What I want to wear today

20120326-072357.jpg
Alas, if I had my way this is what I would wear today!

With my black flats (I wear these everywhere)

And perhaps this cardigan

20120326-072652.jpg

The dress came from the Banana Republic Outlet, $10 in May 2010. The shoes were an eBay purchase, right around $50, and the cardigan came from a local thrift for $3. I removed the hooks that were remaining (it was missing several) and washed out the spots!

I figure my cost per wear is pennies on these items, heck the shoes get so much wear, I’ve had them over a year, $20 flats from Payless typically only last me 3-4 months!

It does pay to splurge on shoes & handbags. And jewelry, but that is a whole other post!!

Until next time,

Jules

Closet Project

The bane of my existence, keeping my closet tidy & organized! I have these lovely shelves, except they aren’t really for shoes so it’s always tricky to keep them from flying off! Forget putting flats on the shelves, my feet are simply too big!

Here’s the top two shelves, all color-coordinated (sort of!). And confession time, I have several more pairs of black heels that are stored in their shoeboxes! (I won’t even admit to flats & flat sandals!!). I do try to rotate my shoes, so I get more use out of them. (alas, it’s merely a pathetic attempt on my part, I still seem to wear the same 4 pairs of shoes!!!)

These are the bottom two shelves. My handbag shelf is rather disorganized, but I do try to keep my bags in their sleeper bags. I realized as I was organizing and moving things around today, I only have two brands of handbags, Kate Spade & Coach. And I’ve only ever bought one bag new! This one:

Which I simply adore!!! I think they might have made a bangle bracelet, might need to add that, just for fun!!

Any recommendations to making my shoe shelves more useable, please send them to me! Or post them here!

Back to my closet, next I’m going to tackle clothing, it’s time for a purge! Perhaps I’ll have to run a giveaway next week! Something to think about, maybe if I get enough followers!

Until next time,

Jules

Cardigans

Anyone who knows me even in passing probably has caught on to my obsession with cardigans. I wear them with nearly everything! I probably own, well, perhaps I shouldn’t share the exact number, but suffice to say, I own many.

I love Target’s cardigans because they are, well, cheap when they go on sale! And I often will “restyle” them, add lace, change the buttons, things like that. Here’s a couple from there that are seen by the world quite often:

I also have the one above in black. They were on sale for $7.54, hard to resist! (and I had $4 off a sweater coupon from the holiday coupon book! So they were under $5 with tax)

I will also scour Ross, Marshall’s & TJ Maxx. This black & white “pinup”-esq came from the clearance rack at Ross, if I remember correctly, it was under $10.

These two I picked up at Banana Republic yesterday. They were already marked down, with another 25% off and I had some store credit. It was around $30 for both. I love the navy one, it’s such a reminder of a Kate Spade cardigan I love, but is nearly $300!

And lastly, a few of my much-worn Kate Spade cardigans. All either purchased second-hand. I love the black one the most, and have some really fun shoes that “match”.

Birchbox!

What an exciting day! A few weeks ago I finally got my invite to join Birchbox, it’s a monthly box of sample sized beauty items! $10 including shipping!

I adore miniature items, so I couldn’t resist! My first one came today, and while I have not had the time yet to explore what’s inside, the box alone was a treat!! All wrapped up and pretty.

I shall have to explore the contents this weekend! It’s been an exciting day, I also scored some other things I will share in another post.

Until next time,

Jules

A few of my more “worn” shoes. My favorite in the preceding photographs are the hot pink slingbacks, they hold a special memory!

Do you line up your shoes and take “glamour” shots of them? I do it with clothing, shoes and my accessories. You know, in case of fire or something. Just to be safe. *winks* or so I tell my husband!

Until next time,

Sweater Clips

A few weeks ago I got lucky and found something I’ve been wanting, but haven’t taken the time to really search for, sweater clips!

20120321-215648.jpg

This one is an actual set, they aren’t signed, but they do have “pat pend” engraved on the back.

20120321-215811.jpg

This “clip” is actually a double pin that at one point had something dangling, but that was gone when I bought it.

Salvation Army had a big sale, and I scored both of these (and a pile of other vintage jewelry) for $7.50. I don’t watch Glee, but I do follow the blog, http://www.wwepw.con because I adore the way Emma Pillsbury from the show dresses! From what I’ve read about the character, I very very much relate to her!

Until next time,

Jules
