Fashion, Food, Desserts, being a 30-something mom is exciting!

Super Bowl Sunday!

I must confess, I have no desire to watch the game this evening. None. In fact, I briefly pulled Facebook up and promptly closed it, all the “wars” going on over commercials, halftime show, who’s winning, bad calls, etc etc. I suppose it also helps that we don’t have cable tv! (Don’t worry, between our DVD collection, Amazon Prime streaming and Redbox rentals, I see more than my fair share of tv!!) We were invited to several parties, but as I am still recovering from what has now been almost 6 weeks of illness? I’ve spent my day at home in bed, in my PJs! (It’s quite blissful really!)

However yesterday I did tackle a project. You see we have this closet under our stairs, it’s about 6ft wide and 8-ish feet deep (and 6ft tall). It was packed to the gills with all my event stuff (linens, glassware, rentals, etc). Late last year my husband purchased new shelving for our garage and said he’d move all my stuff out there, so when I need one item, I’m not pulling out the entire closet for it. Yay! To give you an idea, this is about 1/3 of what was in that closet:

The room empty:

Putting in shelves and filling them:

And my favorite addition, putting my sewing table (that had formerly resided in my bedroom….which meant I never used it for a sewing table, as hauling all the sewing supplies upstairs was a task):

I’m also going to hang some pin boards, and probably a few framed Kate Spade prints. I now call the closet my “craft/panic/hiding room”.

And now I need to hunt down a proper chair for my bedroom + a cute something for my lamp, but until then, I swiped the chair I bought last year from the music room:

Because having it there will hopefully convince my husband we need a bigger chair for that corner. Of course as I super dislike furniture shopping, who knows how long it will actually take. Until then, it’s a great play to toss clothing.

What I wore on Friday:

Cardigan: Ross
Blouse: Banana Republic
Pants: Banana Republic
Shoes: Christian Louboutin

And yesterday, when we popped out to pick up science boards for school projects:

Cardigan: Ross
Skirt: French Connection (thrifted)
Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Necklace: no idea.

The necklace I wore yesterday is identical to the one in my giveaway!

Go, enter, it’s open to anyone anywhere! See post for rules.

The prizes: (plus whatever else I toss in)

Good luck!

Have a wonderful Super Bowl Sunday!

Until next time,
