Fashion, Food, Desserts, being a 30-something mom is exciting!

Late Night Crafting

Whoops! I got buy this evening watching movies and working on a new pair of Strassed Louboutins. (The pony hair re-do).

I started my day off by hosting a light brunch for my bible study group:

I know, all that bread! I have a slight bread addiction. (Not very popular these days!)

My outfit:

Cardigan: Banana Republic (holiday ’11)
Blouse: Kate Spade
Skirt: Kate Spade
Shoes: Christian Louboutin

And my shoes: (preciosa violet and violet AB mix. These are kind of a mish-mosh of random extras. Heck all my Strassed shoes tend to be that way!)

One shoe is completely done, and I hope to finish the other tomorrow. I’m headed to Orange County this weekend, and I’d like to get them done so I can have them re-heeled. The only shoe repair shop where I live, the last pair of Strassed shoes I took to him came back missing dozens of crystals. He is super rough with shoes, an frankly, he’s not a very nice person. I suppose being the only cobbler in town allows it? I refuse to give him my business anymore, no matter how desperate! That’s saying a lot, as I am a huge fan of supporting small local businesses!

The color is making me so excited for the pair Joey is doing for me. Bright pink! I’ll then have: Light Yellow x2, Red x3! (flats and heels), light purple (x2! One pair is jellies), orange, blue, and my next pair I do is a rainbow pair of manolos to use up extra bits. And I want to do a green pair. And then perhaps, I might find a new detailed project to spend time on. I’ll have done 16 pairs by them, 12 for me, so I’ll have like 13 or something insane! I know, I know.

On another note, I finally got to see Les Miserables. *swoons* how have I, a phantom of the opera lover, not discovered this sooner?! The music! So now in obsessed with it. I’ve been lucky to see the film more than once, I’m going to be waiting in anticipation of this DVD release, that’s for sure! I see an Oscar sweep with this one. Blew everything else I’ve seen lately out of the water!

Anyway. Off to bed with me. My neck is all wonky again, and I’m sure strassing this evening, all afternoon, and last night has not helped! I just started them yesterday, like I said, in determined to get them done tomorrow!

Until next time,

  1. your shoes are looking great – I wish I had the patience to try strassing some shoes 🙂 I haven’t seen the Les Mis movie yet, but it sounds great. I worked at the musical in London for work experience when I was 17 and got totally obsessed with the music then – it’s an amazing musical!

    • Yes, well, I tend to take things to the extreme. One pair wasn’t enough, oh no! I did my first pair Mother’s Day weekend last year. So in what, 7-8 months, I’ve done 14 or 15 pairs? (Not all for me, several friends have gotten delightful gifts) yeah, I have a wee problem!

Oh, I hear if you love the theatre production of Les Mis, the movie might disappoint. But I’m hooked. I saw they filmed a 25th anniversary performance (like phantom!) and amazon has it. Sooo tempted!

      Thanks for stopping by! 🙂

  2. Thats a shame about your cobbler. Was it an electronic cobbler? They automate these things so much nowadays that there is no finesse anymore.

And I agree that Les Miserables was so freaking great. I was crying so much at the end. It kills me that they had a bigger barricade in heaven.
