I hope the customer service people help you out but if not , you cn always try to fix that one. I dont think you will be able to fing a zipper like that at all… there are some companies that have a similar rose gold metal zipper but you would have to buy in bulk… however, that one could still be fixed if you were willing to make the opening shorter- not even removing it from the dress but try to insert the slider onto the chain again and do not open it all the way down… then one would have to sew the lower part where the missing “tooth” is, and attach (or make) a new bottom stop. you want it discrete since it is an exposed zipper but I don’t think all is lost… you could even try to do it yourself… If you do find another zipper you can always exchange the decorative part of the slider to keep the little bow. Good luck! Di

    • Thanks girl! I think we have found a solution, just have to get through this crazy holiday weekend! It does need a whole new zipper pull, so really probably a straight up zipper replacement! (Which can be done)

I will get it fixed, somehow!! I suppose since I have a million other dresses I won’t miss it. Lol!!! πŸ™‚
