Fashion, Food, Desserts, being a 30-something mom is exciting!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! I hope y’all had a lovely evening last night, and no one encountered any danger. I was saddened to read some of the heartbreaking news from large crowds this morning. One of the many reasons I have chosen to stay home for so many years! In fact, it has been a whole decade! (I believe I previously stated 9, oops!!)

Anyway, I had a few errands this afternoon, and as much as my fellow city dwellers go out and about in their Pjs, I simply cannot bring myself to join them:

Cardigan: Kate Spade, off eBay
Blouse: Kohls
Belt: Vintage
Skirt: Mini Haruki for Target, girls’ section. I bought a large(10-12), but ended up having to take it in. This runs large!! $12.48 on sale (I’ve been eyeing this for months)
Shoes: Christian Louboutin, off eBay

I love this skirt! Honestly, this is something I could make fairly easily, it’s just a few simple seams.

My shoes, they just came in the mail yesterday, as I’ve been in desperate need of plain black flats (okay, so maybe not, but they were under $40, I couldn’t resist!!)

Louboutin ballet flats have really been a staple for me. They don’t pinch, rub, and they just look pretty. I really like how they are cut, and the toe. Preferably Strassed, but plain works too. *grins*

Do you make New Years resolutions? I don’t really, as I try to work on myself and keep changing/evolving daily. I do have a few things I’d like in 2013 though:

1. Clean up my wardrobe. One girl does not need 51 cardigan sweaters. I won’t even talk about skirts, especially the shorter ones I know I will never wear!

2. Wear more tulle. I’m loving the ballerina look right now. I have my eye on a calf length tulle skirt. I’m really loving the idea of a seafoam green one.

So, there you go. Nothing difficult, unattainable or crazy. As far as serious items, I already do quite a bit of charity work, and various secret acts of kindness, but I try to do these thins quietly and behind the scenes.

Happy New Year! I’m now back in my pjs, curled up with a fuzzy blanket on this chilly winter afternoon. I have to get back to work tomorrow, so I’m enjoying this last day of “freedom” so to speak. I’ve not cracked a computer in over a week!

Until next time,

Ha ha! I know what you mean about the cardigans, for me it is handbags. I am resolving to not buy anymore and start using what’s in my closet since I refuse to part with any of them. I switched out bags today for something sitting in my closet and am very happy with myself. I do love those flats, I’d do the same for $40!

    • I do believe every woman has that “one thing” they have to many of! The reality? Mine is shoes. But they are so hard to part with!!!!! I have way more shoes than cardigans. It is ridiculous!!
