Sunday in Hollywood
Where to begin?! We started super early this morning! I drove for my eldest child, his ROTC group was working the Purim Festival at the Hollywood Temple (how cool is that?!). I only had to take 4 cadets + the commander, so my daughter squeezed in the back to/from and the two of us spent the day running around Hollywood!!
We started at the Beverly Hills farmers market. Had tacos, Danish and bought Pomegranite jelly. Mmmmm. From there it was to Westfield Century City for coffee/smoothie, where we met a lovely gentleman and his puppy, Daisy. We chatted until the mall opened.
Then the magic, er I mean longing started. I tried this one at Kate Spade:
AND I DID NOT BUY IT!!!!! I was sooo tempted. Seriously the first time I’ve been tempted to pay full retail for a dress. However, this one gaped on the top just too much for my comfort (especially as this style is available in a 00.) So I resisted. I did purchase another dress I had been eyeing, but I think it’s going back. Along with another dress I ordered from an outlet that came on Friday. Which means I imagine the dress above will make an appearance in my closet sooner rather than later. (I bought a similar pink one, the Vail style? But it doesn’t have pockets!!!! This one does!)
My mini-me and I, a rare face-type shot. You can see my hair is darker and I’ve managed to give myself a double chin. Whoops!!
Yes, she totally wore her Madeline hat all day!! From Century City we hit up my favorite LA store, It’s a Wrap, who is having a HUGE sale. I scored some fabulous pieces, but not much of it is for me. My big purchase was a gorgeous pale pink vintage dress in need of some repair. Hoping to work on that tomorrow.
Another stop, Le Mervetty in Beverly Hills for meringues! These are sooo amazing smelling & looking!
Some photos I snapped:
We did not try them, I had a cooler in my car, they will be dessert tomorrow night. We picked out Coffee & Chocolate. Such a great little spot! I will fill you in tomorrow on my thoughts, taste wise!!
Then we went to a friend of mine, to experience their Purim celebration, which was AMAZING. Sadly we couldn’t stay too long, but I did manage to do this for her daughters birthday:
Because who else would have a friend who baked two cakes in advance and provided the stuff to decorate it?! It was interesting, as I had to work with a different medium for the icing, to keep with their kosher diet. Can I just said, I would adore a kosher kitchen?! Talk about amazing!!! All the extra places to cook! Love it. I tell her every time I see her I want to move into her kitchen!
And some shots from the fun at my friends house:
And a funky selfie to show my outfit (well, kinda. It hit 90+ degrees and by this point I was back to just driving kids around so I ditched my cardigan. I did keep my cardigan on while at my friends house, out of respect for them, and their customs.)
Dress: Kate Spade Marietta Dress (from the desert hills premium outlet)
Belt: Kate Spade (from another dress)
Shoes: Manolo Blahnik, Strassed by me.
Crazy fun-filled day. A little regret over the pink dress, but I do think I would have regretted more buying a size too large. Oh, first world problems!!!
Have a great evening! Or rather, Happy Purim! (Such a fun celebration, read about it! It’s very Interesting)
Until next time,
