Hump Day

I took pictures yesterday, but got caught up in what I was doing I forgot to post! A friend of mine and I went thrifting in our local area yesterday, so it was a fairly casual day. My no-buy for February is so far blown at this point, but I was fairly good! I’ll have to recap my purchases at a later date

Cardigan: Target
Blouse: Kate Spade
Pants: Banana Republic
Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Handbag: Kate Spade
Jewelry: Watch, Omega, Bracelet, Banana Republic

Today I have some errands and just general stuff to do. My outfit:

Cardigan: Ross (or TjMaxx, I can never remember!!)
Camisole: Felina, $6 @ Ross
Skirt: St John, thrifted
Shoes: Jimmy Choo
Handbag: Kate Spade

I have on just my diamond solitaire earrings and my watch today. The weather is changing again, so my arthritis is flaring up, which means I stay light on jewelry!

A project I’m working on:

Super excited to start strassing these, it’s going to be a wild project when I’m done!!! Now the seal has to set on the paint, so I can start strassing this weekend!

Today is Dr Seuss day at school, it’s fun to see all the little ones dressed up.

Have a lovely “hump day”!

Until next time,

Monday Monday

It’s Monday! I never got dressed yesterday, I had 15 loads of laundry and a house to clean. And a closet to clean out and reorganize. Ugh. It’s over, I survived, and there is one load of laundry left.

But alas, I am going to the office this morning, so I can pretend it doesn’t exist!

Cardigan: Banana Republic
Blouse: Kate Spade (I really must lean to iron!)
Belt: vintage, thrifted
Skirt: Cartonnier (worn last Wednesday with a petticoat), thrifted
Shoes: Jimmy Choo flats I added crystals too
Handbag: Coach

I’m not wearing much jewelry today, just my watch, and some simple diamond earrings & my ring. My arthritis is flaring in my neck, so a heavy (or any!) necklace is torture!!

I also have these books for a friend:

Both are amazing reads!!! I especially love the Tuohy’s book, it’s so real! Having lived IN the south, I knew women like Leigh Anne, so it makes it an even better read, if that makes sense? I found both books at the Dollar Tree just before Christmas. (I bought so many copies of the Tuohy’s book! Everyone got one at Christmas!)

Happy Monday!!

Until next time,

Giant Dustbin

Today the title again says it all. Giant dustbin. You can hardly see the house across the street (and mind you, we have 1/2 acre lots in our neighborhood, well, roughly that size. So it’s not as if we are right close on other homes). It’s brutal! Normally we attend church Saturday nights, but with the dust, cold and wind, I’m doing good to be standing, much less going anywhere else today. My arthritis is kicked up fairly bad this evening. I did still get dressed, just because one has to cook dinner, might as well be attractive doing so!

I started today in this, as we did errands and rummage sale hopping:

Cardigan: Target
Scarf: Target
Pants: Banana Republic
Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Bag: Kate Spade

I know, there was a smudge on my camera. Whoops!

I scored some new artwork for the house as well as an adorable vintage sewing table ($10!!) that I am going to refinish and paint the metal accents in pink sparkle. Why not?! The best score today however was the pile of toiletries at a warehouse place for a local shelter to use for their shower program. I’m hoping the warehouse/surplus buyers find more in the future, as I explained what it was for (and they gave me 50% off already dirt cheap prices) and left my number.

And what I am wearing to cook this evening (minus the bag):

Dress: Kate Spade
Shoes: Banana Republic (I painted these and added the pink bows)
Handbag: Kate Spade Moonlight Soirée

And how I plan on cooking:

Yes, little white socks over my nylons. And that readers is some insight into my daily madness. *grins*

Oh, and a cardigan (kohls) of course:

Hey, it’s chilly in this dustbin! I like to keep the heat just a smidge under 70 degrees, or it makes everyone congested. I adore central air conditioning, but heat? Ugh.

Tomorrow I plan to prepare my little seeing table and sell some old furniture. Out with our old, and in with someone else’s old!

Until next time,

50’s Chic

I have meetings and other various events today that require a business “look” per se. Of course, I did probably take it a step overboard, but hey, it’s Friday, and I am still enjoying the new things I purchased in LA!

Cardigan: Target, on sale
Blouse: Kate Spade, off eBay
Skirt: Vintage, from It’s a Wrap, $4
Belt: swiped from Kate Spade Lawson skirt
Shoes: Christian Louboutin navy simple 100’s

Handbag: Kate Spade

My earrings:

And some items that assisted in the breaking of my shopping ban:

Bow brooch from Banana Republic (on sale for $9!!), and a gorgeous bespoke skirt I snagged at Its a Wrap in Hollywood. That store is amazing!!! If you are in Los Angeles, I recommend checkin it out!

It’s a Wrap

What are your weekend plans? My plan is to work on culling my wardrobe as well as the children’s, as they have clothing that needs to go bye bye!!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Until next time,

More outfit pictures:

So yeah, I suppose I will dazzle in the sun. (Wait, I hate the sun!!) However, I am headed to church this morning for bible study. This study is soul searching. Nehemiah by Kelly Minter. Wow, just wow. It does make me feel a tad too materialistic, but I don’t live beyond my means, plus I do quite a bit if charity work. But there is always more.

What are you up to today? After church I have presents to buy, I still need to wrap up the adorable baby present I put together for a gal on our hospitality team. Oops.

Until next time,

Snow Day

Yesterday was so much fun! A friend and I went into downtown Los Angeles to hit thrift stores, and pick up my new pink shoes. We got back late, and I crashed. This morning I woke up to this:

Snow! Of course it was all gone by noon, nevertheless the children enjoyed a wet cold time this morning! (They cancelled school here. Yes, east coasters go ahead and laugh at us SoCal people!!!)

But alas, I still had to work. First though, my outfit yesterday:

Cardigan: Ann Taylor
Skirt: Ann Taylor (similar to the one I wore Monday, but different)
Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Handbag: not pictured, but I carried my neon pink tiny Kate Spade Crossbody.

We had a blast yesterday, and while I didn’t go overboard, I have officially broken my shopping ban for this month. I scored two skirts at a goodwill for $10, and then at the store It’s a Wrap (they have clothing from TV and movie sets), I got a blouse (wearing it today, it was NWT!), two skirts and some pieces for my daughter. The one skirt, it’s amazing. I can’t wait to style it, sadly it was too chilly today. I’m going to save it though!!

My shoes: (and the Kate Spade bag I ordered last Friday came last night!!)

I am in awe of these, Joey really is a talented artist!! I now look at the shoes I have Strassed and think “oh man, I could have done xyz!!”. Needless to say, he is amazing. Redo my shoe

And today, my outfit (I’m trying to get creative with photographs. I need a new mirror!)

Cardigan: Kohls
Blouse: It’s a Wrap (the designer tag was cut out, tags were still attached but the designer names cut out)
Skirt: Cartonner (I think?) thrifted for $5. It’s gorgeous, made in USA, and the lining is superb!!
Shoes: Christian Louboutin

Such a crazy day! I’m sad to see the snow go so quickly, but it’s really a blessing as people out here really struggle driving in bad weather conditions. I have a big 4-wheel drive SUV, and I know how to drive it, but I’m not the normal driver on the road!

Happy Wednesday! Hard to believe the week is half over. I need to figure out weekend plans!

Until next time,

Black & White Monday

Squeee!!! I am super excited today, the custom shoes I commissioned? They are done! And I will be picking them up tomorrow!! *twirls*

Pink Shoes!

I had the pleasure of meeting Joey of Redo My Shoe late last month, he is as real in person as he is on the internet. I am headed into la tomorrow to vintage/thrift shop with a friend of mine, and will (hopefully!) be picking the above shoes up as well! I know I strass my own shoes, but it’s just not the same as having a pair done. Kind of like hair or a facial.

So today for lazing around (actually I’ve been organizing and tossing out junk today), I embraced the “trend” of black & white:

Cardigan: Red, TJMaxx (or Ross?)
Skirt: Basil & Maude, off eBay (this fabric is a lint magnet! Not fun really)
Shoes: Christian Louboutin

Not terribly exciting, as I said above, I don’t have much planned today. Tomorrow is such a big/long day I decided to lay low today in preparation. I have to always be careful not to overdo things.

Happy Monday! Any big plans this week?

Until next time,
