Patriotic Rain

Oh wow, it’s a crazy day today! Pouring rain, beautiful rainbows, howling winds. Let’s just say, it’s stormageddon 2014! I’m thrilled though, as we desperately need the rain.

Let’s just say it’s murder on hair, but I refused to allow the monsoon to impact my shoe choice today. (I went to a school meeting and ran a few errands before coming home to work on my to-do list that has piled up)

Cardigan: eBay
Blouse: Kohls
Belt: Thrifted
Skirt: Vintage
Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Handbag: Kate Spade

So, us Southern California folks are now experiencing some weather, I suppose it shall be an interesting fashion weekend!!! With the wind gusts (seriously seems like 30+ mph!) pencil skirts/dresses are on the agenda! Stay dry and safe, wherever you live.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Until next time,

Winter White

This morning I awoke to this view:

And decided to embrace “winter”:

Sweater: Kohls
Skirt: Vintage
Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Handbag: Kate Spade

Not much detail, but enough that I adore the winter white of my sweater! Plus it has sparkles, who can resist that?

Sadly the rain clouds have blown north, but I know more are coming. I crossing my fingers for a wild rainy weekend!!! I have lots of reading and napping planned (in my dreams anyway)

Until next time,

Gone Fishin’

I woke up this morning with a deep ache in my joints. What does that mean?! We here in Southern California are going to get some “weather”!!!! While the aches are quite annoying, I take comfort in knowing this will help our drought situation.

However, I still refuse to dress for “weather”!!

Cardigan: Ann Taylor
Dress: Anthropologie
Shoes: Christian Louboutin

I also got to sit down with a colleague and plan something super exciting this morning. It involved macarons and tulle. What could be better??

Maybe some sequins and crystals. We shall see!

Off and running, it’s time to jolt myself out of my afternoon reverie and pick the kids up and start on Wednesday night madness. Always crazy.

Until next time,

Pink Lady Tuesday

A fairly boring day today I suppose. Just spent time at the office, hunted down some tickets for a “society” event (I say that very loosely, as “society” where we live is not what one would think when they picture a “society event”.), and made a very quick foray into Salvation Army for 5 for $5 Tuesday. Event better on 5 for $5 Tuesday when it’s brand new Lands End uniform separates for girls! Our school has a “dress code”, but I tend to take it a little further and go with a more “uniform” style approach, as it’s easier for laundry and keeping up with the needs of 4 growing kids. Eeks! Anyway, my excitement for today. That and the fact that I’m not cooking tonight and we will be loading up soon and hitting Del Taco for “Taco Tuesday”, as for whatever reason it thrills my kids to no end.

My outfit:

Cardigan: Target
Dress: Thrifted
Shoes: Banana Republic (I actually painted these, they used to be pale pink suede)
Handbag: Kate Spade

Have a lovely evening!

Until next time,

Don’t like it? Change clothes!

Exactly what I did today!

Let me back up. I picked out what I felt was a so-so ensemble this morning, but in reality it was a Monday in all sense of that word. About halfway through the day, I realized my outfit wasn’t so cute AT ALL. But never fear, I simple changed! I know, crazy silly of me.

Anyway, it paid off, as we actually had to go out tonight, so I didn’t waste my second outfit! It also didn’t help that my shoes were rubbing the tops of my feet and I actually have slight bruising from them. *grimace*

First ensemble today:

Cardigan: Target
Skirt: Thrifted
Shoes: Kate Spade

And then came home and put this on:

Cardigan: Target
Skirt: Thrifted (it’s actually a dance skirt, I added an extra slip and a petticoat)
Shoes: Christian Louboutin

And what I wore to church yesterday:

Cardigan: Kate Spade
Dress: Kate Spade
Belt: The Cute and Sparkly Wife (something I dabble with from time to time!)
Shoes: Christian Louboutin

I made more French Macarons last night (shipped a HUGE order to a customer today):

I’ve really managed to perfect my technique with these. Of course now to get consistent with size! (So hard!!!!) These really are my favorite thing to make. My poor husband, I’ve been promising him creme brûlée all weekend (great use for all those egg yolks!!), and tonight I simply ran out of gas. After cooking enough pasta & making enough sauce for 8 meals, I’m done. In fact, I think tomorrow I’m taking my kids to Taco Tuesday at Del Taco, in an effort to avoid my kitchen for a night. We shall see if that actually comes to fruition!

Have a great evening!

Until next time,

Saturday Musings

Today was an odd day. Lots of cleaning and errands. We took the kiddos out for dinner, they all voted to go to Panda Express (sigh), so off we went. I wore this:

Cardigan: Ralph Lauren (old)
Dress: Kate Spade
Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Handbag: Kate Spade
Necklace: Target

I also cleaned my closet out today and prepped for tomorrow. I have one batch of macarons to make and then it’s time to stock my freezer with meals ready to be put in the oven! I used to do this every 2-3 months, but then lapsed, and it’s time to get back to it. The eternal question is my house is always “what’s for dinner?!”. Sigh. I miss the days of ordering in! But where we live the only delivery is pizza, and it’s hit or miss!

Don’t forget about my blog sale. 🙂 I have a pile of skirts to photograph too! If you see something, please feel free to make an offer, the prices listed do include shipping, and I’ll discount each additional item.

Until next time,

Casual Friday

Yes, it happened. I wore pants today! I had a massive amount of errands to run, a cake to deliver and some yard sale-ing to do!

My outfit: (yes, I’ve worn this before!!)

Cardigan: Banana Republic Outlet
Blouse: Banana Republic Outlet
Pants: Banana Republic
Necklace: Kate Spade
Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Handbag (not pictured) Green Kate Spade Elena bag

The cake I delivered:

Some gorgeous hair barrettes that came in today:

Aren’t they just divine?! Looking forward to styling these. Also hoping my daughter doesn’t swipe them!!

My evening snack:

Wishing you a wonderful weekend! I’m hoping to get photos of all the skirts I plan on adding to my blog sale. I have amassed far too many clothes! Time to clean house!

Until next time,
