It’s Tuesday?!

Wait, what?! It’s Tuesday already?! Eeks!! This week is flying by!!

What I wore yesterday:

Cardigan: Kate Spade
Blouse: Nanette Lepore
Skirt: See by Chloe
Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Handbag: Kate Spade
Necklace: Target

And today:

Cardigan: Kate Spade
Dress: Calvin Klein
Belt: Kate Spade
Shoes: Jimmy Choo

I still don’t have my car back, so I am enjoying the lovely loaner still. Perhaps that’s making the week fly by, knowing my carriage has to go back soon!! Oh and the 8 dozen macarons. Just a typical week I suppose!

Hope your week is off to a roaring start!!

Until next time,

Weekend Recap

Where to begin?! Let us start with Friday, where I started the day in this:

Blouse & Necklace: Target
Skirt: Thrifted
Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Handbag: Kate Spade

But hated it. I was in a “mood” I suppose. So after taking the kids to school and putting the finishing touches on this special cake:

I decided to commit the ultimate fashion faux pas and throw on the same dress I wore the day before! (The horror!!) I styled it a touch differently though:

Cardigan: Target (girls’ section)
Dress: Kate Spade
Belt: It’s a Wrap (movie clothing store in Hollywood. It’s a MUST see!)
Shoes: Jimmy Choo
Necklace: Kate Spade
Bracelet: vintage, garage sale find

To make a long weekend short, we spent a TON of time driving cars around this weekend. We have loaner cars until the repairs on my SUV and my husbands commuter car are done. Can I just say, I’m in love? I want to keep this: (it’s a 2013 Lexus GS350. I must say the controls are wicked awesome!!)

But alas, she must go back. I’ll have to snap more photos of it before I return the car. It sure is fun to drive! Soooo quiet.

Oh, clothing, right. What I wore to take cars in + tackle downtown Los Angeles with all 4 kids (specifically Santee Alley):

Cardigan: Ross
Blouse: Banana Republic Outlet
Skirt: Vintage
Belt: thrift
Shoes: Christian Louboutin Simple
Necklace: Kate Spade

And today I was back down in LA, to drive high school kids to an event (which I dropped them off at), and heading into downtown for brunch with some girlfriends (yay!) at Bottega Louie (yum!). I dressed for the occasion of course:

Cardigan/Jacket: Target
Dress: Kate Spade Emma
Belt: Kate Spade
Shoes: Christian Louboutin, Strassed by me
Necklace: Burlington

And of course a photo of the box of macarons I bought (because I buy them for the box)!

A fun, crazy weekend. I also made a stop in at the Citadel Kate Spade outlet. Nothing terribly exciting.

Hope you had a great weekend!

Until next time,

Today was full of stripes!!! Seems to be a thing with me lately come to think of it.

My outfit today:

Cardigan: Ann Taylor
Dress: Kate Spade (outlet dress)
Belt: Kate Spade (eBay, was NWT)
Shoes: Kate Spade
Necklace: Burlington Coat Factory

This dress! I had been shown it a few months ago at my favorite outlet, but passed because it does not have pockets (the horror!). But my husband and I saw it this past Sunday, and I actually tried it on. Well, the rest is history. Probably helped that it was on uber-sale (right at $100), so it came home with us. And the belt was an awesome eBay find a while back (under $20).

And that folks is how I broke my most recent “I’m done buying dresses!!” “Ban”. Whoops! However, I see this dress being a workhorse in my wardrobe, it’s a nice light cotton, fits well, and can be worn so many ways. My only complaint is lack of pockets, but I have so many other dresses with them, I shall survive. I love the feel of it, AND it passed the “windy day” test, which is always important where I live!

Hope your Thursday was grand! I got to make a super fun cake tonight, but cannot reveal it until after it is delivered tomorrow morning. It’s very cute.

Until next time,

Mid-Week Recap

It’s been quite a week! My husband and I got him yesterday from our little getaway for his birthday, and it’s been a whirlwind ever since! Something about 4 kids whom we hadn’t seen since last week.

Anyway, some recaps from out attire the past few days. Monday we spent the day at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk (more…)

Happy Easter!

Hope y’all had a wonderful Easter Sunday! My husband and I spent half the day traveling, from where the wedding we came north for to Santa Cruz, where I found the most darling hotel (even better in person!!), and plan to celebrate his birthday and just a “do nothing” getaway. Of course we have grand plans for tomorrow! (Let’s see how many pan out!!!)

First though, some photos from the wedding, all my desserts made it!!

Such a gorgeous afternoon!! The bride is super crafty, she made all those orbs, designed the cheese table, and pretty much did EVERYTHING but the desserts and food. On her property. Ah-mazing! And my treats were quite the hit. (Of course!!) The bridal cake, I used her dress for the inspiration, it came out so beautiful!

Of course I neglected to snap photos of my outfit, but here’s one with my shoes:

I wore my sequin Kate Spade Emma dress and my shoes were Kate Spade. I didn’t really accessorize beyond that, wasn’t needed!

Today I busted out a bright shiny happy dress:

Dress: Kate Spade
Shoes: Kate Spade
Necklace: Burlington Coat Factory

On our drive we stopped at the Livermore outlets. I did pick up a couple of things that will be revealed at a later date. The outlet there had several dresses that are full price online and in the stores in Southern California! Crazy!!!

Anyway, I hope y’all had a wonderful Easter Sunday!

I leave you with this:

Super excited to celebrate my husbands birthday tomorrow!! Boardwalk here we come!

Until next time?

Good Friday

Wow, it doesn’t feel like Easter weekend! I imagine it is because my husband and I packed up and are headed to Northern California for a wedding. Yes, we left the kids behind! I feel guilty as a mom, but my parents have them, and I know my kids are most likely (okay, totally likely!!) to be more excited about grandma & grandpa than mom & dad!!

That said, I’m glad we didn’t drag them, I did all the desserts for this wedding and the car is precariously packed, in hopes the French Macarons all survive the 6+ hour trip!!

My travel ensemble:

Cardigan: Target
Dress: Calvin Klein
Belt: Thrift
Shoes: Kate Spade

And this is why I haven’t been posting this week, I have become a cookie. Or at least it feels like it!!! French Macarons, iced sugar cookies, sugar cookies, cake balls, a small cake & some other cookies. Some teaser photos:

I’m excited to set it all up tomorrow and share photos! I also am finally going to wear the sequin Kate Spade Emma dress, eeks!!! I probably won’t post again until Sunday, I have terrible cell service where we will be. But on Sunday my husband and I are headed to Santa Cruz to celebrate his birthday, and just have some time away with nowhere to be!! I found an adorable boutique hotel and we will hit the boardwalk….it’ll be a first for both of us! I’ll take it, it’s not always easy to find things new to “us”, one of the hazards of a second marriage! But I wouldn’t change a thing in my life, the good OR the bad.

Because life is that, an experience!!

Have a wonderful Easter weekend, and those out on the road, travel safe! And travel colorfully!

Until next time,

Life Lately

Life lately. Now that is a loaded statement! Why? Well, those who follow my Instagram have seen the madness. And it’s exactly that, madness!!

Well, not that bad, but I feel like I AM a cookie at this point. I have a huge order for a wedding this weekend (which I am super excited about, it’s a cousin, so we get to attend, and it’s a snazzy dressy event. Super excited for my outfit!!), and it’s been a hectic past two days!!

Sugar Cookies:

No bake chocolate-peanut butter drops (these are TO DIE FOR!! Super easy too):

Chocolate chip cookie dough (to be baked Saturday before the wedding. The bride has a kitchen I envy!!)

Sugar cookie bow ties:

Of course French Macarons, in Lemon, Raspberry-Pomegranate, Chocolate, Coffee, and for Easter orders: almond & raspberry-almond:

And then there’s the cake balls, white chocolate, chocolate, red velvet, and Kaulua:

I can’t wait to get pictures of it all set up. I know it will be amazing! I won’t share the small cutting cake, I want it to be a surprise to the bride!

I failed to snap an outfit shot yesterday, but here’s what I wore today (with an apron of course!):

Cardigan: Kate Spade
Dress: Target (like a year + ago)
Belt: eBay (and I admit I bought the same belt in like 12 colours. They were $1.50 each!)
Shoes: Christian Louboutin

And there you go. It’s been utter chaos this week, and will continue to be until next week. After the wedding my husband and I are taking a mini-vacation to celebrate his birthday and our anniversary (two months early, but who’s counting?!). Not sure where we will end up, hopefully some time in San Francisco, and maybe the coast. So many places up that way neither of us have ever been! Perhaps a trip to Hearst Castle (which I have never been to!). So many options!

Hope your week is going well!

Until next time,
